This seems to be the new business model. I'm disappointed that chiropractors have followed the same pattern as medical doctors. I always considered them the alternative. Now it seems most of them are in it to enrich themselves and simply use their patients to enhance their own lifestyle with no commitment to being healers. I did find that Emily at Payne Chiropractic was the healer I was looking for. She asked and answered lots of questions and provided me printed information about stretches and exercises to take care of myself. She also recommended a book about a topic I was interested after sharing my interest in medicinal herbs and self-healing. She wasn't selling anything other the service. She also took what medicare paid, with no additional payment, therefore there was not out of pocket expense. After only one visit, I've been managing my own condition and haven't needed to return. If you're tired of being milked for cash and strung along, as I am, take heart, there are still a few out there.

We had the best adjustments we've had since living in Jackson and working with Wilk's regularly. Visiting him was worth the trip back alone! We also had him adjust our 12 week old child who had never been adjusted before. He was gentle and thoughtful with us as we discussed her birth and tendencies as an infant. Wilks explained the reasons behind why an infant would be adjusted and the benefits for the child. My Husband held her with her head facing his shoulder as Wilks felt her spine and identified two spots that could be adjusted. While my Husband continued to hold our child, Wilks showed me the instrument he'd use to adjust her and allowed me to feel the pressure he'd use on her during the adjustment. Our daughter was calm in her Dad's arms while Wilks quickly and gently adjusted her. I'm not convinced she was aware anything was happening to her other than being held. Prior to having a child I never imagined I'd be someone who would bring their infant in to get adjusted, I thought it was a silly and an activity that was a waste of money. But after having a child, talking about the process and benefits with Wilks and knowing him to be both a professional and man of high moral character and thoughtfulness I absolutely do not feel that way today.
