The hands on may have been a bit intimidating for some, but for me, it was money well spent. The course was $80, took almost 6 hours, and you were never falling asleep. If you are looking for course requirements for a CWP in Florida good for most of the Southeast, this was a great way to spend the morning. There are a variety of times that the course is offered. It is a small venue, small classes, and excellent experienced instructor. Retired law enforcement he had even written up one of the attendees for a motor vehicle violation a few years ago!!!!!!

No pressure to get your shooting done and to leave. I suppose if you needed more than 3 hours, they wouldn't care. 2. It's outside, and open style range type. I'm not cramped up in a little stall. 3. There is someone there (Eric), but no one is up your ass acting Fudd. It appears like Eric isn't always looking at everyone, but do something unsafe or break the rules, he seems to be on it right away, leaving you wondering, where the hell did he pop out from. Eric is very helpful and he always has a trick up his sleeve if your gun has a problem. I have learned a thing or two from him each time I have been there. He is also very nice and patient. 4. Speaking of Fudd. AK, AR, legal full auto, rapid fire, exploding targets-all ok. They leave the Fudd to the other ranges I've been. That being said, I'd bring your own IFAK--you are a long ways from nowhere with a bumpy slow road for an ambulance to get there if an accident happened. Remember, you are your own First Responder. The Downsides( or what I might call what to watch out for). 1. You should have a truck or SUV to make it out there. Road is bumpy and muddy. Your vehicle will be dirty. 2. This is not the place to go if you are a first time shooter or a non shooter. As someone else stated, this is not the place I would bring a kid. You are going to hear rapid fire, explosions, and you are going to get hit by many ejecting shell casings when you are up on the line. (bring your own eye and hearing protection). It is very easy to feel like you are in a fire fight on a battlefield when standing up on the line and everyone is shooting at once, esp. if there are a lot of shooters and a few have compensators on the end of their guns. You're gonna "feel" the concussion from multiple angles, at mutilple rates of fire and a new shooter might find this disconcerting. 3. Bathroom situation sucks. Be prepared to piss in the weeds. Works for me, but might not work with the ladies. 4. Bring everything you need. You will need bug spray. Prolly also need some suncreen. Bring your own refreshments. I mean bottled water too. Obviously, bring your guns (there's no rentals), and bring all your own ammo. They might have a target for you, but don't count on it. I always bring my own. Bring shoes that you won't mind getting muddy. That place can get very muddy. 5. Bring cash. $20/person. They don't take credit cards. 6. It's an eclectic crowd. All demographics on site and accepted. Everyone I have met there is nice/friendly. Most are willing to help you. That being said, one group I have seen there which I don't care for is, there are always a couple of people drinking there. In such cases, when those people are shooting on the line, I just stay back at my table until they are done. Just my belief-alcohol and guns just don't mix. You are going to have fun here.
