I booked a pickup at Newark and was told by the dispatcher I had to use a credit card to pay. I gave him my credit card information and was charged a service fee (which was never mentioned) and they added a tip after I had given the driver a cash tip. I looked at my prior charge card bill and Adams had done the same thing earlier this month. My credit card company was contacted and they rectified the problem. IF YOU ARE A FEMALE TRAVELING ALONE OR TRAVELING WITH A CHILD DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I should have read some reviews before booking this car service.... I have lived in NYC for 10 years and taken many different services (Dial 7's, Dial 6, Carmel, etc.) I recently moved to NJ and thought I would try out some local car services instead. I have never written a Yelp review yet - but I joined just to share my experience with others. First of all, I was traveling alone with my 18 month old and called Adam's Limo ahead to make sure they would have a carseat installed for our trip to the airport. I was going to be short on time, so I wanted to be sure I picked a car service that would have a carseat in the car ready to go. "No problem", I was told. When the car arrived at my home, the carseat was not installed anywhere near correctly and was literally flopping around in the backseat. I nicely told the driver that the seat was not installed and he proceeded to yell at me that he always has problems with Mothers complaining and in his country (Turkey) they don't use carseats and he doesn't know how to put them in. I explained that I wasn't complaining - I just want to make sure my son is safe while we are driving on I-78 to the airport. I proceeded to read the installation instructions on the carseat and corectly installed it myself. At this point, I was nervous about missing my flight, so I had no option but to go with this guy and his attitude. When we got to the airport, I asked for the charge for the carseat installation (I was told it would be all set to go when I booked the car) to be waived since it was not installed and I had to do it myself (which took 15-20 mins). Well..... this is when the driver COMPLETELY FLIPPED OUT and started cursing and screaming at me telling me that he's the driver and the manager is the one who takes care of that. So, I asked to speak with his manager. He called the manager, started SCREAMING in the phone in Turkish, and then put me on the phone with the manager. I couldn't even get two words out before the manager literally started cursing me out, screaming on the top of his lungs on the phone. I was so beside myself. I have never been spoken to like that by anyone, and I was in pure shock. At this point, the driver told me that I had to pay cash for the whole ride because I was using an American Express and they were afraid I was going to dispute the charge. His exact quote was, "If you don't pay cash right now, we are going to have a problem." His teeth were clenched and he was staring me straight in the eye. I immediately felt instantly uneasy, and scared - since I am a tiny girl and I'm traveling alone with my toddler and I was now being threatened. I explained calmly to the driver that I didn't have any cash and I had to use my card. At the same time, I opened the car door and called to the skycap to help me b/c I was so frightened of the driver. At that point, the driver took the carseat charge off of my bill and ran my American Express. As soon as I got into the airport I burst into tears and was shaking from the whole ordeal. It was so awful..... Please do not give this company your money. They are awful. ** Since writing this review I have found other reviews from other mothers with eerily similar stories. Completely terrible service. I will never use this service again. Had a 9pm reservation for an airport pickup. Called them at 8:45 when the plane landed. I was at the pick up point waiting at 9pm. The car did not arrive until 9:35pm and the dispatcher would not even admit they were late. If he had just admitted the pickup was late and apologized, I probably would not have felt compelled to go right on to Yelp and leave this review. Absolutely terrible service all the way around. Booked large van for a kids party. Pick up was on time . I had booked for roundtrip but the driver was not aware. Driver was polite overall. On the way home, I was charged to let people out before I got home (no detour was made). Seems like their booking system does not function well and you should be careful about extra surprise charges if you book with Adams Limo. I will not be a repeat customer. read more

We had a fantastic experience using Adam's Limo to get from our apartment to Newark Airport. They were patient over the phone while I dug for information when we called the schedule. Our driver, Bahce, arrived early, was fun, and even stopped to get us coffee along the way. They are at best - rude incompetent bullies or at worst criminals who charge for services that they do not intend to provide We arrived at Newark airport this morning from a flight arriving at 6:30am that they were supposed to provide car service to our home but they never showed up so we took a cab home They then left voice mail at 8am ( one and half hours later) and when we returned their call the man on the phone yelled at my wife and said that they are charging our credit card even though they never showed up WE will be reporting this to BBB and the other authorities I joined YELP just to warn others about this terrible business that should be avoided at all all costs DO NOT EVER USE THIS LIMO SERVICE! read more

