Me and my fiancé were patients in April due to a head on collision. We were both injured pretty severely, I was not able to walk due to my knee getting fractures on both sides and my fiancé was very lightheaded and pale. We both arrived via EMS, he arrived first and they automatically roomed him due to being "critical". He did not look so well and I was panicking because that was my significant other. The nurse walked up to my stretcher and told me they roomed him due to being critical and when I asked if he was ok they did not give me any detail or answer but sent me to the triage room. There was where I was sat for 2 HOURS. They could not put me in the waiting room due to me hysterically crying from not only the pain that was coming in from my adrenaline wearing off but the fact that I had no clue if my fiancé was ok. I had his phone cause he forgot it and no one would give it to him. I kept asking for pain meds, willing to do anything that needed to be done to receive it and no one told me anything until 2 hours in after my mom had to find the nurse for the 3rd time for pain meds. All I had to do was pee for a pregnancy test... 2 hours to tell me that. I felt neglected and forgotten. They finally took me to get imaging done and that's not a problem I understand how busy it gets but no one came to check on me or update me. I had family be able to visit my fiancés room and he was ok. He was critical due to his potassium being low. They took good care of him but I honestly felt neglected if anything. read more

I was in severe pain from being attacked and my anemia was low and the nurses wouldn't give me heated blankets after my third request. They only had one physician on duty and no nurse practitioner or resident to help with patient care making my wait extremely long. Was admitted 11/1. Don't recommend. Paying $1000 for Tylenol and terrible service is ridiculous. read more

I can't say enough good about this hospital. I visited the emergency room and was immediately greeted by a check in desk staff member. He had me registered and checked in quickly. I sat down in the waiting room and in no time I was taken to a room by a nurse to get all my vitals. Then I was taken back to another room in the actual ER. After I was checked by a doctor a series of tests were ordered. After a reasonable amount of time I was given a diagnosis and released. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Nobody likes going to the hospital, but if you must, this facility is awesome. I went in at 5am for outpatient surgery for my aging hip. It starts when you walk through the door into what looks more like a five star hotel than a hospital; complete with player piano in the lobby. The staff is amazing. Everyone wearing a smile and providing care and compassion. Every person that would be involved in my care came to see me in preop to introduce themselves, share their role and answer any questions. I will continue to avoid hospitals when I can but am thrilled to know Advent is here if I need them again. read more

I went to the ER in much pain. I waited 1 hour and half to even get to the exam room. There I waited another hour before anyone came to see me. They poked me several times leaving me black and blue (large ones) in every are they poked me with a needle. Telling me repeatedly Sorry I dont know what Im doing and laughing. It took several hours to get a dr to give me pain medication. I was admitted for 4 days. They wanted me to be transported to another hospital of theirs I refused. I was not in any condition to go for a ride. Then a woman and a aid came to my room and did a FULL body search from foot to head and then some! Like I was a criminal. I had test done and never got an answer. I was told it is sigmond diverticulitis. The girl that worked there was taking my info when I first arrived. She was sitting there laughing her head off. I asked what her problem was. She just kept on laughing hysterically. This is not the first time I went to this particular ER. Each time I had a very bad experience! The last Er visit a dr came to the exam room and started yelling loud at me. He kept repeating Don't do it over and over mean voice and wouldn't stop. I never knew what he was talking about or why he did that to me. He should of been reported but no one would give me his name. Even a nurse that witnessed this wouldn't tell me. The nurse staff is horrible! My mom has been in the hospital for 6 days and had emergency surgery. I have called 3-5 times a day every day. Left voicemail with nurse station, surgery, ICU, and Doctors. Not single response. Myself and family plus my mom who is the patient in the hospital are verbally assaulted by nurses daily! I would not recommend going to any of these hospitals because they charge you out the nose and when they send a bill to collections and you're willing to set up a payment plan and they would have pull it from that collections company they are unwilling to do that because it's too much hassle on there end it sounded like when I was talking to the person. I have dealt with this hospital in two different states that I've lived in and in both states they've literally dropped the ball in so many way that I am not even sure how they have become the next monopoly man in the medical system. Ridiculous and disgusting. The fact the company sends your bill to a collection and the collections company pays pennies on the debt and buys in bulk and the hospital wont let the patient pay what the the collection company actually pays for those debts is ridiculous and disgusting and a horrible business practice. My review is based on the ER. I came in about 10pm on a Friday night after a bad dog bite. Every single person I interacted with was so friendly. From the security at the front to the patient care. We didn't leave until 2:30am, which was really the only negative, but someone always came by to check on me and apologize for the wait time because they were overwhelmed with patients. Less than 10 minutes from my home, if I ever need emergency care again, I will definitely come here. They sent me home with extra gauze for cleanings, a prescription, and basically a pamphlet on importance of seeking medical attention for dog bites. read more

