I waited almost 2 hours and it wouldn't summit. Tried several different things on their website all ending the same way.

The nurse staff is horrible! My mom has been in the hospital for 6 days and had emergency surgery. I have called 3-5 times a day every day. Left voicemail with nurse station, surgery, ICU, and Doctors. Not single response. Myself and family plus my mom who is the patient in the hospital are verbally assaulted by nurses daily! DO NOT USE this hospital! Quote from my mom (death would have been easier then staying here). Plus you can submit anything negative to their website or email. They only will accept positive feedback back.

Charging someone twice for the emergency room is ridiculous. The outrageous costs even with great insurance is concerning.

I had to leave work due to numbness in my feet only after standing for 10 minutes straight. I have had this issue for months and it keeps getting worse. I believe it's nerve problems caused by an underlying condition, they did not seem to care. They said a MRI is what I need but they won't give me one even though they are also an imaging facility so they should have machines to give me one. They seemed disappointed that I didn't have pain due to an injury recently although they could tell I was in pain. The workers got annoyed when I asked questions about what I was getting done and when I listed more problems that I was having. They kept pushing it off saying " it seems like sciatica nerve pain and there is nothing we can do here". Which I find ridiculous, they could have ordered more scans for me so they could find why it's getting worse especially since it's been going on for 6-7 months. They gave me three pills , a lidocaine patch , and a shot which all barely helped. I do not recommend going here at all.

I developed the ultimate respect when they took the stance to help my mother with long-term dementia...BCBS wanted her transferred to a county health center known as a dumping ground. They "held her hostage" for a week until Blue Cross approved an appropriate, incredible care program which ultimately placed her in a facility she LOVED and where she thrived for 8 1/2yrs. A lot has changed since then. I was asked by my out-of-state son a few weeks ago to take a phone charger to his father who had been admitted the day earlier into ER. I thought it would be an easy trip, even with my permanent concussion leaving me "weak" in formerly strong mental abilities. I drove in and immediately got lost. I saw tall buildings, a parking garage, winding drives. The ER was no longer a recognizable building with a parking lot. It had its own drive with four valets stationed. I panicked; I didn't know what to do. One of the valets came up to me, I explained my brewing meltdown re where to park. He calmly spoke to me and offered for me to pull a bit down the drive, park there by the door, and he would watch my car while I went inside. ER certainly had grown, was packed, but staff was calming and made sure I had help to where I needed to be. This was not going to be easy as my son's dad is my ex and I know his temperament. He was in his room, glad I had the cord, mad that I didn't have the charger portion which he had not said he needed.... hospitals often have extras of those. He was not pleasant, but the nurses were incredible. As I stepped outside his room, they approached me, one with a hug to calm my nerves. One, later told me her name Dylan M, said she was going to have Rachel H help find the piece he needed. It took a while to find one...I was so glad they did because he was not pleasant with anyone having to go in or out of his room to tend to his needs. Sorry to be so wordy, but I had asked their names and their supervisors' names because I wanted to make sure I wrote this review. The supervisors are Erics Avellan (mgr) and Jordan King (asst mgr). I had Dylan write the four names on a piece of paper for me. CB, my nickname for my "other half" Concussion Brain, must have misplaced the piece of paper when I got home. I couldn't find it anywhere! About 15min ago I opened my Bible and turned to the next set of verses I was to read. Yes, God made sure these angels would get their due review. God, bless these women, the job they do and the staff they work with to help their patients. The heartfelt way is still at this hospital....it may have grown, its name may have changed, but I have the same love and respect for the heart they put into their jobs!

Worst medical care system ever!…read more Our wonderful doctor of 22 years retired last year and we are trying to find a new primary care doctor. Well, good luck with that! We have tried calling four doctors so far. Right now, our primary need is to refill current prescriptions that we got from our old doctor less than 8 months ago. But, what a run around we are getting, since each doctor in the FMC system we called is telling us we are considered NEW patients and the next opening for a new patient appointment is in four months. So, after 22 years we are new patients? So, all those previous 22 years of office visits, physicals, tests, surgeries, etc. suddenly don't count? So every time I want to see a different doctor I am going to be considered a new patient? And therefore have to wait four months for an appointment, for a visit during which I see the doctor for only 15 minutes. Well then, what is the reason for being in the FMC system? All we need right now is to refill our prescriptions, something that we cannot wait four months to do. These scripts were written by a FMC doctor, why all the hassle when we just need refills. Oh wait... I was able to get an appointment for the following week to see a doctor when they wanted me to have two expensive test procedures. Oh wait... we were also told of a new FMC policy. Patients are now required to see a FMC doctor TWICE a year, whether they need to or not or else they go back to being NEW patients again. Florida Medical Clinic system seems more concerned with the bottom line of money making than in any real concern for their patients' health.

