100% Worth the drive to Homestead, even though I have ranges a few minutes from the house. The team here are true professionals. I came here with my brother and some friends and my main concern was safety, as some of them were new to shooting. Seeing how well they ran things really made me feel comfortable. Not only that, the range is large, well maintained, and run with safety. I brought my own paper targets, as well as eye and ear protection. I know they rent eye and ear protection, not sure if they rent targets but it's good to find out first. When the range is clear you get a chance to staple your targets to posts and move them to your desired distance, oh I also brought a stapler. These can be found for a low price online. They probably have one onsite as well. From the check-in process, to the orientation, to the range master, every part of our firearms practice was flawless. I look forward to my next visit. Decided on trying this outdoor range on the suggestion of a friend of mine. The prices are reasonable, the range officers are helpful and maintain the zone in a safe condition and the different shooting areas are spacious and well managed. Overall, I enjoyed this outdoor range and hope to come back to fine tune a few more scopes. The only negative is you need to be a member to park next to the shooting area but that's not too terrible. On 10/26/25 I participated in the shotgun class. It was more than I expected. This class is better suited for the individual that has practical experience using one. Just know the basics of how to manipulate your shotgun using the safety and action. You will get so much more out the class by doing so. You will learn the basics of proper stance, different styles and types of ammunition etc. The instructor John Harris is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share it with you. Its probably not fair to call him an instructor, he is more of a teacher; patient and wanting you to truly learn. I highly recommend taking this class you wont be disappointed. Just renewed my membership at HTC today and it now costs $200. That's $50 more than last year, a rather shocking 33% price increase that came with no warning. Same percentage increase applies for the cost of renting a bay (was $30, now $40) and for the cost per session (was $15, now $20). Inflation is one thing, but 33%???!!! HTC offers nice facilities and good staff, but that's quite a salty bill. read more

Amazing range! Once you drive through all the crazy pot holes getting there it's like arriving at an Oasis. It is the nicest range I've used in my 20 years in the Coast Guard. Nicest part is their very clean bathrooms. read more

My friends and I participated in the Carbine I course offered by Homestead Training Center and taught by their Instructor Will S. The entire day was epic! The grounds were perfectly set up on our arrival and offered many different challenges. Our instructor Will, was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and has no tolerance for unsafe activity. This morning I took ride to Homestead Training Center, I have to say lot better facilities then Markham Park in Sunrise, well worth the ride down. The range are perfect for shooting any distance and they 500 yards if want to try your skills. After 6 weeks in the house I had the best 3 hours at the range. Please be advised visiting the range now you need a face mask, and bring water or soda, didn't see any vending machines, so bring snacks and make it a picnic. read more

Went there for the first time yesterday and immediately fell in love with it. The Range Master took us on a tour in his golf cart Became a member, shot at the 100 yard rifle range to qualify and moved on to the long range shooting at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yard. The RSO at the long range keeps the steel targets up with fresh paint so you can see your point of impact without any problems. You don't even need a spotter. Everything is well maintained and looking nice. Many different options to shoot and every employee we met was extremely nice. Now here is a additional bonus: we had about 20+ F-16 fighter jets take off less than 300 yard from the range during the 4 hours we were there. Absolutely amazing!!!! This is my third time here at HTC, I had will for 2 private lessons and for the most recent one was the Defensive Knife/ Combative Pistol course..Will is one of the best instroctors I have ever had....very professional, patient, knows his stuff and he will spend the extra time so you know and set how your stuff...Louis was a very good instructor as well on the Defensice Knife course...They both are worth every minute of tranning with them....I live in Key West and its a 3 hour drive to HTC and its worth the drive!!! I wish I could give this place 3.5 instead of 3. Overall, very good range. a lot of options to shoot. Be prepared to sit through a safety brief even if you've been there before, including visiting 2 weeks in a row and having to sit through it. A "Patron Card" or computer records system is not expensive or hard to do... and would make getting out to the range quicker. If you are not a member get ready to carry your gear to the ranges. Members are allowed to park at the range, but if you are not a member you have to park outside and walk all your gear in. This is a hassle when you are showing up with 3-4 riffles to sight in. Add all that weight + ammo, spotting scope etc... and it's multiple trips before you're taking a single shot. With the ranges being limited in size, I don't see why everyone can't park closer to the range. They have a pair of 100 yard ranges, although I have never seen both available at the same time, and I have seen people told that there is a wait to shoot at 100, when one of the ranges is just empty. Probably lack of staff to open both. There are also 25 yard ranges where you can shoot rifle and pistol as you wish. The staff is pretty good, generally very polite. I wish the RSO's would pay a little more attention at the firing line. I have had to ask people to step away from the shooting benches while the range was cold more than once, and I really would expect the Range Safety Officers to be more attentive in that sense. No one should be handling a firearm while other people are down range. They should also ask the guest what they plan on shooting. I have seen people that are shooting .22lr on the 100yd range sat between 2 guys shooting 300 win mag and 308 with very aggressive muzzle breaks. The person in the middle just gets abused by the muzzle blast the entire time. Not fun at all, and I am sure not an enjoyable experience. It would be nice if they sat all of the guys with massive muzzle breaks next to each other, and save a couple spots on the other end for smaller caliber. Maybe consider building some wood dividers that can be place next to the shooting bench. They offer a 500yd range, but you have to be a member to shoot there. I have been out there as a guest of a member and it is a nice set-up. Only place down here in South Florida that I know of with a 500yd range. I will continue to visit as this really is the best option in South Florida (Miami), and if they make some improvements I will very likely become a member! read more