Arrived in the ER on a Friday evening at roughly 815pm. There was only a few people in the lobby, so I was checked in pretty quickly. After registering insurance and drivers license, I took a seat for roughly 15minutes, where I was then moved to triage for bloodwork and urine sample pretty quickly. I was there for severe L flank pain and terrible nausea. Because of my history with kidney stones, this was pretty textbook symptoms of a kidney stone. I was moved to a room in the ED where I was met by nursing. My pain was managed pretty quickly, which was helpful. After roughly 40mn, the ED doctor did come to see me and let me know I would be sent for a CT, which is pretty standard. As I knew the steps being taken, I also wanted to make sure that urology was consulted. I went to have the CT, which the ED physician did confirm it was a kidney stone later on. It was a 1cm kidney stone, which is pretty big and is most likely not going to pass on its own. This would require surgical intervention. Once again, I was very structured with my questions asking if urology had been consulted. The ER physician explained that urology would not be called until the morning, which is absolutely unacceptable. He went on to explain that I should be admitted overnight for pain manageme and that I will be seen by urology the next morning. Urology came the next morning and laid out 2 options. Attempt a ureteroscopy, which would be a 50/50 shot of getting the stone out, or sent home with pain meds and scheduled for outpatient surgery 2 weeks from that particular Saturday. I was requesting a Lithotripsy, which is non invasive and uses waves to break up a kidney stone without hardly any risks of injury. I've had this procedure done at this hospital before and it was a huge success. Unfortunately, I was told by the urologist the next morning that the Lithotripsy machine was not an available, which, again, is unacceptable. If the ER doctor would've called the urologist that night, I would've known the Lithotripsy machine was not available, sent home, and scheduled for outpatient surgery. Instead, I will now be hit with a huge bill for an overnight stay that was not needed. This is going to cost me 1000s of dollars for no reason. Stay away from this hospital system! read more

My husband is in a rehabilitation facility close to this hospital. He had to be taken to the emergency room today to have his Foley catheter replaced. This is the second trip to this emergency room for the catheter to be changed in 4 days. I was told that he was going to be seen by a Urologist today to determine what was going on. I asked him if he saw the doctor and he said no he never saw any doctor. He said two nurses changed the catheter. One nurse called me and told me that he had been cleared for discharge could I come and get him to take him back to his rehab facility. She said call when I got there and they would bring him out in a wheelchair. I did as she said and called that I was at the ER entrance to pick him up. After waiting a long period time I got out of the car in the rain and went inside to the front desk at the ER I told the man the name of the patient I was there to pick up and he told me where to go. Well it appears that no one in the ER had any idea who I was talking about picking up and they had no idea where he was. They went so far as to say he was in the cardiac cath lab. I hope to never have to go to this hell hole again. My fur babies get better taken care of at Banfield Pet Hospital. This place is horrible. read more

I came to ER after a sudden onset of multiple symptoms. I could barely stand up straight at that moment and was wheeled into the ER by security at the door. Although I was little disoriented and in a lot of discomfort, I probably saw 5-8 different nurses, assistants and doctors in the span of 20 minutes trying to triage and facilitate my issues. And after spending a few hours in the ER, I was at least somewhat back to normal. Everyone was professional, understanding and helpful. The issue turned out to be much more serious than I expected and was admitted into the hospital. The facilities are nice, clean, efficient. I had my own private room with bathroom, adjustable bed, desk area and couch. The room was bigger than some hotel rooms you'll find in big cities. The care and professionalism from every doctor, nurse and technician were just outstanding. My room was cleaned and sanitized everyday and the food was descent (keeping in my that they serve probably most patients the same food and everyone has different dietary needs, the food has to be palatable to everyone...) The treatment I've received was far and above anything I expected, granted this is my first and only experience requiring a stay at a hospital (hopefully my last for a very very long time) so my point of comparison may be limited, but from what I've seen when visiting family or friends at other hospitals, there is no comparison. read more

