First of all, I was amazed at Jarred's timeliness and diligence getting my work done. Alerting me daily, he was his way, not missing any day, and NO failure to show up. I called Jerrod a little after noon on a Wednesday when I was informed by my tenant that her water heater was leaking. Living in a very rural area it is sometimes difficult to find a reliable and responsible person to do services in a timely manner. Jerrod said he could do the job and would be on the way as soon as he picked up a new water heater. I didn't realize Jerrod was located in Kanawha County and my rental was in Raleigh County but Jerrod showed up and completed the work. As it turned out, he had to make another trip to swap water heaters do to space limitations. He also had to remove a door frame to get the new one installed which he did and replaced and repaired the door frame as well. Jerrod is very service oriented and is very professional and courteous. Paid to have sewage line and pipes under home repaired. Paid $2300 and still having problems. Sewage line in yard repaired by friends after Adkins said it was flowing fine. Now sewage under home leaking again after they said was fixed. Do not recommend. read more

They charged us for 3 1/2 hours of service, but we're only there for 1 1/2 hours. They claimed that included travel time, but I'm only 18 minutes from their shop. They charged a 2 hour minimum for use of their "eel" even though they used it for about 15 minutes. They charged a travel fee, service fee, and credit card fee. When I complained, they said, "Who doesn't ask for up-front pricing?" as if I were an idiot. Actually, I got the estimate from Angie (who is how I was connected with them) of $400. Stated $150/hour for 2 techs and $79 service fee plus parts needed, when they got there it became $125/per person, per hour and one was a "helper" not tech. Charged for a travel fee and a service call not agreed upon and up-charged the wax ring, one bolt and one supply line for $69. They charged 3 1/2 hours after telling us their truck broke and they had to go out for parts they would have carried on their truck. They weren't even there for 3 1/2 hours. It is not the customer's fault they didn't have the lines they needed. I am find paying a fair price but not hours over and for a trip to a hardware store for item they admitted they should have had already on them. I would not recommend this company. The WV AG's office did NOTHING but accept the written statement of Adkins Plumbing stating I never tried to contact them about the bill and that I was "happy" to sign it. I have two unanswered emails sent to them the next day and I was anything but "happy" when I signed it. Didn't realize signing meant "I'm happy"! Doesn't one have to sign traffic tickets even though you believe yourself to be innocent? I have sent a reply to the AG's office. What will happen? Probably nothing. They don't really do anything for the people abused by dishonest businesses. read more
