(Full disclosure: I knew Rebekah as a friend before hiring her as a photographer.)…read more I found myself in a pinch needing a photographer for multiple Yelp events in one night, and it dawned on me that Liz M had mentioned our friend, Rebekah, was doing photography for her cookbook. I gave Rebekah a call (actually, I sent her bf a Facebook message), and she was happy to help me! Before the event, Rebekah asked for my expectations and the types of shots I wanted. We talked through the two events she was photographing, and we both felt good about them. She showed up early for the event and quietly got to work capturing some amazing shots of the event. Then, she left the first event in Dublin and traveled to the second one in Grandview. She beat me there and got right to work. I just opened my photos from the events, and they are spectacular. I know Rebekah's Facebook and website don't boast a lot about her event photography, but I think that's where she shines. She really captured the spirit and the joy in both events, and the photos will be fantastic marketing tools for me and the businesses featured. I'm really impressed with Rebekah's photography, and I had such a great experience working with her. Here are a few specifics of what I loved: -She asked for expectations upfront. -She arrived on time and didn't need much direction. -She walked the fine line of being part of the event but also blending into the background; sometimes photographers are so noticeable that people won't let their hair down and act natural. Rebekah was perfect! -Her photos really tell the story of the events--nothing posed and cheesy. -The turnaround for getting the photos back was really fast--the next day! She was able to pose us (we're definitely no models), and the pictures turned out looking wonderful! It only took 2 weeks for us to get the photos back which seems like a pretty quick turnaround for us. I generally dislike looking at pictures of myself, but Nicole made us look great, and I definitely felt a boost of self-confidence!!