No one likes to go to the hospital but I am definitely going here if I ever need to in the future. This past week I had to visit with a friend who had an emergency mid week in the middle of the day. FL Hospital WC is closest to our homes so we headed to the emergency room there. The wait once arriving was about 5 minutes. In the small amount of time I had to take in the waiting area I was comfortable. Clean, TVs, nice kids area, super friendly staff. Not to mention they skipped triage for my friend based on his symptoms and didn't waste time getting him care. The doctors and nurses were super friendly, responded quickly to the "help" button once in the care area. They were calm and explained everything they were doing in detail. Before this encounter, I had visited a friend who was staying inpatient when the hospital first opened. The room was so clean and technologically advanced. It seemed like more of a hotel room. While they advertise free valet parking at the front doors, you can easily park in the large lot out front for free and for as long as you need to. It makes being in a hospital feel like visiting a museum or office space. No weird smells and complete calm throughout. read more

Doctors and staff don't talk to each other. The communication is the worst I have ever seen. I was waiting for 4 hours and was never seen. There was a nurse calling a persons name who was already in a room. There were people waiting over 16 hours in visible agony and still waiting in the waiting room. My friend came here a couple weeks ago and had the worst experience, too. Do yourself a favor and go to any other emergency room or hospital if you can. I had back surgery at this hospital on 5/31. I got an IV before surgery and it was painful and essentially was failing. The nurse anesthetist said she could use it to get me under for surgery and would replace it while I was under. When I woke up I was crying in pain. I asked for pain meds. The nurse said he gave a dose. It didn't work. Then he gave another. Still nothing. By the time I sat up in bed I could see that the original IV was not replaced and my hand/wrist/most of my arm was so swollen from an infiltrated IV. I advised the nurse and asked him to ask the anesthesiologist to put another line in and give me an actual dose of pain meds. I then got up, used a walker to go to the restroom. When I came back to sit down, the nurse had unlocked the bed (meaning it can move around), for no reason. I had plenty of space between my caregiver, the bed and walker to move. I almost fell and my mom caught me. The nurse didn't even apologize. The doctor wouldn't replace the line. My surgeon even asked why his happened , and the nurse anesthetist said "I flushed the line and it seemed like it worked fine." And obviously it didn't. I tried to address all of my concerns with the charge nurse before leaving and she was too busy to help me. I just wanted to go home and I would take my post op meds instead. I called the charge nurse after I left and she put me on speaker phone with the nurse floor manager. They didn't seem to care. I called the pain management office and a staff member (not a doctor) called to get an email/fax to send authorization to speak to about me, and instead of getting my authorization, Lori, the floor manager, just gave all of my info. So she violated my civil rights by violating my HIPPA rights. I called her to ask how this happened and I said "you violated my HIPPA privacy, you know it and I know it." Her response was "and what are you going to do about it?" I filed a complaint with the state of Florida against the hospital, the joint commission, DNV, the risk manager, Vicky, and the CMO (chief medical officer) and my insurance company. I can now file a complaint against the nurse anesthetist, anesthesiologist, post op nurse, charge nurse and nurse floor manager. Couldn't even get an "I'm sorry" out of the hospital staff. I am due to be back there in September for a follow up surgery and I'm afraid they're going to kill me. I just received my medical records and saw the snarky, unprofessional comments left by the charge nurse stating "how much pain can she be in if I heard her ordering food while on the phone with me!" Like bitch, I hadn't eaten since 10pm the night before, nor did my mom and it's now 1pm. Am I not allowed to get food to eat? WTF?! The Fucking audacity! The post op nurse even falsified my pain level when I left. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL! They do not care about you. read more

