Even as I was trying to figure out what to get, I could hear her helping the next customer with his own home item question. Looking around the store, there is probably something you will need in there not now, but maybe in the future. When the time comes, a friendly staff member will likely be there to help you navigate the shelves and find it. We have come here on other occasions for paint and screws. True Value is conveniently located in a street with many well loved businesses in Dupont Circle. Maybe get dinner with a side of hardware store? There is a bus stop a couple blocks down and it's a 10 minute walk from the circle.

One young man helps customers transport large items to their vehicles. They also let you borrow trolleys to get things to your car. I was in the plumbing department recently and was looking for something very small that I located immediately and the person working downstairs greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. Much of what they carry comes in bulk quantities, like 100 piece screw kits, etc. However, the staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about their inventory.
