Now... I took my mother there for a wig (medical reasons). Doreen helped us out. She was AMAZING. I cannot say enough kind words about this lady. Mom was anxious prior to going in and Doreen made the entire experience wonderful. She helped mom find a wig that looked natural (both in color and style), was honest, so warm and upbeat. She made the entire trip such a great time. Full disclosure: We originally were looking for real human hair wigs. This store does not carry them. Synthetic only.... however... they do carry very good quality synthetic wigs and have the products to help you care for them. With Doreen's help, we found a perfect wig that mom loved. It's so natural looking and the color is spot on to her natural color. All of the ladies there were very sweet and caring. I would highly suggest this shop for any lady in need of the items I listed above like a wig, but especially if you need them because of an illness. These ladies are so understanding and caring. There are a few things I need to mention.... Booth doors are now high. This makes me nervous people…read moreare going to peek under. In the past, I called and was called "another crazy" when the manager was called to the phone. That disrespect even prevented me from purchasing products, known to be cheaper here than other locations. Businesses should never judge. Word gets around fast, if they do. The place was raided multiple times or robbed too many times. This alone scares me. Thats why the one guy sits in his car at night, when I go by. When in the groove, it is not good to constantly hear "I don't see tokens dropping" or "everyone get in your booth" and even "one person per booth" on the loud speaker. It's kinda a distraction. Also demeaning. You would not have an arcade if you really wanted some of these things. I often ride a bike. There is no place to lock it up. That could help some customers. If these do change and I hear peoples' experiences have changed.... I will revise this rating upward. One of my boyfriend's DOES go in back. So he would give me the truth. As for the hours.... Liquor license, but don't sell. Other Lucas County stores have this to be open 24 hrs. That store hops at night, after most close, especially the arcades. Reply to Steve B: If high doors are law, why don't the other locations have them? Other locations throughout Lucas County and Toledo have doors 4-6" off the floor. And you used to have tokens that clogged "G&L" machines, hence their signs. This was during the original GH days, before they were shut. No, I'm not confused. This was the 1990's and early 2000's. Register and counter were moved a few times since I was in, I'm sure. I also remember the dollar bills too. The robberies still make me nervous. She also accommodated my groups taste and made sure everyone was happy. The not so good part was that I gave my budget and the 2 dresses that I really ended up liking were $1000 over the budget I gave her, so I'm not sure why I was even asked for a budget... The real reason for the 2 star review is that the dress that I liked, an Essence of Australia gown was anywhere from $300 - $700 cheaper at the other bridal stores that I called who are authorized retailers. Being so far from Columbus (or anywhere) I expected them to be at least cost competitive to the other Ohio retailers from this brand (I mean, why go all the way to Kenton to then pay more?!?). If you are looking for an Essence Dress I would recommend Wendy's in Columbus, or Louise Christine (about the same drive) in Dayton, as they were cheaper for all 3 dresses I inquired about.