I spent approximately 5-6 months total at this facility for a severe form of necrotizing pancreatitis. They saved my life! The nurses were seriously angels! My doctors worked night and day to help me recover. They were compassionate and patient with me as I embraced my new reality of living with chronic illness. I may be naive but, this hospital was always clean, the staff was almost 99% perfect and I feel blessed that this was where I went to recover. I seriously cannot think of a single constructive criticism about this place. No one wants to be in the hospital. Normally I would not do this but this hospital administrative staff and their security team is the worse I have ever experienced. My wife was admitted after a medical emergency. My problems began when I left later that evening after visiting hours I was told by the nurse that I would be able to drop off some personal hygiene and belongings. Upon my arrival to the 3rd floor I was refused access even though I just spoke to the nurses on my way out as they all wanted to see my wifes service animal. I only took 30 minutes round trip to bring her items to her. The charge nurse refused to come see me or notify my wifes nurse that I had her belongings. I showed her the bag through the camera and instead of coming to assist me she sent a security officer who made me uncomfortable and violated my personal space. Since I was going no where I decided that I would go to the ER and speak with a nurse there to help me but he showed up to the ER and again violated my personal space. I asked him that if he was going to take possession of her items then I would ask her to do an inventory to which he refused. He became more aggravated with me and things continued to go south from there. Luckily the Patient Care Tech came down to see me because I called my wife and asked her to send someone to get her things.There is a huge difference between visiting someone and dropping off personal belongings. My second incident involved part of the same security team who was abrasive and confrontational even thought he pre-op nurses asked me to come up and our friend was existing the area. The Security team was so insensitive that they came to assist me with the situation. Now my wife is going into surgery and I'm not allowed in the hospital. My third incident began with my wifes service dog. I brought him back a day later to help my wife and I didnt even make it pass go. I was told by CINDI the security team member that animals were not allowed. I explained that he was a service animal could not be refused. I got into a verbal discussion with her and I exited the front lobby in anger. I immediately called the house supervisor and I began to tell her about my issues and she completely violated the ADA. She asked me what my wifes medical problem was and what did the dog do. She also told me that I needed to leave the premisses and or come back with a prescription or doctor's note verifying the dogs legitimacy. All violations of the ADA. My best advice with Advent is pretend your in jail and do exactly as your told and verify the information you are given because even if it is wrong you will be the one held responsible. The admin staff and security team has no empathy or compassion, they violate every single one of their principals in the code of ethics read more

