Where my company squeezes all their employes traveling abroad. So naturally, this is a place we hit up pretty often for a meal and drinks. The building is gorgeous, an old church turned historical hotel and excellent restaurant. There is a granite bar, well I guess that is not that impressive considering the whole city is made of the stuff. Anyway, still an awesome place for a drink. A small dinning area behind the bar, and another dinning area/lounge as well. Two cask ales. This place is on the CAMRA beer guide. Usually Ossian and Tim Taylor. Both in immaculate condition. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. Some good whiskeys as well. The food is very good, traditional Scottish fare. If you want to know what good Aberdeen beef is, come here. One of the best steaks, and prime rib I have had. The curry is also excellent. Like most places around they will do special dinners for Mothers Day, Christmas, ext. I have not been, but those always sound amazing. All freshly prepared and locally sourced. There are about 30 rooms, and very nice ones at that. Certainly as good of a place to stay as any. Lets see, historical building with lots of character, Real Ale, good food, yep this is a place for me.

Kitchenette with all the dishes, mini fridge, stove top, microwave, laundry. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had three suites, all different but spacious and open, good light, very clean. The only reason it didn't receive five stars is one of our suites did not have hot water. Staff offered a new room, but it was the morning and we needed to get out of there to start our day. Surrounded by shops and eateries, the location is great. We enjoyed a celebration dinner at the steakhouse across the street and it was awesome (Miller & Carter). The hotel sneaks up on you, look for Brewdog next door. Parking is convenient and right behind the hotel, plus the offer 25% off the cost.

The DoubleTree Hilton is located at the beach front in Aberdeen and of such it's a good location…read morefor a starting a walk along the wonderful Esplanade of Aberdeen Town. You are also not far from the centre and only 10 min walk from the train station. The hotel has free parking, which seems to be hard to get in Aberdeen town centre. There are two buildings, the Hilton with the normal and premier rooms and the Platinum building, which is supposed to home the better and larger rooms. Well, the TVs are definitely large, no doubt here. Complimentary are the bathrope, the slippers and the small choice of soft drinks. You can choose to pay a small surcharge and might even get a room with a sea view (if you can call it that :-)). However, the rooms are already dear as it is. The hotel is located beside a busy road, but you can't hear the traffic. Also nearby is an ASDA, which I can definitely recommend as the room service food is less than desirable and very, very expensive with a surcharge of £5 for the room service. I had ordered a mushrooms soup and a fruit salad. Whilst the soup was served hot and was acceptable taste wise, the fruit salad was quite a disappointment. It felt like they cut up the last pieces of fruits that they could find in the kitchen topped with a scoop of fruit sorbet. In the bath I could see dark hairs spread all over it and I asked for the bath to be cleaned properly. I also asked for peppermint tea, as apparently this is not part of a general tea assortment. Overall the staff was always very friendly and attentive. All the staff is international. Breakfast is served until 11 on a weekend what is great! The assortment on hot and cold breakfast food selection is great. Lots of choice! There also is a gym, a bar and a restaurant. The reception staff is very polite and the front desk is covered 24hs. The roof in my room looked a bit dodgy at some places and some of the furnishings would need an uplift. What I liked nevertheless was the massive bed in which easily 3 people could sleep in :-) Would I be back to this hotel? Maybe.

When we arrived she was like "no way malmasion this will cost a fortune" well for £84 each we got our room, mal munchies brought to our room, a cocktail and a cooked breakfast. Our room was lovely and had a great view of the city. The bathroom was so big that it actually echoed.. What was great about doing this was that we didn't have to wander about Aberdeen in the cold rain and wind to different bars or worry about how we were gong to get home. We brought along champagne for the room and relaxed in the room having a good catch up. Then our mal munchies arrived. We didn't know what to expect but it was lovely. Lots of small taster dishes which included, scallops, prawns, giant pumpkin ravioli, chips, potatoes, chicken, pineapple and chilli, crab and a creame Brulae to finish. After this wee got ready and headed down to the brasserie bar. The bar had lots of little areas so you can get some privacy if you want. It was cosy and very Scottish feeling with the decor, including sporan tie backs for the curtains. We enjoyed lots of different cocktails and when we were fine we headed back to our room. In the morning we didn't have to check out till 12pm. And breakfast was on till 11am so we got ready at our own pace and headed for breakfast. We'd had the full breakfast and you could help yourself to anything from the continental breakfast to. We then checked out. We all really enjoyed our stay here and all the staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. They also have a spa but we didn't use this.

Staff is very friendly and helpful (and very discreet). Hotel is placed not far from centrum (5-10minutes by car, 15-20 minutes by bus). There is a park around so calm and privacy are matter of course. And they have a private parking lot. Rooms are big and clean with comfortable beds, armchairs, wardrobes, tv, safe and bathroom. It´s very luxury (at least those better ones). There is one restaurant, bar and library where you can drink or eat too if you want. It´s also perfect for private meetings. And there are also two big rooms for wedding receptions. Conferences usually take place in a separate building which is also located in the area of hotel park. Local meals are like a balm for the soul. It´s delicious, it looks perfect and together with interiors it really feels royal. And it doesn´t matter if it´s breakfast, lunch, dinner or just dessert with coffee. I was a biggest friend with a bartenders, obviously. Very good choice of whiskey. And when you drink in an that awesome bar, sitting in an armchair, you really feel like a lord at some private club in 19th century.
