My son has been going here for a year now when he first started he was 3 non verbal he now 4 years old has learned so much he has around 30 word vocabulary, they're teaching him to color inside the lines so draw straight lines, to write his name, playing with kids his age at the facility. He just gets so happy as soon as we arrive there. The staff is so welcoming and very helpful and very flexible with our schedule. All around a great place to be apart of! read more

Let this review be a cautionary tale for you, the parent who is reading this and probably thinking of enrolling their child in ABA services at SAS. I'll try to make this brief and give only the facts, so that you can decide for yourself if this is the kind of program and the type of business that you want your child to be part of. On 1/25/23, at approximately 6:00 pm, my wife was on her way to pick up our daughter from SAS. She called and informed them that she was running a little late, due to a traffic accident and would be there as soon as she could. SAS immediately contacted me to ask if I could pick up our daughter instead, as they were closing and could not wait any longer. I told them that I could not, as I was working and reminded them my wife had called and was already on her way. I was met initially with silence, then reception informed me sternly that we would need a parent training session with the director, Dr. Katherine Buchanan before we could even bring our daughter back in for her therapy. My wife picked up our daughter at SAS at 6:15 pm. The following morning, I called SAS to find out why we needed a parent training session due to ONE late pickup. This was the only instance of a late pickup we ever had. Reception had only one response: 'Dr. Kat (Katherine Buchanan) needs to have a parent training session with you.' 'Why?' I asked, I continued to get the same response. I even asked if I could simply speak to Dr. Kat over the phone to try and smooth things out and decipher why this drastic measure was imposed upon us. No luck. Reception informed us that our daughter's services would be paused for 2 weeks, due to this one minor instance of picking our daughter up 15 minutes late. We tried several times to speak to Dr. Kat in person over the phone, but access was blocked by reception every time we called. We then started communicating with Dr. Kat via email. We mentioned to her that without any phone communication from her, we lose trust. We've had phone conferences with her before and we were confused as to why we can't do this again. We asked if there was another reason beyond picking up our daughter 15 minutes late that we have to have a parent meeting. Nothing more was said other than we needed to have a parent training session. Sounds ridiculous, right? It gets better. Previous to this, we inquired via email about a parent training portal that we could have access to, in order to stay on track with our daughter's progress. We never got a response to that. We also asked for a policy and procedures list and that was also met with silence. We could have benefited with a treatment plan, being shared to manage everyone's expectations. The education system uses an IEP, Alta Regional, uses an IPP. Goals are stated and steps are listed out as to how the goals will be achieved. The family signs this document and it is distributed so that all parties are on the same page. We received none of this from SAS. Due to the complete lack of communication, lack of trust and unprofessionalism, we decided to pull our daughter out of the ABA program at SAS, after only attending there for 7 WEEKS. To sum it all up: We felt like we were being aggressively penalized for something that happened one single time, without any warning. A late pickup by 15 minutes. Reception blocks access to the director, thus resulting in the breakdown of communication. Things like a treatment plan, parent training portal, policy and procedures were NEVER given to us. Even after asking for them several times. The therapists actually here are super sweet, but management is deplorable. This was our experience. read more

This review is long overdo. Some of the most UNPROFESSIONAL people I have regrettably spoken to. In short, I was made to believe for nearly 3 months that my child would be getting services from this place just to learn from this would not be the case. The young woman who works front desk informed my husband and me that they accept our insurance and to not worry. This of course was after their doctor initially came to assess him a month or so prior. We were thrilled as we've gotten the run around from one other place prior and wanted to move forward in getting our child the much needed services he needed. Anyone who has a child with special needs knows how imperative it is to start early and to not delay. We ended up turning down another program because we believed we were a shoe in. My mistake... The front desk girl told me after 2 weeks of not hearing back that one of our insurance they didn't accept and the other recently stopped taking contracts but may in the next couple of months or so. After much back and forth and disappointment in being told we would not get services, the front desk girl finally took initiative and offered to work with their doctor who conducts assessments to see if she could assess him and get things moving along. I thought this was a great idea! We took time off work, got him assessed, and was told by front desk girl we would hear back by next week. When next week came and went, I followed up that following week and was told she still needed time to write her report. When 6 weeks went by, I called, pretty upset at this point. I was told to come that weekend to pick up the report. When I called that weekend to confirm the time to pick up the report, I was told by another front desk staff that the report was not ready. When I had some words with the front desk staff of their unprofessionalism as well as their inexcusable delay in getting my son the services that he needs, and my demand to speak to the doctor in charge, I was met with resistance. When I hung up on the front desk staff, I received a call from the doctor in charge, Dr. Kathryne Buchanan, who had the audacity to blame me for hanging up on her staff and for getting upset. She stated that my insurance was the issue and that was why things were delayed. Little did she know that i knew she got the clear from my insurance for her to write the report. When I explained this to her, as well as the fact that her front desk girl told me it would only take a week to complete the report, she proceeded to back track and apologize in the breakdown of communication. All of a sudden she turned the report around in 3 days, smh. My thing is this, if a potential client is upset, understand why that is instead of assuming the client is in the wrong. I wasted 3 months trying to work with a company that had no plans in working with me. If my insurance was that much of a barrier, let me know so I can move on. Don't keep me in the dark, not complete your assessment of my child, then blame me for getting upset. Very unprofessional and deceitful practices happening here. Dr Kat and her team were very frustrating and inconsiderate to work with. They seemed to always be stalling- not returning emails or texts, passing the buck on phone calls. They agreed to a schedule of ABA therapy for my son then a month later said they were no longer available and we should find someone else. They cost my 3 year old a precious month of therapy because they they were too disorganized or dishonest to stick to their word. All-around shady vibe dealing with them probably best in the long run that we search elsewhere. read more