Well this was my first visit to Advent Health Hospital for an outpatient test. I have to say I was quite impressed! I walked through the main entrance and thought I was entering a plush hotel. The lobby was comfortable and spacious, with even a piano playing softly. Now I see why they call it the "concierge" area. I was quickly seen by registration in a private office and quickly called back by staff. Everything about my experience was top notch down. This facility opened in 2012 with 5 operating rooms & 18 ER rooms and is undergoing an expansion already. It consists of a hospital and a freestanding wellness center. I have not directly experienced the hospital but have toured the wellness center. It is huge and is on or above par with a LA Fitness center as far as size and scope of services. I'm 31 and a female, and due to life and how its treated me my back was in horrible shape. So much so that I've had 2 discectomies, 13 steroid injections, 2 ablations, and lots of other work done on me to help solve my situation. It was a matter of when, NOT IF I was going to get a fusion. This was told to me by MULTIPLE neurosurgeons and pain management doctors that saw my L4 L5 disc was practically nonexistent. So it was time for a XLIF spinal fusion, recommended by Dr. Amarian at Neuspine Institute. In knowing this here's how my time at this hospital was. Came in at 0500 and had to wait an hour before being called back, no qualms there I'm super patient although my mother was not lol. Got to the back, got undressed, the works. I'm the type to warn whoever is sticking me for an IV that my veins like to roll and I know of 3 or four good places to get a good spot. Waited another 30 mins before going under. Everything in the OR was normal to me. I'm not the type to get scared of surgery as I've had plenty already so I knew I was in good hands.... or so I thought. All I remember from waking up was the EXCRUCIATING PAIN all in my back and right leg. Felt like I was being torn in half at my hip. They had put me in the maternity ward. I was screaming at the top of my lungs from the pain and couldn't sleep. My eyes were shut tightly as thats my response to pain, but I could hear everything around me. Although sometimes the pain would worsen in waves every minute and sometimes i would just see red or white while my eyes were shut screaming and time would either speed up or slow down. I could hear a few nurses who would walk in saying "this is not normal. She shouldn't be in this much pain." I was like this for 3 whole fucking days. Whenever they tried to give me pain meds it was never strong enough, and at one point it was as if the nurses and pain management doctor they had were blaming ME for having taken pain meds for years to help with my back pain. Yes I did in the past have to go up and down in dosage as my situation did. I remember a time when I didn't even take a pain pill even though I had them for my back problems. But to treat a patient like it's their fault for your inability to find a solution is a major red flag for me. I was literally begging for death from anyone, doctors, nurses, my own mother. I was in so much pain for 3 whole days. My mother even ran out of my room screaming for someone to help her. I couldn't move, eat, or even have the sweet release of sleep. On the fourth day, finally, they found something to help...for 2 hrs. And I could only have it once every 4 to 6 hrs. So after 2 hrs of exhausted sleep I would wake from the pain screaming again. After a few hours they enlisted the help of a pain management doctor who started me on a regiment that seemed to work. I finally stopped screaming. I was able to sleep and better yet eat. Most of the nurses who helped me were awesome and helped a great deal with anything and everything that was needed, shoutout to Savanah and Gwen. You two are angels and helped me get my ass in gear once I was able to. But there were a few nurses who just didn't seem like they even wanted to be there. Barely checking in, taking forever to help with meds or a difficult trip to the bathroom. One tech was about to take my vitals but with her demeanor upon walking in, I'm glad my mother stopped her. She was backtalking my mother and was angrily tossing things around. The nurse that was trying to help me was so overwhelmed and overloaded I could tell which one was doing all the work. Also is it not customary to flush IV ports once every 2 hrs? I can only remember it being done a few times, and I had 3 IV ports. 3! I had to get a fourth as two of them collapsed and started leaking fluid all over me and my bed, and the initial janky one was no longer usable either. Just... wtf? The entire time I was there anytime there was a new nurse or doctor (except Dr Ichi he was very polite and nice) I kept hearing those words that noone with a chronic condition and who just happens to be young wants to hear, "You're only 31 and such a young woman, you shouldn't be having these kinds of back issues." Or "You're too young to be like this." My CT and MRI scans from BEFORE the surgery beg to differ. I was talked down to and condescendingly by more than a few of the staff, just because I'm young doesn't mean I have the best physical body. My mom told me that while she was making a food run she peaked into one of the staff rooms, apparently they had notes on patients that they had in their wing, some where innocuous and some obvious like one that was definitely about the older gentleman in the room next to me. Then she saw the one next to that that just read "We won't judge" Like, wtf??!! So if you're young and with a chronic illness DO NOT GO HERE, YOU ABSOLUTELY WILL BE JUDGED! Awful hospital they starved my father two days for 24 hours a few days apart since they scheduled him for heart catheterization twice and cancelled twice they finally said it may not provide additional information but if you want to do the procedure out patient you could.... then the tech took his vitals and blood pressure was 98/38 and didn't think anything was wrong and I asked to call a nurse and he said well let me take it again... what I said call a nurse so they gave him a pill to raise his bp but really didn't. then they knew for two days he was going to skilled nursing facility and they transported him at 9:30pm on a Friday and they facility really shouldn't of taken him with bp so low... Im making this review not as a patient but as a family member of 2 different patients that have ended here. My husband has been hospitalized twice here and he states that this is the best hospital he has ever been to. From the treatment, staff, accommodation to even the food. I gave them three stars because I appreciate the people who work in the hospitals despite all the draw backs these days. The hospital was clean and the staff were friendly. I had a severe digestive problem that a good interventional radiology department would have helped a lot.... Unfortunately this location was very disappointing in this area. I wasted several days because I was told my abscesses could not be drained by Interventional Radiology. My GI doctor called me while in the hospital and told me to transfer to a bigger hospital with a better IR department. This was time consuming and terribly uncomfortable. However I transferred to a much larger branch of Advent Health. They had a good Interventional Radiology Department. My abscesses were drained. I was treated successfully and recovered more quickly as a result. I'm not sure why I was not told by the medical staff at Wesley Chapel that I would benefit by a transfer to a bigger branch of Advent Health. This should have happened. It was very disappointing to be left in the dark until my own personal doctor helped me out. I now understand that you are your own patient advocate while in a hospital. You need to be proactive and make sure you are getting the best care. Contact your personal doctor and discuss your medical condition to get a trusted person's opinion. Trust but verify... read more

