Horrible, horrible experience. I was referred here as the cure for surgical malpractice that had occurred from Dr. James "Jamie" Adair of MyMichigan in SSM, and took the day off and spent hours to get there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Scheduling was a nightmare as I was told I'd have to wait months to be seen despite being in horrible pain since July.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon arriving, things were okay, got checked in and pulled back quickly enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The provider refused to do anything for me, just advised to keep doing what we had been. He was more focused on cosmetic repair than actually closing my wounds. He advised me to wait another month, after 7 months of non healing had already taken place. I opted to reschedule for several months later because I couldn't afford to take off and make the trip again for a bit, and my providers back home were livid at the lack of care shown to me during my appointment. I called a month later to ask what the plan was for my follow up, as nothing had changed, it just wasted my time sitting here in pain for more time than necessary. The office manager told me that it was "medically unnecessary and unethical" for them to get involved and nothing would be done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I expressed concerns over not understanding how leaving a patient, who was referred to them, in pain was more ethical than treating a patient with a dermatology related issue, but the manager failed to meet any question with logic, reason, or empathy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The office was clean, but every part of the experience was an inefficient nightmare that just further wasted time and resources that I didn't have to begin with. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went in with hope that this office would be the people to finally help me get my life back, but instead, they wasted my time, money, and made me cry multiple times due to rude behaviors and unwillingness to actually help patients in need.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even cancelled my future appointment without my consent, love having things adjusted for me as a patient when I didn't ask for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After my experience, this business seems to be nothing more than a glorified Botox center that isn't capable of helping the patients that come to them in dire need. If you feel ugly or old, maybe they're the people for you. If you need legitimate healthcare, please save yourself time and frustration and get a referral literally anywhere else. read more

This place is a awful, I am a Veteran and was sent here by the VA with authorization to remove skin tags. After waiting in the waiting room for 40 minutes I get brought back to a room where I am told I will have to pay out of pocket because its cosmetic. I said no the VA sent you a referal that states I need skin tags removed because they are painful. They said they don't remove skin tags for medical issues. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Why is it no one said that to the VA or I when they were talking to us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't expect a hand out but not taking money from the VA for a medical procedure and trying to force to pay it out of pocket when I served my country and have health insurance willing to cover the procedure is gross! From initial appointment to biopsy till now my partner has been in pain for weeks and they have zero sense of urgency. If we're not living in a small town would never come here. Very efficient whether there for a check up or an operation. I had surgery four days ago and it was quickly followed up with the plastic surgeon that same day. Obviously it's too early to describe the outcome. I wish the people especially the nurses were friendlier and learned to smile a bit. But perhaps that's the way it needs to be. read more

I was treated poorly, doctors have an edge, worst medical experience. I am ready to drive 4 hours to get proper treatment. I was targeted because I shared my faith and loyalty to a doctor they let go. Very unprofessional. Today I was speaking to a very nice receptionist when doctor took over the call. Poor girl. Several years ago I made a 2 hour drive here for an exam of a tiny bump on the back of my neck. There was a tech and a doc in the exam room. As the neck of my shirt was turned back for easier access, one of them pulled out the tag to see the brand name. "Lululemon... of course", she said in a voice dripping with sarcasm. Not that it was anybody's business but it was a gift from a family member. The doc loudly proclaimed me a "lifetime picker". I was treated by individuals who were rude and unprofessional; I never went back. read more

I have seen Dr Mary Stoll twice now. Both experiences were very good. She was very personable, compassionate and kind. Listened to my concerns and was very helpful. I was nervous about doing an all over body check but she and her assistant put me at ease immediately. Very friendly staff. I only had to wait in reception for a few minutes both time. Very pleased with my visits. read more

Feels like you're cattle being herded through to maximize profits. It is very disappointing that a great medical practice has declined so dramatically in recent years. The PAs and nurses do try their best to help but seem to be stifled by the corporate regulations. The front desk staff is unprofessional, sometimes rude, unresponsive and not helpful. If you need actual medical attention, you may want to keep looking. read more

