The majority of their product is reasonably priced. You can grab a litre of milk for $1.25. Other positives about Marion Foodland IGA include the fact they have lots of staff in the store at any given time which means not too much waiting at checkouts. You know that annoying wait at late night supermarkets where only one person is on the checkout and there are ten people line up - not so here. Parking is always easy here and they have a good selection of deli products. Their bakery section is quite small but adequate and the fruit and veg section is pretty good too. If you have a late night emergency and live in the Marion area, I recommend this supermarket.

I tend to disagree about that amount of skin tight lycra being around when I'm drinking my coffee but her theory has not yet proven her wrong when it comes to coffee. Red Berry roast their own blends of coffee and do it well. Unfortunately that is about all they can do in their shop because it is so tiny and they've tried to allow plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting room. This place is great for coffee and cake/sweet treats but is unable to do more than that due to the fact they do not have a toilet facility on site. The brews are good, the ice coffee is rich and creamy and it is a lovely quiet spot on a summer's afternoon, as long as you can overt your eyes long enough from bright pink lycra.

It was, in fact a cross between cornbread and a frittata- cheesey, with lots of corn, sweet potato and other veggies, topped with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. So good! It was served warm with butter and chilli jam (which had a bit of a kick to it). It was very filling and my dining partner had to finish it off. I also had a muesli bar. This was like a dense peanut butter slice with dried fruits, nuts and coconut in it. It was filling and tasty. Again, my dining partner had to assist. Finally, my dining partner got a blondie, which I tasted. So yum! The third fab thing about this place is that it is dog friendly. I mean, they really seem to like dogs. The back courtyard is DogLand, with its own private entrance from the rear alley, buckets of water and dog wandering space. Homemade dog treats can be purchased from the bakery inside. It is a bit nippy this time of year but lap blankets are provided. Give it a try. If you're not a fan of dogs, the tables inside will be for you and perhaps those outside on the footpath. I like the large selection of boutique wines that you won't find at the bigger wine shops. Fassina is SA owned and they post the weekly deals up on the window so I can always look before I go in. They do wine tasting from time to time. As I'm a sparkling red fiend; I like their range and they have a few decent ones to grab from their fridge and take straight to a friends place. I'll continue to drop in here!

I spent forever trying to explain frankincense before giving up, then again if I'd asked for something more common they'd probably know what I was on about, and when I asked for a certain kind of coconut milk they instantly directed me. This store capably accommodates a few other groups outside of Indian food enthusiasts--Pakistanis, Fijian Indians, Sri Lankan and Pacific Islanders as well as coeliacs. Being half-Samoan, my parents often head to New India Market for their Islander wares as palusami, taro, yams, cassava and the savoury banana chips. There are also a lot of beauty items direct from India which aren't easy to come by like real coconut oil (for body and hair) and neem (a natural Clearasil). As Indian food here is mainly based on non-gluten products, coeliacs have hit the jackpot with the New India Market and can stock up on many snacks and food items. Not only can you purchase ingredients but you can purchase the certain items and utensils for preparing those ingredients. Of all the many products, my favourite product from here are the cans of pink Tuna "Wahoo" which tastes phenomenal and quite different from Australian canned Tuna. Yum!