I cannot express how grateful I am for AdventHealth Wesley Chapel's medical staff. In the height of the pandemic with the second Covid variant...hospitals all over are understaffed, overworked and over populated with Covid patients. This week I went to TGH to get treated and my experience was crazy. It is not the fault of the hospital. Our healthcare professionals are doing the best that they can and I salute all of them. However-my experience at TGH and then my experience at Advent were so drastically different, I had to write a review...even as I am not feeling well. Later when my immune is back up-I want to pay a visit and bring flowers or some type of thank you to the staff that truly cared for me. Ok just to set the stage. I have been having problems breathing, I went to TGH and upon entry to the emergency room...I was triaged outside on the ramp. I threw up once I was sat down and a towel was thrown over my vomit...and they continued to triage me as if nothing happened. I was put in a back room that looked like it had not been used in years. And chairs that looked like it came from an old banquet hall were being propped down and patients were sitting side by side. Throughout the night several nurses came around and kept asking the same questions. Some were yelling and frustrated, some were patient. Everyone was everywhere. I left the hospital, never seeing a doctor....still not being able to breathe. I was told if I feel the same to come back after I was asked for a 300 copay. The next day my symptoms got worse and instead of driving all the way downtown, I opted to go to Advent Wesley Chapel which is down the street from me. Upon entry to the emergency room, there were two individuals who came out with a wheelchair, masked me up and took me directly into the triage room. The front desk woman--came to me and held my hand to reassure me that I would be ok. She took my ID and did not bother me with any questions. The nurse was so gentle and kind. He knew I was I crisis mode and tried to help me as much as possible. The emergency waiting room is not large, so they had all of the patients spread out and into the beautiful concierge lobby. I was wheeled into that space (which is huge) and I was comforted looking at the blue up lighting, the windows and to hear the soft piano sounds in the background. Although I was almost losing consciousness-I started to feel some type of relief in that space. Nurses were coming around asking how ppl were feeling, bringing blankets. Mind you this is all around 1am. I had full work up done-EKG, chest X-ray, blood work and I actually saw a doctor who prescribed me medicine to make me more comfortable. My experience was so mind blowing. I don't know if the company being Christian owned has anything to do with it-but it was truly a Godsend. I am still on my road to recovery...but Every time I start to feel sick, I close my eyes and imagine sitting in that lobby with all of those caring individuals and it gives me hope that I will make it through this. Charging someone twice for the emergency room is ridiculous. The outrageous costs even with great insurance is concerning.

I took my husband into the ER at midnight with chest pains. The nurses took him in right away and the staff began running all tests needed. I was not allowed into the ER with him due to new COVID "visiting" hours but the nurse personally called me and let me know what my husband status was. My hubby left his phone in the car during all the commotion and another nurse was kind enough to bring it back to him so that we could stay in contact. He also does not have health insurance and he let them know. The Dr was thorough and the staff was so kind and helpful. We recently received the bill and they discounted a great portion of the bill and we are more than happy to pay all of it. Hopefully, that was the whole thing and there aren't any other bills still being processed for delivery lol The only thing that I thought was questionable was that they did not test him for COVID, however, he did not have any COVID symptoms and all other test results were coming in negative so the Doc felt it was unnecessary. I can say today, now two weeks later, that he does not have COVID. read more

Florida Hospital at Wesley Chapel is worst hospital in the Tampa Bay area. I came here last night complaining of a sharp pain in my upper right hand side of my lungs. The doctor is the ER was very nice and compassionate and some tests and determined that I had a mass growing in my lungs and it could be cancer. I also complained about pain that I had in right leg to the doctor whose name is Dr. Francisco Jose Atez, MD. Dr Atez is one of finest doctors I met in this hospital and one of the best in the Tampa Bay area. He would do better somewhere else. While waiting I was sent up to room 265. Room 265 represents an observation room. During my stay there one nurse lied to me about my treatment and refused to be in the same room with her. I waited until she got off and went back to my room. While to hear back from the doctors about weather or not I have cancer or not I asked for pain medication for my right leg and I was refused pain medication. I was offered morphine instead or Norco that I was given in the ER. NORCO works better than Morphine. The attending physician said that Oxycodone 5.325 was not part of the treatment plan as it was down stairs in the ER. I left and went back to the ER. I had an IV in my arm and they pulled it out and started to bleed. I am sitting in the ER in a blood stained hospital gown. This place is a joke. I recommend to everyone don't come here. read more