Dr. Jeffrey Francis came into my room, stood at the door, asked a few questions, never came near me, and said he was going to order an EKG. The EKG was performed and bloodwork was drawn. After an hour of sitting in the exam room, the discharge person came into my room with paperwork. What??? I never even saw the doctor again. I was told that HE HAD "LEFT FOR THE DAY". No conversation, no plan, no results of the EKG, no nothing. Remarkably, today, I read the results of my EKG, which were written by Dr. Francis and they state, "Possible Anterior Myocardial Infarction, PROBABLY OLD." So, this states that I possibly had a HEART ATTACK and it was "PROBABLY OLD"??? This is wrong on so many levels. This "Doctor" "Left for the day" without coming back into my room to talk about this or anything else? Another gentleman then did come in and basically said that he was the guy responsible for damage control when things go awry. Not knowing if I may or may not have had a heart attack, this gentleman stated that their purpose at that facility was to make sure that "you don't die within a week or two". That's GREAT! Perfect business model in a lifesaving position - just give them another week or two of life. Upon reading the results of the visit in my chart, the report is filled with lies written by Dr. Francis. The section "Physical Exam" is especially unsettling, as the doctor never touched my body, as he simply talked to me as he stood next to the door. This is shocking and absolutely unacceptable.

What a beautiful hospital and campus! This is kind of an odd statement considering that I came here…read moreduring the twilight hours and to the ER, no less. St. Joseph's Hospital - North is located just a bit north of Tampa by Cheval and Lutz, respectively. The hospital is situated at the critical crossroad of Dale Mabry and the 589 Veterans Expressway-Suncoast Parkway/568 off-shoot. This makes it easily accessible from various areas, whilst being fairly free of the Tampa Bay congestion. Parking here is fairly simple, as the lot is rather vast, while the signs make navigating the campus rather intuitive. When it comes to security, the team does a rather spectacular job to ensure that safety and protection of their patients and employees. With both the sheriff departments and security contractors on site, there is very little to worry about. I was directed to self-admit to St. Joseph's Hospital - North after incurring an injury during a work trip. After returning to Tampa, I was able to drive myself to this location with ease. As I entered the ER, I was screened by the security and welcomed by the friendly staff of the ER. The ER area and department was very clean and well maintained. The process of getting admitted was rather smooth, and it wasn't long before a nurse came to take my vitals and enter me into the triage process. I wasn't dying, so I understand the length of time it took before a doctor came to address my injuries. When a doctor did come, she was extremely pleasant and thorough. She provided a preliminary diagnosis and ordered some imaging. The technician was also an expert in her craft, which made the overall experience at the hospital worthy of mention. Great team of professionals to take care of your medical needs and concerns!

My experience with the Cardiology Department at St. Joseph's Hospital-North on Friday, June 3rd,…read morewas an absolute failure in patient Care, clinical and basic professionalism. I was admitted through the emergency department presenting with acute cardiac symptoms--including severe palpitations and a suspected arrhythmia ("skipping beats") that I could feel when checking my pulse. I was told an overnight admission was needed so a "CARDIOLOGIST COULD EVALUATE ME". I was subjected to 24 hours of diagnostic testing, without ever receiving actual specialist care. Instead: *Total Absence of a Cardiologist: Despite being admitted specifically for specialist evaluation, a cardiologist never saw me. A Physician Assistant (PA) claimed remote telemetry showed nothing. When I told her that during my stay I have had felt the symptoms she said that she was going to check and "NEVER CAME BACK. *A physician HOSPITALIST later entered my room and claimed my EKG was normal. Anyone with basic medical knowledge knows a static EKG only captures a 30-second snapshot, if during those 30 minutes the symptoms do not occur it doesn't show on the EKG, that is why the 24 hrs. monitoring almost mandatory. This doctor didn't even know I was connected to telemetry monitor, (he asked "ME" if i new the results). I told him that I felt severe symptoms while actively connected to the monitor, (I even gave him the time in which I felt the symptom) he said he would look into it, walked out and never came back. *So after 24 hrs in the hospital connected to a monitor I was discharged without a definitive diagnosis, without a review of my telemetry results, and without the opportunity to ask questions or receive reassurance. My discharge papers listed a diagnosis of Angina Pectoris--a serious heart condition requiring immediate medication. Yet, the hospital failed to provide any prescriptions or counseling for it. If this diagnosis was legitimate, they violated the minimum standard of care by releasing me without medication. If it was not, it represents fraudulent medical documentation. *My blood work revealed a critical enzyme value that was double the maximum reference range. The medical team completely ignore this and failed to disclose this abnormality or advise me on outpatient follow-up. So, I spent 24 hours confined to a hospital bed, hooked up to a monitor, and subjected to X-rays, blood panels, and an echocardiogram, only to leave with ZERO clinical clarity in total contradiction with what the president of the hospital tells you in a message on the TV. It is entirely evident that St. Joseph's Hospital-North failed entirely in diagnosing a symptomatic patient. In total I saw a PA and a Hospitalist so where was the cardiologist that they say was necessary for my problem? I am formally reporting my case to Humana, my insurance carrier for an immediate investigation into their billing and medical practices because to me it looked like a standard procedure to squeeze the most amount money out of Medicare. Just in case you ask, I went to that hospital because my cardiologist works for the same corporation, so I thought I was going to be in good hands. Next time even with a heart attack I prefer to travel 20 more minutes to go to another hospital in the area which IT IS a real treatment hospital. Think twice to go there if you have a cardiac issue.
