I have been working with James for over 10 years. He has helped my body and physical fitness tremendously and continuoulsy over that time. He always is responsive to and respectful of where I need attention and honest about how I am progressing. On multiple occassions James was able to correct problems that multiple PT's could not figure out. Im so grateful I found Rolfing and James (almost 10 years ago.) I would have on and off hip pain and neck pain and tried many different things to help allleviate them without success. I had a total right hip replacement in 2019. The next morning following my surgery at 8am, I fell in the bathroom, broke my toe and hit my head. I had a concussion and was in shock. My freshly operated hip's hardware was still in place but I suffered a lot of soft tissue damage. James Bardot is a miracle worker. After my session with him yesterday, I was finally able to sleep without pain killers for the first time in months. I slept very well last night with no pain, and no meds. I am in shock at how the pain disappeared so quickly. I have scheduled another appointment for next week which I can't wait. I have been going to James Bardot for several years now and have also recommended many of my friends who are athletes to him. For the past 8 months, I have been driving twice a week to Northern California for work. I notice in the last 2 months I am having severe hip pain from sitting at work and sitting for long periods in the car. I am a healthy, and very active person and work out 3-4x a week on my road bike and mountain bike. But I found out my passion for biking is also adding to the pain in my hips by making the hip flexors even tighter. I feel so lucky to have found James and to have received his Rolfing therapy. For years my hips have felt tightly locked making it difficult to walk. I did a breast cancer 5K Walk in the fall. Every step of the walk my hips felt like they were encased in concrete. The pain in my hips has kept me awake at night. I have had many sessions with the chiropractor but the relief from the pain in my hips was very temporary. I knew I needed something that addressed the underlying problem. When James observed my walk he noticed that my right leg did not go right out in front of me as I stepped, but came about from behind, then went out to the side before it came forward. And my ankles didn't have full range of movement which was also affecting my walk. In fact my walk was more of a waddle than a smooth stride. After that initial session I felt a sense of being slightly taller. After the second session my legs and ankles were so much looser and my gait became freer, and bigger. By the fourth session after working to loosen my hips James helped me to relearn how to walk properly with spine straight, shoulders relaxed, and allow my hips to move instead of pumping myself forward with my arms. After nine sessions my hips are loose and my stride is smooth. I went to James hoping he could help to alleviate the pain and stiffness in my hips. He did so much more for me. Where to even begin - I cannot say enough good about James Bardot. He has been a major catalyst in my healing journey and brought to light so many aspects that were holding me back from feeling fully functional in mind, body and spirit. I had some unexpected cathartic releases over issues of the heart from the deep body work, and I must say James was so incredibly present and caring, holding space for me throughout the entire series (10 sessions). Also, I had a car accident in 2016 and suffered a herniated disc in my cervical spine. Every day I was in agony - there was no way I could posture myself at work or position my neck to sleep at night to get relief... but James fixed my neck the first session! Incredible but true! I was referred to James by a friend about a year ago but only recently started seeing him due to an acute and painful Plantar Fasciitis condition in my left foot. I'm in my mid 50's and was feeling pretty defeated by the aches and pains associated with middle age - not just in my foot, but all over my body. The issue with my foot was the final straw. I had to do something! By the third session, the pain in my foot was reduced to "ghost" pain. Not really there but my brain kept searching for it. Now on my 8th session, I have gotten to the point where I am able to include light jogging in my workout! James is the real deal. I once woke up with a frozen back, unable to get up out of bed. I called him up to see if he could work on me. I literally rolled myself onto the floor and crawled to my car. After managing to get to him and getting an hour and a half treatment, I was able to referee a high school soccer game that afternoon, that went into three overtimes! I went from unable to walk to over two hours of running around within the same day. I can't say enough about his ability to work wonders. I'm not saying you'll get the same level of instant relief that I did, it wasn't 100% but I was able to function. He certainly knows what he's doing. I first saw James for a hip issue that developed after my pregnancy which continued to worsen from carrying a baby around on my hip as well as the physical demands from my work as a Chiropractor. I didn't know much about Rolfing then but sensed my body needed something more than massage or physical therapy. I used to walk with my feet pointed out to the sides quite a bit, after doing a series of 10 sessions with James my feet pointed directly ahead when I walked.. Sessions can be super painful than the first session left my thighs black and blue, but it was well worth it. Rolfing does what no amount of stretching can do, it breaks up the fascia allowing the body to realign correctly. I saw James 6 years ago and he was miraculous in helping relieve sciatica pain that was consuming every part of my life. One session he asked which how is the sciatica feeling and I couldn't recall which side of my body the pain was on- unbelievable. Unfortunately I had to move and went to other rolfers/chiropractors/phyiscal therapist for the various ailments I continued to do to my body bc I am a moron and kept on pushing the body and not resting and recovering adequately enough - and really none of them came close to the ability of James. I have since moved back and was able to see James again (after shoulder surgery) and was amazed again at his magical touch. I have been so pleased with James and the results I have received from Rolfing. I started going to him after having intense neck/back pain after my daughter was born. I found out about James from one of my respected senior members from my dojo. I had a injury in my shoulder for more than over 15 years. Tried cortizine, deep tissue massage anti inflammatory med's. Nothing worked. When I met James I just asked him to make it so I could throw a ball with my daughter when she was old enoug. In 8 sessions my shoulder was healed and I can throw a ball overhand again and hard too. I was very impressed. Now I am working with him with another injury. That one is in my leg ankle, knee region. I was seeing James Bardot for multiple body injuries. I have been in 2 severe auto accidents and have horrible whip lash and low back pain. James helped me with my low back but he is not good on the neck work at all. I say this after doing about 12 sessions with him. If you have neck injuries I don't recommend him. Otherwise, he is a pretty alright rolfer. My last complaint would be that he doesn't take my schedule very seriously. I showed up 5-10 minutes early every time and I have to wait 5-15 minutes sometimes for my session to start. I have to get back to work, good grief! read more

You will know after 3-4 treatments if it's working or not. He also managed to free up other musculoskeletal areas of pain I was experiencing.
