What impressed me was that he provided alternatives instead of immediately suggesting surgery, which would have required a six-week recovery. Many years later, after undergoing physiotherapy at Sportsmed, my shoulder has become much stronger, and I managed to avoid surgery altogether. This is what good doctors do; they communicate honestly and provide information rather than just directives. They are candid about recovery times and the overall outlook and implications of the various options. They also have specialisations in different areas of the body, which enhances their knowledge to share with patients. This is crucial for me, as I couldn't afford to take six weeks off from my regular training routine. I give them five stars; I am very impressed.

I was extremely frightened when I was told by the Sportsmed surgeon that I definitely needed surgery and that I would have to stay overnight at their hospital. Knowing me, all the worst case scenarios and uncertainties flooded my brain. However, after the experience, I would like to exclaim that Sportsmed SA is nothing less than my SUPERHERO. So, my overnight stay at their hospital - I cannot forget that night, even though it happened a few years ago. It was on a weeknight, so I understood that only my Dad, my eldest brother and my best friend could visit, as most of my friends had work. If you ever visit someone close in their hospital bed, you will be like a "knight in shining armour" in our eyes, because there's nothing like a loved one visiting you when you are at one of the absolute rock bottom moment/s of your life. It means a lot to the patient that you are there with them. There's really no other word to describe my experience here other than "Thank God!" I was extremely grateful for all the health professionals that constantly looked after me from start to finish. I love your surgeon who gave me my life back I love how your Anaesthetists and nurses reduced my throbbing pain significantly I love your clean hospital beds I love how professional and honest you were towards me I love how you performed the surgery perfectly I love how I was only there for one night and was ready to go home the next day I love the constant attention and care from several of your nurses I love every staff member who met me and made sure I got out perfectly okay I love how everyone was there for me, supporting me, lifting me back up when I was so down and upset And mostly, I was so grateful to be able to walk out (one x-ray, blood loss, only one surgeon consultation needed, and 24 hours later throwing up massive amounts of fluids into a bucket) with the aid of crutches, albeit on a bad limp, and go back home. My surgeon's diagnosis? I will be back playing the sports I love within 9-12 months. Which did definitely happen, with the help of their physiotherapist, I played one of the best games of my life within a few weeks of my return. God, I am so thankful for being able to walk again. Ever since that life-changing experience, I have never taken my body's functions for granted, and have treated my body with absolute care everyday. (And that's why I have nothing but high appreciation for what surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and other health professionals do on a daily basis.)

This is the second time I've visited Deraly to get my eyebrows tattooed. Yes, you read that right…read more- I get my eyebrows tattooed. Believe me, drawing eyebrows on every day takes too much of my valuable time ;) When I first came to see Deraly, about 4 years ago, she was on Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. This new place is gorgeous - a lovely restored old house/mansion on King William Road. Deraly has been doing 'permanent' make-up for many many years, and her technique is amazing. I previously visited another well-known salon who used the 'soft-tap' method, and that is horrible (lots of bleeding!!) - Deraly doesn't use this - she uses an actual tattoo gun, which is much more precise, and there is less healing time. Permanent make-up (which really should be called 'semi-permanent make-up') lasts a couple of years, and fades as time goes by. Mine done 4 years ago were still there, but very very faded. It's better to get them touched up every year (for a reduced rate). Deraly's work is brilliant - even though I don't have natural-looking eyebrows, she did exactly what I asked for, and did a very neat job! With her method I've had hardly any swelling, and can go back after 4-6 weeks for a touch-up if needed. Highly recommended!

The girls are very professional and really know their stuff. The rooms where you get the laser done are always spotlessly clean. Getting laser hair removal done was something I'd always thought about, and I was a bit nervous at first, but they were able to answer all my questions and explain how it all works. I'm so glad that I've done it now, the thing I love the most is that I don't have to consider if I've shaved my legs when choosing an outfit for the day! Don't know why I put it off for so long. Booking in for an appointment is usually pretty easy, but I've found that you need to book in advance if you want the evening appointments. Getting a park here on King William Rd is usually pretty easy as it's located in a quieter section of the road.

I started with getting Laser for my under arms and bikini two years ago and then returned December last year to start Botox because the staff are always so friendly and did such a good job with my laser that it was the only place i would consider getting Botox. I met the nurse and the Dr and was so happy, they made me feel really comfortable and were so professional. Ive now had my crows feet and mouth done. I'm so happy with the result. Its such a natural look that people just say to me how fresh i look, and no one has guessed I've had work done!!! Amazing. I also travel around Adelaide for work so the fact that they have multiple clinics works for me to, and I can meet the same nurse at any clinic!!

I can walk off the street on an impulse and not have to wait more than a few minutes to be seen. Obviously what they specialise in here is eyebrows, but they offer a range of other services too - full face threading, henna tattooing and eyelash and eyebrow dyeing to mention a few. There are often bundled specials too that help you save a bit of cash here and there. And if you get a loyalty card every 10th treatment is free! If you've never had your eyebrows threaded before, basically the stylist uses a cotton thread held in her teeth to wrap around the hairs and pull them out. I'm not going to lie - it does hurt! But I don't think it is any worse than waxing, and the results definitely last longer. They are also able to be more precise as it can target individual hairs. The stylist I usually see is great. She makes sure to discuss what you want before she starts, talking about shape and colour options. She also will recommend the right products to use if you need them (they sell a small range in house) and she is very efficient. I actually look forward to my treatments despite the pain as I always come out feeling and looking great!

Today I went to wander Rundle mall to fund a place that does henna tattoos and eyebrow threading. I…read morewent down and saw this business after searching for what felt like forever. The store was quite empty and I now can see why. When I came in, there was no welcome. I was about to get my tattoo done and then another customer came in, and she got immediately served! I waited another 15 mins. The customers eyebrows did look very nice so I was expecting very high of them. I chose my design, and then we negotiated a price: $35 for this tiny design! She told me she would make the design big to make it worth my money but she didn't. It was tiny! And worst of all, the henna looked like a toddler for hold of a crayon and drawn all over my leg! It looked horrible, I hate it! And because it lasts for 3 weeks, I have to keep explaining to everyone about my henna. People keep saying to me " what happened to your leg, it looks really bad!" And I tell them my story. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. Go to iBrow studio in the David jones centre for better value. Unless you want to waste your money on a pile of **** on your body, go elsewhere for a henna.
