I have received a copy of the complaint made against me personally and my business, Malwitz Bookkeeping Services, LLC by ****** *******. While not all of the allegations Mr. ******* made in his complaint are true, I did assist my client in collecting amounts owed by Mr. *******. I was not aware that by assisting my client in collecting her outstanding invoices, I was violating Minnesota law. Had I known what I was doing was against the law I would not have assisted my client in this way. As you and my attorney discussed, now that I know that collection activity on behalf of my clients is something that requires a license and registration with the Department of Commerce, I will not be engaging in any of that type of activity. I realize that if I do act as a collection agency without first being properly licensed, your Department may impose sever penalties against my business and me.
