This place is a free art gallery at the end of Merchant's Row that's open to the public. Here, you can walk in and look around at all the art pieces. I reckon that the gallery doubles as a marketplace for art buyers, as there are price stickers attached to all the pieces. The art here is also quite expensive! (I suppose most fine art is. Makes sense.) There's something soothing about walking around the gallery. Perhaps it's just the small town atmosphere that fills the town. Edgewater is just so easily accessible if you ever find yourself wandering around in "downtown" Middlebury. It serves its purpose well as an art gallery, no complaints. (Though, I recall seeing plastic vegetables mounted on a wooden board being sold for several hundred dollars. Everybody's a critic, including me.) This place serves as a great way for local Vermont artists to get their name and work out there. I hope that when I come back, I'll see some new pieces-- otherwise, these artists likely aren't selling their work!

The owner Alex is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and is happy to share his knowledge of this wonderful fermented beverage and the process of making it. Alex is great company and his passion for creating delicious mead pours through in each representation the drink itself. His recipes are unique, delicious, and full of surprises. I came with a small group most of whom had never had mead before and were skeptical but by the end of the tasting Alex had made mead fans out of all of them. Really lovely gallery with a great selection of pieces, mostly paintings, from many local artists…read more Located right in the village of Lake Placid, so very convenient to take a little walk through as you're sampling the wares of other local shops. The price ranges vary widely across the pieces and I would estimate that most of the pieces run in the a few hundred to a few thousand dollar range - outside of our current budget unfortunately, but reasonable and expected given that they're original fine art pieces. If you are settled in a home and in a position to invest in a piece, this would be a great place to look for one - lovely variety, with many of the pieces obviously inspired from the surrounding natural beauty. My favorite pieces in the gallery were some lovely sculptures of otters hunting for trout - someday! As it is, I was able to purchase some lovely handmade copper earrings, which I'm very happy with. Would recommend a visit, whether to purchase a piece or just browse!