Good range that is currently transitioning management. The price is great. The place is a lttle rough around the edges but very functional and purpose built. Of course, if it was too nice they'd have to raise the fees.They seem to be making many of improvements right now. Reactive targets and other cool stuff no one else has in South Florida. They also have a wide array of classes and instruction for all levels that are priced very well. I took a class and I learned quite a bit. I will be taking more in the future. Seems the success of any range often lies in the hands of the staff and range masters. 1 bad range master can give a place a bad reputation and ruin the experience for many. Good range masters shouldn't espouse their personal preferences as gospel or try to act like they know more than everyone even if they do. Unfortunately the ranges and training facilities tend to attract some macho types. It would be nice if they introduced a feedback system for members to review range masters. It would help them hire the best and remove any that get a lot of complaints. My personal experiences have been positive but it seems other reviewers have had different experiences. read more

I had one of the best outdoor shooting experiences ever. Upon entering the facility the staff was eager to help us and very friendly. I used the 25 meter range as well as the 100 meter range. Very safe and professional environment. In my opinion it's the best outdoor range in South Florida. I extremely picky about ranges. Safety is paramount to me and I always call it as I see it. We are winter Floridians and I've been shooting USPSA and IDPA matches in the Miami area for the past ten years. At first there was only Markham Park in Ft. Lauderdale (nice range and friendly folks but all stages must be shot on one big bay) and Trail Glades (all the stages had to be shot on one small bay and some of the ROs didn't even know the rules). Then the Longshot range in Homestead opened up. It was a big improvement and I gave in four stars. Then it changed ownership, became the Homestead Training Center and added more bays. I upped my review to five stars. Finally a great range in the Miami area for USPSA and IDPA. Lots of nice bays and most even have side berms. Same friendly folks to shoot with. I love it! If you enjoy USPSA and/or IDPA you will too. read more

Great facilities no matter what you're looking for! To hold or attend the class, they've got classroom and range facilities. To run a match, they've got multiple bays and are adding more. To do personal training, with the right credentials, you can rent a bay and set up your own thing. Membership price is reasonable! Go check it out! I've done it all there. I shoot relatively often, between 6 to 8 times a month, and shoot at different ranges in South Florida, and I love it down at Homestead Training Center. I take a 45 min drive in the Turnpike to get here but it is very worth it. The ranges are awesome and the pricing is incredible. I've been shooting here for about a month and have noticed that the customer service is fantastic. The staff, from the front desk to the RSOs, have been nothing but friendly and helpful. After nearly 15 visits and numerous classes here's what you need to know: Ranges are nice RSO's are friendly and focus on safety and are good with maintenance Joe the RSO especially is excellent Prices are good and worth the trip Here's what I feel: Very poor customer service. The front desk staff for the most part are not welcoming and pleasant. I found the young girl with dyed red hair to have a nasty disposition and attitude. If I've been a member before and paid to take classes I don't need to sit through a safety briefing. Keep my DL# on file and note that I've taken the briefing so I don't need to do it each time. The front desk staff are almost militant and rude about not being a member. Also, when it's 100 degrees don't make the shooter park in the front and walk all the way to the range. Let's be realistic and rational here with your benefits. The reason Wal Mart and Target have greeters at the front is that they are the very first interaction the customer has with the business so they want it to be positive. The front desk people could smile and be pleasant to guests when they walk in. Remember we're the paying customer. I guarantee you'll sell more if you treat people better. I see other people have said the same thing here. Also, one email per week is plenty. Plan ahead, get organized and put everything you want to say in one email. No one wants to get emails every day and sometimes two at a time. Nice range but needs help in the overall business and staff area. read more

The range is beautiful and the facility is very well maintained. The staff leaves something to be desired. On our first visit we were told we had damaged some targets. Our group didn't argue and we paid for all the targets (full price, tax, shipping). The way we were treated by the office manager was terrible. This place is awesome their are so many things to do here. You could shoot at steel , rapid fire, and holster fire with pistol. On rifle it has a 500 yard range. My favorite is the fourth Sunday of every month at 8:30 am is the 22lr competition. In that competition you go through 6 different coarse of fire all steel and get timed and they put it in their website and you get ranked very fun. You can do it with a 22 rifle or pistol or both. Ok, here we go! I NEVER go out of my way to make reviews but sometimes it has to be done. I've been coming here for a while. I've brought numerous law enforcement departments and military personnel, including well known clients of mine. I LOVE the range itself. I drive an hour and a half twice a week just to shoot here. I've decided to stop going after all that I've invested in this place from money, time, and promotion. EVERY TIME I go it's like pulling nails , just to get a respectable response from the front desk staff. I get attitude the second I say a SINGLE word. I'm honestly the nicest to EVERYONE but for some reason the ladies who run the front aren't the most welcoming. I have thick skin and could care less about how people react to me, but enough is enough when you keep getting dicked around. The ones who used to work the front were the reason i even joined. They made the experience that much better just because they had a smile on always. I try not to be confrontational so that's why I am writing a review and not returning the attitude that is given to me in person. I love this range, just not the people. The RSO's are great, the range itself is amazing but the staff up front need to go. If you don't like your job, just quit. I hope to one day go back and still be able to refer clients, but as of right now. I can't invest anymore into this range. read more
