Staff was fine. Book selection is decent. Biggest problem I saw is with homeless contingent in there. Had to change locations several times because of those assholes. I was guided by a sweet lady at the front desk. Then as I suggested using my card on my own to checkout, it malfunctioned. I turned and she was occupied. So i reached out to another lady. She signaled she was impaired from hearing. I signaled back and wrote on a pad, 'i needed guidance with checking out, on the fancy machine." She gave me a smile and guided me to a different machine. She guided me through the process. Im glad she put in the effort. she communicated better than most people. Clean environment, and beautiful books. The place smells great and is calm. Less selection available now. The old location had more music discs. There once was a huge expansive selection of classical music that took up two rows. Now it's a single drawer space. Many things in the culture are being lost and deleted, and people just won't have access to that knowledge. read more

Super beautiful, big, clean library. Architecture is really pretty, it's awesome! Two floors, really clean, friendly employees. The second floor has a deck with outdoor seating which is awesome! Lots of places to sit with outlets, wifi is a bit annoying because you need a library card but I got one in no time. Plenty of parking, pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon (I think there might be an event going on, not sure). read more

This library is a gem of Wichita. They did such a good job with the location and designing the building to compliment the surrounding area. The natural lighting cannot be beat; walls of windows and an open air patio make for ideal focusing conditions, whether for studying or getting lost in a book. They also have rooms for hiding out in if the open atmosphere is too distracting, and a great variety of seating options to cater to people's preferences. I also love that there is a coffee shop inside, it's the best addition you can make to a library. The staff are all helpful and friendly and it really creates a space that's welcoming to all, not just the book nerds. read more

What a great addition/change for Wichita. The new library is FANTASTIC! In addition, it brings people together of all ages from kids, young adult, adults, etc. I come here when I have some spare time with my wife for my daughter. What I have noticed is the parking lot is just not large enough for their events, which is a great issue to have. Anytime they have a big event, show up early, the place gets packed!!! But people are kind enough to make space and park around. There are two entrances on each side of the building. When you walk in the place is large, kids section on the main floor, and well I have yet to see the rest of the place so I don't know what is above. What I do know is my daughter loves this place. It is clean and has great things for kids to enjoy. The kids section is so large and caters to a wide age range. Because I work I haven't had the time to enjoy the weekday events for kids / stay at home / work from home parents. But I have heard the place gets SO PACKED on the weekdays for story time/play along time. They are going to start doing a story / sing along play time for kids every 3rd Saturday of each month, starting in January. I truly look forward to this because my daughter is old enough to enjoy this and learn from it. Need something education for you and your family, go to the downtown library. It also is a great quiet place to study, they have plenty of hidden littler spots on the main floor if you just need a quiet place to read/study. If I didn't have a daughter keeping me busy I would also take advantage of the activities they offer for adults as well. Pay attention to the signs posted around the library because they also do big $5 book bag sales every quarter which is great if your looking for a cheap way to expand your home library for your kiddos or yourself. SO MANY BOOKS! I have seen people walk out with multiple bags full of books. Glad we finally have such a great library to enjoy. read more

What a beautiful building to be shared with all of Wichita. We are using the conference rooms for meetings since it is centrally located to all of us. The staff have been friendly and helpful. Way to go Wichita! read more
