UNETHICAL PRACTICE!!!! LIARS!!! BEWARE OF CHARGES!!! DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!!!…read more Back in February I was having dental issues (cracked tooth that needed to be pulled ) all of my "in network" dentists were booked that day so I got referred to Oral Surgery South in Quincy. I called before I went because they were "out of network" and I explained my situation. I also explained that I didn't want to pay over $1000 to get a tooth pulled to please quote me a price, because if it was super expensive I would just wait a day and go to an "in network" dentist. The woman who I was speaking with assured me that getting a tooth pulled was about $200 for in network patients and a little over $400 for out of network patients. I once again went over how I didn't want to pay $1000 to have my tooth pulled but if it was only going to be $400 I would come in and do it. So we booked an appointment. I have no complaints about the dental work, The equipment itself is a little outdated (besides the fancy xray machine they charge an extra $75 without asking you for) but the work was mostly painless and efficient. The problem is when I went to pay my bill and leave, instead of it being a little over $400, the new total was $1,181.90 I admit I made a mistake by swiping my card when I got to the desk without looking at anything, my head was foggy and I just had a tooth pulled. When she told me the price I told her that's not what she told me and what we agreed to on the phone, she told me there was an additional $800 charge. Nobody told me about additional charges, nobody asked me about additional charges , nobody explained anything about additional charges to me , nobody said the words "EIGHT HUNDERED DOLLARS" at any time, until after i got the bill. I felt lied to and taken advantage of. My card was already swiped so even though I told her I disagreed with the charges and I didn't want to pay the extra $800, I would still pay the $400 and that I wasn't signing anything to authorize that additional $800. They still charged me $1,181.90 and refused to give me an itemized receipt, the receipt they gave me has the total on it and nothing else. I tried to dispute the $800 portion of the bill to my credit card company and they said because I swiped there is nothing they can do and I have to contact the merchant. The merchant will not refund the $800. I agree that I still owe the $400 to get the tooth pulled, but I don't want them to UNETHICALLY up- charge anyone else like they did to me. I was desperate and they knew it, then they used bait and switch on me with unethical tactics. I was a sale and a dollar sign and that woman at the desk was rude and she most likely made commission on putting me in that fancy x ray machine they charge you extra for and the extra $800 they tacked on at the end. Going to the dentist is hard enough, nobody should have to deal with this after the fact. So AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS !!! BEWARE OF UNETHICAL PRACTICE AND BAD CHARGES!!!!

I originally came here for an Invisalign consultation and ended up booking my cleanings and fillings here. They made all my appointments back to back the same day so I can fit Invisalign and getting back on track with my oral health fit into my work schedule! I had Invisalign IPR, a cavity filling, and a cleaning all in one day and left with ZERO pain. The numbing went away within 2 hours and I was good to go at work! I never imagined I'd say this but I genuinely can't wait to go back and finish getting my oral health on track. Thank you Dr. Cheng for helping me get my confidence back with my smile & guiding me through my oral health goals with zero pressure. Love it here!

Unfortunately, after a good first scheduling experience, nothing else has been good. Called at least 3 times after the appointment to check on status and follow up, no returned calls. No one called to give us an update or even try to reschedule. Very disappointed in the lack of service and probably the last time we'll deal with this place. We should have needed the reviews.

DO NOT COME HERE!! Especially if you need extensive work…read moredone on your teeth. They pulled five teeth from my mouth two of those teeth were the wrong teeth, and I still haven't regained feeling in my bottom lip since having a simple extraction done and it was about a month ago. My next appointments keep getting pushed out and pushed out and in the meantime, I'm walking around with no teeth and in pain The general "Dentist" who does primarily all the distractions seems to be the issue here! I read awful reviews and I was confused due to the totally different experience I had. Then I had 5 teeth removed. That's when I experienced what it was these awful reviews were talking about. Originally I had a 5 star rating for this office. The girls at the front are extremely nice and understanding. I made an emergency appointment on Sunday. I had a broken tooth that was causing me a lot of pain. I met with Dr. Abe and he was great! I have other work that needs to be done, but it's hard finding a dentist to trust. He said all the right things and I left very hopeful. I come in on Wednesday and it was like a bait and switch. I do not know the name of the doctor who did the extractions. I had five teeth pulled not one being the tooth I made the appointment for! He had an intern with him he was talking about me like I was not there. I'm already self conscious and he's making noises and comments about my teeth. He then let her know I was a MassHealth patient and he'll explain later but mass health patients are often different than patients with private coverage. He went on to say people like me with MassHealth will come in and once the tooth is removed we don't come back and keep up with follow ups and additional work. I was so embarrassed. Once he removed the 5 teeth I was NOT given any kind of instructions to Care for the stitches and opened wounds in my mouth. Usually I'm told not to use a straw no smoking given some extra gauze. NOTHING. He sprayed bloody water all over me didn't acknowledge it. He cleaned himself off and it was the intern who asked me if I would like a napkin. It wasn't a little spray when I left an hour later my hair was still wet! I tried to schedule a follow up but the doctor left no notes about what my next appointment will be. The receptionist is so sweet, she offered me a napkin to clean myself off and directed me to the restroom. I didn't realize it but there was blood still all over my face. Maybe MassHealth patients would come back to follow up if you weren't a complete jerk! The doctor was young and may be the nicest kid on earth but he needs to practice bedside manner. I had every intention on having all work that needed to be done which is 100% covered by my MassHealth. Not sure now. If I could be treated like a human being regardless of my insurance. Not for nothing at least with MassHealth they know they will get their $$ as opposed to relying on me for payment or copays.
