We often shop at Adonis - fresh produce and interesting Mediterranean foods. But today I was irked ... bought some Natura soy milk on sale but saw later on my bill it was swiped at the regular price (double). Not worth the effort to go back. Irked me enough to write this. I got two boiled lobsters yesterday evening and today when eating them, the meat of one of them was falling apart. After I ate it, something was bugging me so I googled it. It said the meat is falling apart because the lobster was dead before was boiled. I am worried if I should expect a food poisoning or not. Two weeks ago, I got there to buy some lobsters and most of them were half dead in the aquarium, so I went to a different store. Very worried and unhappy I chose Adonis for lobsters. read more

I bought one of their impressive looking pistachio cakes. It was awful - as stale as stale can be and was totally flavorless. I thought it might've just been a one time thing so the other day I bought four little pastry/cakes. Again, same thing, hardcore stale! They were hard and super dried out. They were so bad, I threw them out which is what the store should have done days ago. God knows how long they were sitting there. For me, that speaks volumes about the store's quality control and integrity. They have no business selling such garbage. I shudder to think what their meat is like. read more

BEWARE: You will find a price in their flyer but in the store they have a different price and that goes for many items. Ex Today, Jan. 14, 2023, I went to the store to buy a Romain lettuce which appears ontheir flyer at $2.99 but in the store the price was $3.99. So double check wverything because they are fooling us. read more

I thought this place belongs to Metro so I assumed it will have Metro's quality. I purchased meat pies in plastic container. The top 2 were perfect . The four under are un edible. read more

She's a worker at Adonis , her name is Ibtissam S. she claims she's a manager , She was working the cash register 1-8 items It was my turn in her line of cash registry , she started scanning my first item , then she saw someone she knows behind me, that was grabbing 1 item of food to eat at the food eating area , she didn't want him to wait, she asked me if she can get him to go first , I said I'm sorry but I have guests arriving at my place in 15 minutes and I'm in a hurry to get home , then she got really disrespectful and very loud told me I had more than 8 times , and how she was kind to take me on her register , and that I'm not allowing that person to pass and get to his eating his food , making me feel bad and ashamed that I didn't get him to pass before me , that arguing took a good 3 minutes , and when she saw I wasn't gonna change my mind , she started scanning my items very fast and untidy while speaking in Arabic cursing and with an attitude that made me and clients feel unappreciated for our business , just because Ibtissam S. decided she wants to play God and act upon it , it was my turn and my right to be first to leave and get to my friends, but she decided someone else was better than me to go first , I asked to see the manager , she then says to me "I'm not getting you a manager , go look for one " , then a co-worker was around , I asked him who the manager is ? He looks at her , he paused , I don't know what she did behind my back , then he said she's the manager , I looked back at her and said " why didn't you say you're the manager after I asked you to speak to a manager ?" She replies in a very sarcastic way , "well now you know who the manager is, have a good day " What a way to deal with clients , Adonis you should be ashamed to hire such people read more

My family and I love eating and shopping at Adonis! The food is wo nderful, flavorful, and generously portioned. The shawarma anf shish aouk are great. The roasted chickens are really great as well and come witha large pita and two cups of garlic sauce which is a nice touch. The desserts are beautiful amd very tasty (rhum balls yum!) Irs a great environment, clean, friendly staff. Huge selection of produce. I ewuate it to having a Whole Foods/Trader Joe's in Gatineau! A great wholesome place! read more

Absolutely love the store, especially the freshly cooked items. As a Lebanese I can attest that all the on-site made meals taste as amazing as If purchased on the streets of Beirut. I mean, who sells a full rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce and pita bread for 9$? That being said, a lot of the freshly made items are traditional Middle Eastern dishes and those not well acquainted with that type of cuisine might not enjoy it as much - it's garlic heavy. Another great thing is that one would be hard pressed to find better deals then the ones they offer, especially on produce. The Pâtisserie is also amazing. I introduced my Irish Canadian Mother-in-Law to their knéfés (she'd never had it before) and she loved it. Two thumbs up from this gal. read more

I was waiting for Adonis to open one in Ottawa. I went yesterday to the store, I wanted first to try some stuff. I bought baklava, bestachian, some cheese rolls, and keba with meet and vegetarian. I was surprised how horrible was the taste of all of them. I really was disappointed, not even one item was tasty. I will never go back again. read more
