I did some research to find out more about the doctor prior to making the appointment. It turns out, Dr Vinci had been the team chiropractor and sports medicine guy for the Islanders. Perfect...he would understand the injury as well as what my son needs to be able to do to get back to playing as soon as possible. I called for an appointment and was given a link to his web site where I could download forms to fill out prior to the visit. This definitely helped cut down on the time spent in the office filling out paper work. Since it was our first visit he was not able to see us that day however, he did ask if it was an emergency. If it was, he would get us in. We opted to wait for the first available day to allow for a full initially consultation...which was just in 2 days. When we arrived at his his office, the parking area is small, and can only accommodate about 6 cars comfortably...but since it doesn't appear that he overbooks, that should not be an issue. The receptionist was friendly and took care of some additionally paperwork, and promptly got us into the consultation room. We waited there about 5 minutes before Dr. Vinci walked in and introduced himself. Immediately we felt comfortable with him. He asked my son and I questions regarding how and when the injury occurred. He was very patient in explaining the injury to us and answered all of our question. After the consultation he wanted to examine my son. Dr Vinci made my son fell very comfortable with how he addressed him and made him feel part of the process, explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. We walked away with a better understanding of what the injury was and what was causing the pain. It's rare to find a medical professional these days that make you feel confident in their abilities, and more rare to find one that you feel really cares. We got that from Dr Vinci.

I said my husband was a patient there. I explained I had a back issue. She kept interrupting saying she didn't understand why I was calling. Which, immediately made me feel uncomfortable. I'm seeking treatment because I'm in pain and a little kindness goes a long way. I said I would like to make an appointment. She said for chiropractic you don't need a prescription. I said I can't and wouldn't see a chiropractor for my diagnosis. She then went into what I already knew. She said you need a prescription for physical therapy first, then she could make my appointment. I then asked how does your physical therapy work, because there is not a lot of one on one time. She again was confused, these were her words. Not mean. I heard this place was so great and different. Even your website touts that. I have a $15 copay. He instructed his staff tell me my copay is $40. I said no it isn't, I always pay $15 no matter where I go for medical reasons. Here's a little background. I was told I have to show him my private documents from EOB from my health insurance holder. Those are private documents and not for him to view if I don't want him to. But he insisted on seeing them and I kept telling him no! Keep in mind Dr Forman is in my plan he must Obeid by the plan's rules/amount of copayment. Or else he is in violation of the terms of the contract with the insurance company he himself agreed to when joining into the plan. When my health Insurance rep called him with me on the phone. She asked him why he is charging me more than my copayment actually is ($15.) Dr Forman's exact words were " would you work for what your plan pays out?" My health insurance rep said, "your legally and contractually bonded to that amount and not allowed to charge more. You're in our network and under contract." We'll he didn't like that, he got nasty fast and hung up in her face. I had to fight with him (figuratively speaking) for two copays that he knowingly and willingly overcharged me for. Of which in time he unwilling paid back to me only because he knew he was caught! red handed. I later came to find I was not the only person he has been doing this too. I have to mention how he unethically, rudely, insultingly and disrespectfully in the company of others be they staff or patients as me. treats his staff. He absolutely is rude and disrespectful. PS, his so-called billing lady is never in the office, because there is no billing lady as he states.
