The Dentist was cordial and perform a root canal . I was very pleased. However, the next day I called the office without realizing I had misplace a form stating that I might feel pain the next day and it had instructions. So with that in mind, I called the office and ask if they can relate a message . I didn't realize I had a temporary filling. I was totally scolded on the phone not knowing why and the response was that she will not call him on vacation. Had no idea what she was talking about . Totally unaware of the doctor's whereabouts . Just concerned how to move forward and was treated unkindly. So that ends several other root canals that I was going to schedule for . read more

WARNING: This office had poor hygiene practices, dismissive, and I'd read this review carefully before deciding whether to see this physician or go to this office. I had a deeply disappointing experience with Dr. Zohn, and I feel compelled to share it. I don't care how experienced he is or that he's about 80; although I wish I had known that before my visit, as frankly, at his age, if he can't treat patients with the care they deserve, maybe it's time to retire!! I'm a cancer patient and came in for a follow-up after a procedure. After waiting about 30 minutes, I politely asked if the staff could wash their hands before examining me. Instead of addressing my concern, Dr. Zohn walked out and sent a staff member to place cotton in my mouth. After she finished, she said I was done and could leave. I was stunned. And not in a good way. I asked if Dr. Zohn could come back an exam my tooth? After all, that is why I went to the trouble of going to his office for my visit, and I still had concerns. The staff, whose name I didn't get, incredulously goes next-door and in ear-shot, says that I "insist" on him seeing me. First of all, I never use those words! Second of all to say I "insist on a doctor seeing me" is kind of a farce, given that's the whole point of my appt! Geesh. It gets worse. He makes me wait about another hour, and I didn't leave his office for about an hour and a half +. Meanwhile, a mother in the wait area explains how he convinced her daughter to undergo a second procedure while I was left waiting. His prioritization of other patients over my needs felt EXTREMELY dismissive. First, when he finally did come back he touched my tooth for a millisecond, and if he spent 20 seconds with me, up to a full minute, there's no reason he couldn't do so prior to his surgeries. FYI, I did have a 2 PM appointment. So why should I have to wait for over an hour to an hour and a half?! Finally, Dr. Zohn came out and asked what he could do for me, despite this being my follow-up appointment. I wanted him to assess how my mouth was healing, but he seemed oblivious, suggesting I should come back in a month for a follow-up, but this WAS my one month follow-up!! I don't believe he even changed his gloves from the previous procedure before briefly touching my tooth and declaring it fine. I know this because he came out of the operating room with the gloves on, had no inclination or thought that he was going to bring me back to another exam room, until I asked him to do so, and even suggested I come back in another month. So he reluctantly went back with me to the exam room, & I strongly believe he still had the same gloves on, and this after I already explained how I had cancer and hoped he would take safeguards like washing hands before touching me!!! Being dismissive is bad enough. Making me wait an hour and a half is another thing. But if you don't change your gloves and/or wash hands between patients, ANY patient, but especially one with an immuno-compromised system, this is a physician who should no longer be practicing medicine, regardless of lifetime skill!!! That is just negligence. I don't know the legal definition but generally speaking, it is negligent behavior. I don't know the skill of any of his colleague physicians, but this reflects badly on the whole office. I even suggested to the office manager that if Dr. Zohn not comfortable with follow-ups, maybe he should ask one of his colleagues to do that on his behalf. She said that the physicians don't do that. OK. Well this doctor didn't do his due diligence; hence posting this review warning others. Again, he may be skilled. I will acknowledge that my pain level has decreased significantly since the procedure but in itself, that is insufficient. I needed this person to treat me like a human, and actually check on my mouth in a timely and good & hygienic manner. It's great that he was using Hebrew/Yiddish terms with who I believe to be his Orthodox patient. I too am Jewish, so I almost felt like I should say that to him because they were getting absolute preferred treatment. (I am not Orthodox, however). But all patients should be treated the same regardless of their religious proclivities. As a patient who has kept every appointment, paid in full, and even brought him a thank-you gift, I expected better treatment. The lack of awareness regarding hygiene protocols in this day and age is EXTREMELY alarming, especially with viruses circulating. Overall, the care I received was unacceptable. The way a physician treats their patients matters, and dismissiveness can overshadow even the best skills. I hope my experience can save someone else from a similar fate. I am a very nervous patient whenever it comes to dental work, especially anxious upon learning I needed to get a root canal. My regular dentist referred me to Dr.Pellicano at Advanced Endodontics and after leaving today I do not have enough positive words to say about my experience. Him and his staff were so kind and patient, taking time to explain the procedure and easing my nerves. The actual procedure was so much quicker than expected and I barely felt a thing. My experience here has definitely given me a more positive outlook when it comes to needing uncomfortable dental procedures. Would highly reccomend this doctor and practice for anyone requiring a similar procedure! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr Apolito would give more stars if I could! I have been to Dr Apolito twice this past year and have had 2 Root Canals on molars. This doctor was extremely professional, so gentle, calming, caring and reassuring. His staff was knowledgable and helped me to deal with my fear and anxiety prior to the procedure. I felt ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN during both root canals. I took 2 Tylenol when I got home (just in case) and that was all! I spent so many months in pain, delayed having the root canal, all due to the awful pain I suffered during and after a root canal 15 years ago by a different endodontist. I recently broke a tooth at the gum line in the front. My Dentist was unable to fix it. I just had the most amazing root canal experience. Yes, you read that correctly. I've been experiencing bad pain in my tooth for longer than I can remember and knew it was inevitable that I'd need a canal. I was referred to this practice and not only did they fit me in last minute, the staff was incredibly warm and friendly. They offered me the option to do the canal right on the spot, and I was out of there in 45 minutes flat. I was so anxious about how this experience as a whole would go and I can't say it enough- it was actually enjoyable. The cherry on top was the discount they offered me on the service performed, which I'm not even sure I should be saying here... but I'm truly blown away. I have had a significant amount of dental work and this is by far the best experience I have had. Dr. Pellicano was so kind and understanding.
