They speedily (less than 7 days start to finish) ushered us through a complicated process and made it clear and as easy as things like this can be. My ex and I felt supported every step of the way. Recently, my ex died. I needed a copy of the divorce papers amid COVID-19 conditions and Leslie offered to take care of that for me only charging me the court cost. This act of kindness and goodwill shows that Amicable Divorce Services is truly a class act. FOR SOME REASON MY ORIGINAL REVIEW DOES NOT SHOW. HERE IT IS: What to do when tax laws change and you need to get paperwork in to the court ASAP and a series of miscommunications leaves you very few days to do that AND needing an entirely new team? Leslie and Jimmy and the rest of the team jumped in feet first ready, willing, and able to make it happen! True, we needed to do our part and get a large amount of paperwork done in a short amount of time...but Leslie and her team made everything incredibly organized and clear and were open and available for questions. They turned on a dime and were able to prioritize our case so that we were able to do years worth of work in just a few days. On top of all that, they made us feel good. We went in expecting just to do the bare minimum, but ended up lovingly and easily addressing every issue! With Leslie's guidance. we both felt great about the process and the end result.

She canceled our first mediation 5 minutes after it was set to start. She would continually send invoices at strange, seemingly calculated times. The mediation fell apart and my ex and I are STILL in litigation. Leslie is unprofessional and seemed to play both sides of the case, not work to resolve it "amicably". I wish I could give zero or negative stars. DO NOT work with this mediator; there are plenty out there who actually understand what is required to finalize a case.

Unfortunately, once my case began, serious organizational and communication issues emerged. Although the complaint itself was well written, it was filed with the wrong court and contained an incorrect address. I was never informed of this mistake and had to discover it on my own. Correcting the issue required a change of venue, which cost me significant time and money for an error that was not mine. Communication throughout the case was inconsistent. At times, staff were responsive and reassuring; at other times, follow-up emails went unanswered and seemed to fall through the cracks. When I informed the firm that the opposing party was making threatening communications, my concerns did not appear to be taken seriously. After deciding to retain new counsel, I was surprised by how aggressively this firm interacted with my new attorney during the transition. Even more concerning, when my case files were transferred, I was mistakenly sent documents belonging to a different client. This raised serious concerns about their internal controls and confidentiality practices. I was also charged approximately $600 for work the firm claimed had been completed but which was never included in the file transfer. When I requested a refund, I was told the work had been done and that I would need to absorb the cost, despite having to pay my new attorney to redo it. Overall, this firm's lack of organization and efficiency ended up costing me more time, money, and stress than necessary. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend shopping around for other firms, even if they are located outside the Pasadena area.

As for the people who left bad reviews because they didn't get a response from back from him when they inquired: I don't think that's very fair. They should have checked his website for important, current information on his availability first before judging him. When I first looked for lawyers on Yelp, I saw the good reviews on him, and I went to his website. I appreciated that at that time on his website it stated clearly that he was full with current cases, and not accepting new ones. This means he's busy because he is excellent, not that he's too snobby to take your case or looking to make as much money as he can. If I had just looked up his phone number texted/called him at that time, I might not have been called back either. Instead I checked back every few weeks until I saw that his availability was open (the "not accepting new clients" notice was gone) and I promptly contacted him and became a happy client. If you are on the fence, check his website and contact him to see if he is available: you won't regret it.