Don't ever go to this hospital. On March the 7th visited the hospital for an issue with my leg and waited 9 hours in the waiting room then got a bill for almost $1,000.00 that they are requesting me to pay even though a doctor never saw me it helped me. That day I saw over 30 people waiting for horrific hours with no one helping them. I sent a letter of compliment and still they want money for doing nothing. One guy waited 13 hours and also walked out. I'm sure he got a huge bill also. God is my vindicator and judgement will be served to this hospital for what they are doing. read more

DO NOT get admitted to this hospital. The patient care is terrible. They all but forgot about me during my 5-day stay: no bed sheet change, no offer of a shower or sponge bath, no checking on the patient every hour (even though the board in my room says hourly checks), my tray is full of cups, tissue, etc. and I had to ASK someone to throw it all away, etc. As for the food, I'd rather starve, and so would my family. As a patient with diverticulitis, why would they serve me tomato soup with SEEDS in it?! Trust me, go somewhere else. read more

I went to the ER on a Sunday morning for severe back pain. Waited about 30 minutes to have vitals taken and be triaged, then another 30 minutes or so to be taken back to a private room to see a nurse practitioner. He was very knowledgeable and took time to answer all my questions. I waited a bit longer for another nurse to come with a first dose of meds and to take a urine sample. Then transferred to a post-ER recovery area with a private curtained-off area to wait to see if the meds helped and for the results of the urine test. Left with a prescription to manage my symptoms and a follow-up specialist to contact if my issue isn't resolved. Altogether, I was at the hospital for about 4 hours. The process was very organized and everyone I dealt with was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place based on my experience there. read more

I racked up a few more frequent flyer miles here at the Advent Hospital in Wesley Chapel FL. They actually care about you here. Nurse Barbara was an amazing nurse in the Cardiac wing I felt like she was my personal nurse. They were all good and the chef that comes and takes your order for cooks up some really good food. Dr Ahmed thanks for fixing my heart. Dr. Spencer thank you for all you did. First - Thank you to all the ER staff of all your help. All you went well beyond expectations . I had a COPD FLARE UP and they handled it with true professional approach : "YOU ARE TRULY APPRECIATED". I get the stress everyone there is working under and you take all the cast offs for our primary doctors and the Walkin Clinics. From the front desk through the discharge process - all the best people you can find. May GOD keep you save, I do not know how you people handle your work load. Now to all you people complaining about the wait time. I want you to read below. 1) I called on primary on Friday morning ( this happens a few times a year ) They told me to come in on the 10 . They were booked . Can you guess who will be switching doctors. 2) On Saturday - Went to the Walkin clinic - The flare up was getting worse , The quote statement was we are short staffed because of holiday but will get to you when we can but we do not accept appointments . SO I asked then why did a setup an appointment on your website . The response was special " OH WELL" read more

I wasn't happy with my emergency room experience here, but they more than made up for it with how they took care of one of my loved ones. When they went to the emergency room here we never could have guessed that they had a serious issue that would require them to stay several days. From the moment they arrived they received excellent, caring help from all of the staff. The nurses and the hospitalists were especially wonderful. We were so delighted to find there were private rooms, which made such a difference in the healing process. Many hospitals have very restrictive visiting hours but that's certainly not the case here. Do you want to have four people in the room at the same time? That's fine. Do you want to stay with your loved one until midnight? That's fine. Does someone want to spend the night in the room with them? Not only is that fine, but they also have a pull-out bed for your convenience! Since you're allowed to come and go anytime you want there are many security measures. You have to go through multiple checkpoints where you speak into an intercom and tell them what patient and what room you are trying to walk too. I thought this was great and prevented some random nut from just walking in and doing whatever they wanted. This whole complex is a modern, impressive facility. They even have a seriously impressive gym in the building next door that is open to the public! If it wasn't for their hours open (I'm a night owl) I would have joined. The only thing I thought was incredibly odd was that there is a "healing garden" outside, but the door to reach it is one way only. It locks behind you and you can't go back into the hospital through it. So to get back inside I had to walk completely around the building and through a loading dock at one point. I didn't see any patients in the garden. In fact the only people I saw were employees going to the parking lot. As for my emergency room experience I was only there for a couple hours. The doctor who discharged me had a terrible bedside manner and seemed genuinely annoyed at the handful of questions I had about being released. I'm going to chalk it up to just being a bad apple. They treated my loved one so well over so many days that I would not hesitate to come back here myself for care. read more
