Roselea Hotel

This is the first time I visit Aberdeen and I found this hotel on Expedia. Price is main reason…read morethat attracts me as I only pays about $55 on Expedia (US Dollars!) per night, even on weekends. I only paid about $220 from Thursday night to Monday morning in Mid June for a queen size bedroom. The bedroom is decently comfortable. There is a bus number 3 to downtown that makes the hotel is convenient. The bus takes about 30-45 mins from the hotel to downtown. The down side of this hotel is that there are not a lot of restaurant around except Burger King and IKEA cafe. But the price of food in restaurant is not expensive as entrees on average is £15-30.

The staff are really on the ball and anticipated all my questions at check in before I had a chance to ask them. They gladly summoned cabs which arrived promptly whenever required and the rooms were simply marvellous. Here's a wee list of my rooms attributes: Comfy beds, free WiFi, in room safety deposit box, iron and ironing boards, oodles of storage, non-fogging bathroom mirror great bath shower and products, flat screen TV, room service, nespresso machine and kettle, shortbread and highland spring water, dressing gown, slippers and more. They thought of everything! There's a swimming pool too and a friendly if expensive bar, and a restaurant that I didn't try. Plenty of free parking. Hey there's even an IKEA across the roundabout if you get bored. Only downside for me came at breakfast which was decent enough, but one of the staff members was excessively dour, coffee was slow to arrive and our used plates were sometimes left to stack up. All in all we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend a stay if the out of town location suits. Vegetarians note they offer veggie sausages on the breakfast buffet menu but presume you have to make a point of asking for them to be cooked to order. I couldn't be bothered waiting and there were plenty of other options on days that clumsy guests hadn't spilled bits of haggis into the tomatoes beans and mushrooms. Oh the trials of being vegetarian lol!

Salmon and Mornay(haddock) were perfectly prepared and delicious. Beer was cold, white wine as well and the treacle and chocolate mondant desserts were incredible.

All has been solved at Premier! Yay! I'm so thrilled to be able to leave this review from the hotel itself instead of scrounging it together at the next restaurant. I'm so thrilled to be able to lean back in my bed and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing night until it's time to turn off the lights. And a quiet one after that. Amazingly affordable for city centre, this is easily worth double, nae triple, the price to me after days of missing comforts. This place truly is the premier hotel in Aberdeen for your pence.

The room was nice and very well kept, the breakfast was great and huge (a bit too big for our small appetites), you will definitely not starve. We ended up spending a month there and felt welcome and well taken care of during our stay. would definitely stay again should the need arise.

But or is well known and recommended by residents in the area that suggested reservations would be difficult because if it's celebrity and liked seating. Entree of Angus beef was succulent , perfectly cooked and presented. Turbot entree was simply divine. Service was impeccable yet warm and welcoming. And the Scottish tablet served with dessert introduced us to The world of simple appearance but difficult preparation, with our host explaining the whimsy if it all. Very special Christmas Eve diner for us.

The Shepherds Rest used to be a great place to go for food and drinks. In years gone by you would…read morehave to wait an hour for a table and the bar would be packed. Unfortunately it has gone down hill and there are nicer places in Westhill to eat. The restaurant used to do blackboards full of specials but now there is a printed menu that does not change regularly. Food is average priced but not good value. Food is usually of a resonable standard but service is not great. There always seems to be a lot of staff on and the food takes an age to come out. However, they have recently introduced a set menu (currently 2 courses for £9) - this goes some way to providing better value meals but the set menu is not extensive. I would pay more and eat at other places in Westhill until the service is sorted. Not bad if you are staying in the hotel, it is raining and you get a spot by the real fire, otherwise there is better places to go to in the area.

Ive stayed at a few B&B's in the area, but the lost guest house - where did he get the name - is the one I will come back to.
