From Rory, the owner, who gave us the quote, to the actual drywall installers who did the job with quality and craftmanship. Also having Rory doing a walk through with us at the end to explain everything that they did and why. I got an estimate from Rory at SLO Drywall and we…read moreagreed that his drywall hanger would be at my house to remove some water damaged drywall, provide some replacement insulation and to install a replacement piece of drywall on my Master Bath Ceiling. His guys were supposed to arrive at 9:00 am on July 6th. The main drywall hanger showed up at 9:30 and his helper showed up at 9:45am. They then proceeded to cut a 5 ft. by 3 1/2 foot hole in my bathroom ceiling, while insulation rained down. After looking at the wooden supports in the ceiling, they determined that they couldn't do the job because the wood was still wet. They did not have a moisture meter on them to do the determination in the correct way and they hadn't brought any replacement insulation that was originally agreed on. They left and told me that Rory would talk to me. At not time was there any mention of how to dry anything out, etc. I did call Rory and he told me that he would come in the next 2 days with a moisture meter, but that "he would call me back". I waited with no call back or any idea they actually had a plan for this problem. When Rory finally called me back on Wednesday afternoon, he was very defensive when I said that so far, I thought his company was unprofessional, late, and ill equipped to do the job we agreed on. He became very defensive and railed at me and said "well good luck finding someone else to do the job". I called someone to come out and determine how wet things were that same day and they said the moisture content was 13% (well under the allowable 16% to hang the drywall). In that conversation with Rory he said he would charge me $150 for a "minimum service charge" and I said okay. Today I got a bill for $250 for that service charge and after I called Rory back about as to why it was increased to $250 , he said that it was what we agreed (it wasn't). I feel I was taken advantage of and Rory treated me very unprofessionally and I hope this review will help other people decide what type of company this is and what type of owner Rory is. Beware!

We ended up getting all the paper off but there was glue, residue, and lead paint left behind. That's when we decided we needed a professional to skim coat our wall. We could have attempted to do it ourselves but it's in our living room and a major focal point in the house so we wanted it to be done well. Eddie was very accommodating to our schedules. He ended up doing the job the day after Thanksgiving, which many people wouldn't have. We are very impressed with the results. The texture on the wall matches our other walls exactly. We will definitely hire him again. He has many years of experience and it shows and his prices are reasonable.

While I was confident in my DIY ability for the small room, I was not confident with the large living/dining room. This room is a focal point from the foyer and contains a wide step down. Deciding to get professional help we solicited three bids. Two contractors came, looked at the room and with little thought, quoted a cost that within a couple of hundred dollars from each other. Between these two lackluster bids, Eddie looked at the job, asked several questions about what layout we wanted, how we would like the step done and so on. Eddie made some suggestions which reflected his expertise. Eddie's communication skills left the other contractors behind at the starting line. Even better, his bid was in line with the other two. This job was not a large undertaking and would be done in a day. Eddie and Louis showed up on the appointed day and at the appointed time, giving lie to the stereotype of contractors being haphazard with time management and showing up late. During the process, Eddie schooled me as to the installation so I could do the small room. The job went very well and the floor looked great. However, due to the nature of the flooring material and the float installation, the step down was an epic fail. Eddie displayed extreme professional competency but it was just putting lipstick on a pig. We put our heads together and come up with plan B. I acquired two pieces of solid wood with a similar grain as that of the flooring. Eddie picked up the new material, joined them, shaped it, stained and finished it. Eddie then came back and installed the new step down. A tricky piece of work as the step down faced floor tile that was not quite set uniformly, but Eddie made it look perfect at no extra charge. We could not be happier with the finished product and the fine service provided by Eddie Sapien and Network Construction.

He is reliable, multi-skilled, works on the project along side the subs to be sure all is done to code. My project was a complete remodel of a basement,... like a little house with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom....all the amenities of a large or small house. He does very good work for a very reasonable price, is clear and…read moreopen about quoting how much a job will cost, gets the work done on time, and is a decent human being you can trust and communicate with. He's done a lot of painting for us--interior, exterior, decks, sheds. It's all been great. He's pretty much a one-man operation, so sometimes there are relatively minor schedule problems, or a job takes an extra day to complete, and sometimes he's just not available. My only criticism is that he can be messy-- the house will need a good cleaning after an interior paint job, but that's probably true of any house painter. We'll definitely use him the next time we need painting done.
