DAMPCO undertook extensive work at my property on the recommendation of my builder. It is a very busy street and I was legally liable for damage to persons or their property, eg. a woman passing by with a pram on her way to the school opposite the house. The builder finally got the owner of the company to come and view after missed appointments. He said the pipe should be re-routed and that was done. I paid the bill - around the £6,000 mark - immediately after completion of the job. However it then took 6 months for me to get a proper guarantee for the work. The reason this was important was that I had been told that the water pump needed servicing every 6 months and I wanted to ensure that I maintained the conditions of the guarantee. The builder thought that this was rather frequent so I made many phone calls and sent recorded delivery letter to ask about the need to service and the cost from DAMPCO. No reply ever. The company has refused to answer questions and has clearly not shown interest or consideration of customers or aftercare of their products. This is a company which, once it has your cash, you may as well forget about. Damp proofing is a long term and expensive piece of work to undertake so do not take any risks.

I was looking for a driveway to be constructed. What we had was a joint front lawn, with wall, bushes and a tree stump to be removed. Uneven ground sloping down. All groundworks were completed exactly as we wanted in fact Danny's suggestions made the final tarmac driveway with brick edging and ACO drainage. With additional roof downpipe water run off pipe laid. Tippercrete also removed a 19 foot long wall that was leaning dangerously to an adjoining property and also dug for me a cubic meter hole for a mast construction. I highly recommend Tippercrete, Danny and Karl will for sure provide the groundworks that you need.

Had Stuart out 5 years ago to imprint a large front side and rear drive. All of it has cracked…read more I've asked him a couple if times to fix it. He sent a guy once who made it look worse than before. I have packed and back filled 3 drain covers as these were done really poorly. The shoddy installation of below specification drainage channels has led to the channels collapsing which was only discovered after the aggregate underneath had been washed into the foul drains and caused a huge back up of poo. Which is the word that best describes the quality of installation. It's not a complicated process and it's as easy to do it right as it is to do it wrong- if you can be bothered. Would not recommend- steer clear

Disappointing. One…read moreof the things they didn't tell me in the sales pitch was that a centimeter wide 'gash' would be cut through my driveway to allow for expansion. I knew nothing about this until I came out and saw the damn thing, this gash was cut right through the pattern and is horribly obvious (the only saving grace is that my car is often parked over it). They filled it with clear silicone, no attempt was made to even match up the colour of the driveway. They made an ungodly mess of my newly rendered walls while throwing the colour onto the concrete, most has washed off but some areas will have to have the paint touched up. Again, during the sales process no mention as to how the colour is applied and that my walls and garage (and the inside because they left the doors open) would be covered in grey powder. The concrete on the kerbing adjacent to the road has crumbled and cracked in places, less than 2 months after being laid. I found litter (drink cans, half eaten sandwiches and wrappings) thrown into the hedgerows opposite my home where they had been parked. They failed to rope off the driveway (the full length of which is open to the road) as a result someone reversed over it and damaged the wet seal. This then had to be re-done, but it was only me refusing to pay the final balance that got them there to do it, I then had to borrow some barriers off a neighbour to ensure I didn't have a repeat of the 'reversing incident' because again they failed to rope off the area. There are three inspection covers on the driveway, they managed to lose the screws for one, and therefore has not been screwed back into place. Although to be fair it does seem secure. I was told this work was guaranteed, I've asked for the documents for this but nothing has been forthcoming. On the plus side the driveway does look a lot better than it was and I'm no longer dragging gravel into the house, into the car and garage, but I have to be careful not to look too closely at the finish.

If like me, you are wondering if the mix is any good, i can confidently tell you that it is. If fact, i thought the volumetric mixer is brilliant. It uses a simple but very effective system to mix the concrete how ever you want it. Its also very controlable, i.e. stop, starts to fill up wheelbarrows and with out any mess. As for BestMix (Long Eaton), the service was spot on, the driver was frendly and experienced and the price was very good. I'm not a builder, but i've got many years of experience with doing my own projects. Therefore, i can recommend BestMix, and i'll be using them again when the need arises.

They had great references and from the work they did it's clear to see why. We needed some extra units built for our stand at the Autumn Fair this year but they had to exactly match those we had had built previously and they did such a bang up job of it that we were unable to tell the new units from the old ones. The staff there constructed the stand were friendly and very helpful and able to lend us tools we needed in the setting up of our stand. A good company that I would recommend to anyone should they need a bespoke stand built.
