I have written very few reviews in my years here, but any dental office that I've willingly returned to deserves a shout out. I have dental phobia and a history of only going to the dentist when I'm having an emergency. They treat the emergency, suggest other necessary work, and then I disappear because it's all pretty traumatic. Rinse and repeat. Enter Advanced Oakdale and Dr. Elkhoury. They're fantastic here. They're kind and patient and understanding of my anxiety. I've returned for routine work as well as more invasive treatment. Yeah, it's still dental work, but if I have to have it, I'm coming here. Everyone there was very nice to me, aside from my hygienist Tabitha who did not help me remove the suction cup they give to spit in from my face. I spat into the funnel and ended up with it sucking my lips and chin inside, to which I tried removing it, pulling the cord, and shouting to her for help, and pointing to the cup while trying to pull it off. She was not receptive or helpful, only asking me to "just take my face out". I finally ripped it off of my face after a couple more seconds, detaching the hose in the process. She simply turned off the suction when I handed it back to her stunned. When I shouted, could she have not turned off the suction for me, and asked if I was okay? It was reddened for the rest of the cleaning, and progressed to a full blown bruise about 15 minutes aft. I'd asked her, "has that never happened before?" Since she was just silent and indifferent as I held my chin and recovered from what in the world had just happened. She says it 'just happens sometimes' and that, "I didn't need to do all that, just to spit in the funnel". I will not be returning. This was my very first appointment there for a cleaning. I'm grateful I was able to rip it off, and only be left with some rough bruising. I don't think she had malicious intent, but my situation was most definitely mishandled. I just hope that the office learns from this, and either turns down the force of their suction on this equipment, or stops the use of that equipment altogether. read more

Place is trash. They bring you in for appointments that you dont need, just to tell you stuff you already know about your teeth just so they can bill you. They send you bills in the mail after you settle up with them and they tell you that you dont owe them any money. Place is sketchy. Almost like they have money issues or something. I don't think anyone likes going to the dentist but Advanced Oakdale Dentist made it a wonderful experience. I had several root canals and experienced no pain. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Very clean workspace and state of the art equipment. Not to mention they have TVs in the ceiling and a wealth of options to watch. From the moment I walked in I felt at ease. It had the feeling of going to a friends house more than anything because everybody was open and able to talk you through everything to the point where you don't feel as if you're at an appointment. Hennessy was awesome through prep and even after to the appointment set up for the next time I have to go back. First off, if I could give a negative 10 I would. In 2020, I had an infected back tooth, covid 19 shut down all Dentist facilities. They were not concerned about it Sept 2020, had an appointment to get it extracted. That day was the 1st day of my hell. Dr Dang extracted the tooth, then he did a bone graph and closed me up. I asked him why are you doing that ? Dont you want the infection to drain? He said dont worry the script will take care of it.. Well long story short, the infection got worse, had sinus surgery lost my taste and smell and cant breath. Now I cant find a specialists to fix the mess, and lost bone graph along with natural bone since then. I am stuck with out anyone willing to correct this . Very disappointed and Pissed off read more

They didn't submit claims to my insurance for 2 months and the only reason they did submit the claims was because I called and complained that they hadn't yet! They quoted me for dental work at a lower price then tried to charge me more the day of service. This place is bad news! Save yourself the trouble and find a different dentist! read more

They tried for several months to make my husband a set of upper false teeth every set they made fell out.The last time there June 28th they put in set they made fell out. The Dentist finally gave up and gave him his money back .. Don't string people around for months and give up just tell them from the start that you can't make dentures instead of fooling around my time is valuable. Then when I said we would see him in 6 months he said I'd rather not. I wouldn't t reccomend him to do anything unless you have all the time in the world.Now they have sent a letter that they will not treat my family.I guess when you can't do something you can't face patients who had to go elsewhere I guess he lost face. read more

This is a very professional dental office with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Upon my first visit the doctor did a very thorough check-up and even took pictures to show me the work needed and explained the procedures and specific problems I am facing. I called the office with a toothache, the receptionist was very helpful looked up my insurance and got me in right away. Very friendly environment, the assistant and the dentist focused on my main concern. It was my first time in the office and I felt very comfortable.The dentist took his time to go step by step on my treatment needed, explained and answered all of my questions. I can't express enough how much I love this place. I was always afraid of going to the dentist so I didn't go for seven very long years. I knew I had to go and since this office offered cosmetic dentistry I really wanted to give them a try. I've had a bonding on my front tooth that to say I hated would be an understatement. I had it for over twenty years and was never happy when I would go and have it "fixed". It looked awful and I had a giant gap in between my two front teeth. I went in and spoke with Dr. Do and Dr. Nguyen about what my options were and they decided the best choice would be veneers. I was very anxious about having it done but I have never felt more comfortable in a dentist office in my life. They were so kind and understanding and took the time to explain everything to me. I had two veneers put in last October and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself! It's almost one year later now and it has definitely changed my life.
