I'm a frequent business traveler in Philadelphia - I'm used to Uber, expense accounts and every blue moon, driving myself to the airport. When I needed to travel out of EWR with my (senior citizen) mother, I needed to find a car service that wasn't priced for business travelers, but could get us there reliably, on time, and safely. To make it more complex, my parents don't live near EWR - so it's a pretty hefty drive. I solicited recommendations from friends and colleagues in the area. Searched Yelp. I even searched Facebook.I sent out a dozen emails asking for price quotes for our specific trip. Some quotes came back 3X what Sam at Somerset Car Service quoted me. I was a little nervous because his rate was so low, but gave it a shot anyway. I have to say - I was really pleased with Sam. The driver wasn't on time for pickup from my house - he was about 10 minutes EARLY. He waited patiently until we were ready to go. He dropped us off at the gate, and made sure to help with our luggage. He was very polite, and I felt very comfortable with his driving. Our return trip was a little less plush (black car going out, a van coming home) but it was safe, clean, easy, and affordable. We're flying out of EWR again in a couple of weeks, and there was no question how we'd get to the airport. It's silly, but traveling with folks who require a little special care (whether it's kids, or parents, or someone who moves a little more slowly) can be really stressful - especially when you're paying for it out of pocket. I've used Somerset car service bc they provide good professional service for a price that is reasonable. I have used others more expensive but I work for a non profit and the pricing was way too much. Somerset has friendly drivers, they have always been timely, and are a good fair and easy to work with. One of their drivers was so kind that I was able to schedule two changes to my return trip through texting due to a cancellation when I was stranded in Detroit. I reserved a pick up at Newark airport for a 12:43 am arrival and pick up. They never showed up. No one called me and when I called their number no one was there to answer. I got a recording. So at 1:00am I am looking for a ride home. Fortunately uber showed up in 7 minutes and got me home. Later I got a text from the apologizing saying they had a system glitch which pushed their reservations out 1 day. read more

I have previously used Somerset car service with no issues which is why I chose to use them again for a group car service service...BUT NEVER AGAIN! I reserved a large van to transport 2 families to start our vacation together via the website and final email confirmation 3 weeks ahead of time. On the day of the trip, the van did not show up. I called the number and a taxi service answers...they do have information about the reservation but apparently the wrong time and the big van is NOT available. So after several phone calls back and forth they send 2 DIRTY, NASTY taxi minivans to pick up the families individually. One driver has no idea where the destination is supposed to be, has no ez-pass for the tolls and was texting while speeding. When I reserved a car service I expected an on-time professional driver and a clean vehicle; not a regular local taxi cab. That is NOT what I experienced. I have had better experiences with UBER and Lyft drivers and that's what I would use over Somerset Car Service. read more

I have been using Somerset for quite some time now, as I travel back and forth to the airport frequently for work. My experience with Somerset has been nothing but a pleasure.