They removed a bump in my eyebrow which came right back. Then I had laser on my face to remove red marks & it was the most painful thing. She was all over my face for an hour & didn't get rid of any red spots, particularly the 3 small areas I wanted done. She left the laser on each spot for a long time & seems to have created scars. There was not one spot that was removed. I had to pay $300 in cash & her name was Kim I believe. read more

called to get Corporates number was put on hold then was told I had to talk to the manager all fine and good but she is the reason I wanted the number for Corporate. She belittles the employees laughs at and taunts them and talks about them behind their backs. I even took my daughter in for an appointment and she was not friendly at all to either of us. This behavior is very unacceptable very unprofessional and needs to be dealt with.. But they wont give you a number to file a complaint... read more

Had an appointment for scar revision. Which is listed on the website as something they do here. The doctor met with us for about 5 minutes. He said it wasn't his specialty and sent us on our way. They charged us $90 for nothing, feels like theft. read more

I have only nice things to say about Dermatology Associates! Mary Stoll saw my husband regarding a rash he had had for quite a while. He had no luck with previous doctors regarding the rash. She immediately knew what it was, but had a biopsy done to confirm. The biopsy was done on site and results were almost immediate. She gave him a medication and the rash was completely gone in two weeks! read more

Factory style medicine. Churn as many patients in and out a day as possible. One of the only options around. Go in with low expectations and take a book. You will be waiting. The staff seems a bit beaten down and worn out. Not their fault but the corporate owner gets away with it because there isn't enough competition in the area. If you only live here part time, try to wait to have your dermatology work finished elsewhere. read more

Was scheduled to see a Dr. Williams. She didn't even look at the rash on my face but just glanced at it, said she would write an RX and stepped out of the room. Then I come to find out she WAS NOT a LICENSED physician, but rather a student from MSU. I was not hold this when I called to make an appointment, I was told my appt was with Dr. Williams. The RX she called in was $199 so of course I couldn't get it. Then my insurance was billed under a Dr. Cotter. When I called my insurance to explain I didn't recognize this name, my insurance investigated and found out the office used this Dr. Cotter's name because he was under my in-network coverage. The office can't bill insurance when they have you see a medical student. read more

They have done the best for my 16 year old son! Came in with severe acne. With treatment and monthly visits, 6 months later he is almost all healed and no new breakouts. The best staff in Northern Michigan! They accept my insurance and inform me of any fees above my copays before administering. The best part is the dr. talks with my son and treats him as the patient and has empathy. It is nice to see the dr. taking the interest in him and not just talking to me. thankful read more

This place is a nightmare! Karen Nigg (NP) treated me for almost a year for a cyst on my nose. Reluctantly she removed it (clearly she was not happy with me constantly asking her to remove it). It came back as cancer! She never apologied. A receptionist was let go for Karen's mistake (made no sense to me either). Karen also does my laser treatment for the removal of unwanted hair. When I asked Dermatology Association of N. Michigan if I could have someone else could do this treatment in lieu of what had happened with the cancer, they told me "no." Because of the large investment earlier in the treatment I had to continue with Karen. Twice their billing office have billed me for services in error: once billing me for a procedure that never took place. The second error was billing me for a procedure that I paid at time of service. Oh, and get this, they decided to jack up the price of the procedure I was having without telling me beforehand and allowing me the choice if I wanted to continue the care with the increase price. I was handing them my Visa card assuming that it was the same price the last two visit only to find out on my statement they had increase the cost of my visit by an additional $25! Not a place to go. read more

Highway Robbery! Be SURE to find out what the charges will be - BEFORE you agree to any treatment. I brought my son in for Molluscum, a common childhood wart issue that goes away on its own over time. They charged me $183 just to see him for a brief visit and to confirm what the pediatrician had already told us, PLUS another $193 to take a cue-tip and dab some beetlejuice on 6 of his spots. So, almost $400 for this visit - for a condition that goes away on its own. If they would have explained to me what they were going to charge me for the Beetlejuice - and if I would have thought to ask - I would never have agreed to it. Outrageous. read more
