I am a military spouse new to the area & I was searching to find a new Eye doctor that takes my insurance. Dr. Jalali is great! I have been to many eye doctors in the past but he is by far one of the best I found. He is very personable and takes his job seriously! My first visit, I got a new prescription for contacts, I bought a year supply and went home and then realized my left contact didn't feel quite as comfortable (due to my stigmatism,) so I called and they were able to get me in the very next day and I got my prescription corrected and new contacts without any issues. He also had a great connection with all his staff members who were also very friendly and informative. Not only did he give me my new contact prescription, he also did my glasses prescription all in one visit, when all my past eye doctors would always make me schedule two separate appointments for contacts and glasses! My whole family have entrust Advanced Vision with our vision care for about 15 to 20 years, ever since Dr. Jalali left, the quality of service has gone down spiral. Recently, my daughter placed a contact lens order (her first time), after I got the receipt, it was $100 more than the contact lens order than we did earlier this year. I asked why the difference, the staff told me they can price match if I found a better deal. I did, but they couldn't match down $100. So I asked to cancel the order, the staff agreed. I placed order with LensCrafter. The next day he confirmed with me that the vendor would stop it and refund expected on card originally charged. Well, couple of days later, the order arrived. No refund seen. I talked to the same staff for a return shipping label, we wanted to make sure it was received. He said a return shipping label is not a problem at all, he would get back to me after response from regional manager to issue one. When I followed up on this, the manager Josh talked to me, he completely changed the facts, he said they never agreed to cancel, they don't issue return shipping label at all. He was rude and arrogant. He refused to let me talk to the staff who handled this. He gave me the last words that no refund if they don't receive it back within 30 days at our own expenses. We have disputed with card company and sent it back with tracking. Legally a cancelled order is not required to be returned. We felt forced to pay out of pocket to return it. This place is no longer recommended. read more

at our first ( and last) visit with Dr Jill back in January, she gave my daughter a pair of trial contact lens that are stronger than prescribed and asked her to wear for couple of days. My daughter felt vision blurry and light headache, called back the next day that was when they disclosed that it wasn't not the right one, they don't have that in stock. Really?? Dr. Jalali and his team are doing everything right; I've never had better experiences with medical providers of any variety. Excellent vision is absolutely critical for my programming job and paragliding hobby. The folks at Advanced Vision are the only people I trust to deliver the best possible performance; it sometimes feels ridiculous just how much clarity they've been able to deliver. Most eye care providers will get you 80-90% of the way to your performance maximum. Advanced Vision is the best vision practice in Columbia, bar none. I had to switch vision insurers (I have VSP), and chose Advanced Vision randomly off of a list of in-network providers. They were able to make me an appointment same-day. A quick note: I went in for an eye exam and contact lens fitting, not glasses, so I can't speak to the quality or selection of their frames and lenses. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Jalali and his office staff at Advanced Vision. I was able to get an appointment quickly, had very little wait time, and received the most comprehensive vision exam of my life. He was even more thorough than my specialty ophthalmologist, which is really saying something. Advanced Vision is unique in a lot of ways: their new patient paperwork is fast, and only asks useful questions that Dr. Jalali uses to identify potential vision problems (e.g. "do you sleep with an overhead fan on?" I answered yes, and he told me that it was a contributor to my dry eyes and uncomfortable contacts). During my contact lens fitting, he explained the actual properties of different brands that makes them unique, instead of just handing me two different trials and sending me on my way. On my way out of the office, the desk staff clearly wrote out cost information for the lens brands I was considering, including my insurance coverage, manufacturer coupons, and special rebates I was eligible for as a VSP customer that I didn't even know about. Unlike other places, their goal was to get me the most for my money. After trying out different lenses over the course of a few weeks, I returned for a follow-up where Dr. Jalali identified why I was having discomfort in one eye, and adjusted to perfection. From the start, everyone at Advanced Vision made it clear that their goal was for me to have the best vision care possible. They delivered, and exceeded my expectations by miles. I'm extremely happy with the contact lenses I chose, both in terms of comfort and value. I'd recommend them to anyone I know. read more

My daughter was diagnosed with a dry eye condition in her left eye when she was seven years old. She was seen by two different eye doctors with Mason Eye Clinic East for four years and once treatment was initiated with patching, eye glasses, and a medicated eye drop, I never felt we were moving in a forward direction with her treatment. We were asked to make an appointment every three to four months, and no changes were ever made in her treatment. If I questioned changing the treatment, the answers were flippant and they would prescribe a different medicated eye drop or change her lens prescription. I asked about the eye patching she had been doing for four hours a day for several months and was told I could just stop. I never felt the two eye doctors listened well or really cared for my daughter's condition to show improvement. I spoke with Dr. Jalali on the phone one day concerning a student of mine and he mentioned he preferred to take a more holistic approach to treating eye conditions. I was sold because I do not like to medicate my children at all, and my daughter had been on medicated eye drops for four years at this point with not much weaning off. When my daughter was 11 years old, we started seeing Dr. Jalali. I was so impressed with Dr. Jalali at my daughter's first visit. He included her opinions and feelings in his recommendations for treatment. He told us about an eye wash she could do twice daily, daily warm compresses (we use a rice sock like we had been in the past when she actually had a "sty"), and a different eye drop that could be used less often. He also said she only needed to wear her glasses for reading, not all the time (which she was so blessed to hear). She is almost 13 years old and takes one eye drop just one time a day every Monday and another eye drop daily for one week, then off for one week. She also does twice daily eye washes and daily warm compresses. We also supplement with omegas as a family, and tried to increase her amount at Dr. Jalali's suggestion. She has had only one "sty" in the last 1 1/2 years she has been seeing Dr. Jalali. He also does not require we come visit every 3-4 months. Once the treatment was initiated and he saw it was working well for her, we only have to go every 6-12 months for a check up. He listened to my concerns with the treatment my daughter was getting from the other eye doctors and listened to my daughters concerns with wearing glasses and her treatment. He is a very kind, compassionate man who never talks down to you, and has his patient's best interests at heart. His entire staff is friendly also, from dealing with insurance issues to purchasing a new pair of glasses. I highly recommend him to people all the time. read more