Traveling with a group of 14 is no easy task. Thanks to Adams car service our transportation needs were handled to complete satisfaction! 2 groups of 7 picked up at two separate locations was not only punctual, but were indeed 15 minutes early! Leaving us ample time for our early morning Newark airport departure. 2 Large SUV's were immaculate, and provided enough room for 4 adults and 3 children, plus 12 days worth of luggage in each vehicle! Drivers were courteous and polite. Steve was one of the drivers. Return pick up was handled with equal satisfaction. Drivers were in contact with us before we even got off the plane. Arranging for a pick up point. I was expecting to be greeted at baggage claim, but rather they picked us up curbside at the arrivals terminal. Which actually proved to be quicker and less costly. All arrangements were made with dispatcher Rocky. He was most courteous and helpful. His knowledge of his business really put me at ease. Pricing was very fair and competitive. First off, I booked my flight and then decided to read reviews and got scared, however my experience was not bad at all, and better than expected. Second, it blatantly says on their site that they charge the gratuity (which you SHOULD be paying anyway!) and all those other charges on the website. Before I did my reservation I calculated how much it should be-- which it was. I am shocked at the amount of people who did not thoroughly read the website before they booked their reservation. Also, for those who were shocked tax wasn't included... This is the US, tax is rarely included in the price of items... it's common sense people. When you call, the operator also tells you that they do not wait inside, and that you might have to walk a little to get picked up, before you give a credit card number. He also tells you that you will be charged if the info is wrong and they go to the wrong place, which personally, I do not find outrageous--it is a business after all. He also advised me over the phone that if I paid with cash it would be cheaper (no 4% credit card charge). I gave it 4 stars because they were good, but not fantastic. While I did not travel with children, I am a young female and did not feel in danger at all. I wish people realized how much 1 or 2 bad reviews can hurt a company that I personally do not think deserved it. I would recommend this to my friends. read more

First of all, they quote a rate that does not include TAX and GRATUITY. So, you need to calculate at least 30% on top of the quote they give you. Also, when picking up from the airport they do not meet you inside like most companies. Not very impressed with this company and will seek out another in the future. read more

I see some negative reviews from others, but my experience was just fine. The driver was on time and courteous and the ride was fine. The price on the web site does not include the mandatory tip, and they charge extra if,you use the credit card. So it's better to call for the quote. Actually using the web site is kind of pointless because they want a credit card number to hold the reservation, so it is necessary to call anyway. Their toll free number apparently routes to cell phones of different people, sometimes the drivers, sometimes the owner. First time I called, I got a guy who didn't seem too eager for business and he asked me, in not-so-great English to call later. Second time I called, I apparently got the owner and he was friendly and helpful. read more

Wish I had checked Yelp before booking a trip with Adams Limo. Airline cancelled my flight 20 minutes before my scheduled pickup time. I let them know immediately and said I would call back to schedule once I knew my new flight info... when I called back they took my reservation and then told me (only when I asked of course) that they had charged me for the first pickup up (+20% gratuity) and would be charging me for the full ride again a couple hours later. Clearly did not use them and will never again. I understand a convenience charge but $65 is ridiculous. There are too many other local car services to deal with a business with this policy. read more

Terrible. Left us stranded at the airport and then hung up on us when we tried figure out what to do. Said our driver never got his fare to the airport, so we were stuck with no way home.He said all his other cars were booked!!! Then hung up on me. Can you believe it! Awful way to end what was otherwise a great family vacation. Kids tired and upset, and then this. Ugh. Stay FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. Oh, and be sure to notice the mandatory, yup mandatory 20% tip required. Bit surprised with that on the way to the airport. read more
