They cater for large groups and also offer mini tours of the brewery which is always fun and getting to sample their hard work once the tour is over. It has a more than ample outdoor seating area at the front which is great, and even though this is a small little gaff, I have never waited long to be served, even when a mass crowd of bikers turn up on mass to enjoy this little local gem.

Chicken and leek pie (delicious when prepared well) had so little meat (and not a hint of leek). Sausages were so over cooked they were bone dry inside. Even the (huge portion) of mash potato was completely bland. This is the kind of food that gives the U.K. a bad reputation. Added to that, the on draft Coke was flat within 2 minutes, and they even lit the log fire when it was a muggy 70 degrees outside, which made no sense. May be worth a beer here but go elsewhere if you want good food.

Friendly patrons & staff - no issues within the place that I have ever seen. Has different areas of the pub which means different groups of people have their own 'area'. Pub has occasional theme nights, live music, discos and karaoke. A Sunday quiz every week that is friendly and fun. Prices are competitive and cheaper than some of the competition. Food is good value, drink is good. Highly recommend!

The people who drink in the Railway know that they can go in at any time of the day or night & not feel out of place whether they are "designer-clad" or just popping in for a few beers after work, everybody receives the same warm welcome from the staff & licencees alike.
