For three years I have met with Dr. Kevin Hayes monthly. He is attentive and makes inquiries about how I am doing. My medications are renewed regularly, although there was a communication problem one or twice that was quickly resolved. Each session Dr. Hayes reviews my medications and makes certain I am adjusting. If I have other medical procedures or problems that my primary physician handles, Dr. Hayes expects a follow up within two weeks of that appointment to be sure if any new medications have any interference issues with my current medications. They refer me for TMS instead, but when I call they tell me I'm not a candidate either despite their CURRENT staff recommending me for it. They wouldn't disclose why. My actual provider is fine, but the company is weird and scammy. It's like pulling teeth to get a proper itemized billing statement from them. I received a very incomplete billing notice, after three tries, and I still can't tell from their notice what's been submitted to my secondary insurance and what hasn't. Communication is done via text rather than more professional means. They claim I still owe hundreds of dollars, even though I know my two insurers cover me 100%, and they call at least eight times a day with spoofed phone numbers hiding their real number to try to trick me into answering. I had to subscribe to Cloaked to block their constant harassment, and it still hasn't stopped (it's been a couple months). If I could rate them less than one star, I would. I hope the Joint Commission investigates them soon. read more

Yet after having a useless appt with Rachel, I had an appt with Lisa. Pharmacy never receives refills. My appt was 3/31. It's now 4/6; the day I'm allowed to pick medication up. I had to have a third appt with idiot Hayes who is so ancient he was more worried about my swearing on the phone than getting my meds called in which he refused to do. The medical assistants are useless, the supervisors are useless. The doctors aren't great either. The first encounter I had with them trying to make an appointment was extremely unprofessional and the front desk people were rude, and very pushy. That was enough to give me a first impression of how they are. Going forward they have continued to harass me by calling me, texting me multiple times a month, and now sending emails asking if I would like to make an appointment with them. I have responded NO, multiple times, I have called and asked them to stop calling to be told they would take me off the list. Im still receiving calls!! Ive blocked the number, reported emails from them, etc, and they find other ways. Trust me, save yourself from these fools. They are harassing me at this point. I was having a pretty good experience until recently. Doctor gave no warning she was going on vacation for 3 weeks. The doctors that subbed in for her decided I needed less medication after talking to me one time over the phone. So for the last 3 weeks I've only gotten half my doses and since I've had a new doctor nearly every time I go there's no consistency in my care. If things go smoothly the experience is fine -- but if you have to deviate (or they randomly change your appointments around) it's a real pain in the rear. The people that run their phone bank are absolute morons. Lastly, they don't seem to understand how things work for disabled people that have to use the system for rides Medi-cal forces us to use. I have had to tell them over and over and over that I need at least 5 days warning for any appointment changes. They don't care. This one simple thing has cost me hours upon hours of my life that could have been avoided by them just calling me instead of making the change and not notifying me. read more

I was trying to get screened for ADHD and my psychiatrist didn't sound like she knew anything about that or how to even do it. She repeatedly said things like "Uh.. what is this... how do I do that...". She kept sending me to get blood work done and refused to ask me about my symptoms or experiences. I tried to talk to her about WHY I thought I had ADHD but she just wasn't interested in listening. She only had me complete an online quiz (the results were inconclusive and she never addressed this), then when I asked what the next steps are, she wouldn't give me a straight answer... she just said she needed more labs from me to plan for possible medication. However, she hadn't even screened me for ADHD yet so there was no reason to believe I would need medication! And she kept sending the wrong lab orders so I had to go back multiple times to get the labs done. My doctor (whom I like and trust) also told me that these labs were completely unnecessary. I scheduled a follow-up with the psychiatrist, and she canceled on me last minute (it was a morning appointment and was canceled that same morning) WITHOUT calling or texting at all!! I was waiting for my appointment which never started, so I logged into my patient portal and realized they had canceled my appointment without notifying me and they rescheduled it TWICE to random future dates that I did not agree to. Angela lwuala is my psychiatrist. She's great to me! Listened to everything I had to say & gave proper medications needed. Also approves my refills in a timely manner. My issue is with the staff team. I think it's ridiculous that they charge $50 for documents. They call and text from several different numbers. They've also been saying I have a bill and try to get me to pay for stuff knowing that I have insurance which it in fact does cover everything. I don't have to pay anything out of pocket but constantly have to remind them of that when my insurance is clearly on file. Also, when you do have to pay for stuff, it seems very sketchy. They give you some link to pay and then tell you to let them know when you've completed the payment and then they'll proceed with whatever it is you're paying for. I find that a bit weird. If I could keep my psychiatrist but with a better company, I would. The main reason why I haven't switched providers is because I hate going through the intake process all over again each time you're looking for a new doctor. read more

I like the therapists but the admins who handle collecting co-pays and set up appointments are not easy to work with. Even after you have paid the Co/pay they still hound you for it. The website is a bit clunky and definitely needs some work, but the practitioners are real and were able to prescribe me the medicine I needed. Just make sure to read the documents carefully, the language is well laid out and easy to understand. They tell you exactly how they will charge you and the amount you will be charged. Stay tuned for what was my last straw with them. Today (September 18, 2023) I received a bill for $302.07. I called the billing department to ask what was the charge for. The person on the phone said it was for copay. I have never been informed about a copay and I have been going to this specific location for almost a year. I asked why have I not been told about a copay. The person responded by repeatedly saying sorry. Sorry does not answer my question. I asked to speak with a manager. Manager gets on the phone. Again I ask why was I not informed about the copay. The manager straight up said the billing department had not been doing their job so they are now catching up. My jaw dropped to the ground. Then the manager said it's ok you can make payments. Umm excuse me?! Nahhhhh. So now there is probably 100s of patients out there receiving a bill of 100s of dollars because a whole billing department were not doing their job. That makes me sick to my stomach. APA was found to be negligent in administration by a Superior Court Judge. A small claims award in my favor was determined in 2022. Dr. Soliman and APA have yet to pay it. And then the office had the nerve to try to collect $200 from me for an invoice they never gave me, while owing me more than $6000 per court order. Made an appt to see Claris Bangura. The first appt I was called minutes before my appointment by a gentleman who told me unfortunately she had an emergency and needed to reschedule. Of course things happen oh well. He wanted to reschedule me with a different doctor than I requested. Finally after a back and forth I got another appt with my requested doctor. Now again a day before my appt the same gentleman calls me to tell me my appt was canceled again as she had something come up.
