I attended a three day EEO training course in Special Emphasis Program Management in September…read more2018, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Graduate School USA. The training course was so bad that I left two days into the three-day course, and received a full refund. The instructor made major errors in teaching us basic EEO law. I focused on EEO in law school, have passed the bar exam, and have been working in EEO law for around 2 years now; I am definitely not an expert, but I am very familiar with basic and intermediate EEO law. For example, the instructor seemed unaware of major EEO developments like sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination being protected under Title VII. To non-EEO folks, this is the equivalent of teaching astronomy but not having heard about Pluto's planetary status getting revoked. She also explicitly told a class of federal employees advice that, if followed, would make an Agency liable for failing to reasonably accommodate an individual with a disability. The instructor barely covered the course modules, and only did so on the most basic levels. She would skim a paragraph of the course book, summarize it to us, and then ask the class if they had any personal experiences to share. The majority of the class time was thus devoted to hearing student anecdotes, many of which were not related to EEO law. Some of the anecdotes also relied on racial and gendered stereotypes and denigrated individuals with disabilities. For example, one student went on an extended tangent about how she believes that "young, millennial women" in the federal workforce intentionally flirt with or seduce high-level older male managers, tempt the men into reciprocating their advances, and then file spurious sexual harassment complaints to receive large payouts. Myself and two other female students were the only millennial-aged people in the room, and previous complaints about "millennials" in the workforce were sometimes made while looking directly at us. I was uncomfortable that this statement was made at all in a professional educational environment, let alone in an EEO course, and that the instructor seemed to agree with it. The only good thing is that Graduate School USA management refunded the $999.00 cost of the training.

Its easily accessible right off the L'Enfant metro station on Maryland Ave. Just go up the escalator and its right in front of you next to the Wells Fargo Bank. My only issue during my time here was that when it was time for me to print out something there printers were having problems. So I took a star off for that. Overall the place is very clean and the staff all courteous. Now to the class. Again, the instructor was amazing. She made learning the material fun and I was engaged the whole entire time. All book material and exercises done was relevant to my job and my profession and she was well knowledgeable in the subject matter. I would definitely recommend taking a class here if you are looking to advance in your career, change careers or looking to earn additional CPE credits.
