I have had multiple accounts and loans through ACU and been a member for almost 15 years - had an issue while switching bill pays to a new checking account. Adventure didn't cover the charge, which resulted in a number of 'insufficient funds' charges because the payments kept bouncing back. Successfully disputed the charges with the payment companies, but Adventure wouldn't adjust all of the overdraft fees, even though they didn't cover a single dime of the payments. They said that if I could provide proof that the error was not my fault, they would adjust off two more, but that was the max. I requested letters from the payment companies, explained that I would submit them to Adventure as soon as I received them. Whilst waiting for the letters, Adventure charged off my account. Not to mention, I have talked to at least 5 different people throughout this whole situation, and every single one of them was rude, had zero sympathy or concern for my situation, and absolutely unhelpful - and I waited on hold for over half an hour each time I called in. read more

The online/text/phone customer service for this credit union is awful! I truly miss Astera where they really made you feel like a member. I have great experiences when I visit the branches, but when you try to call they "encourage" you to use the online tools or text and those folks take forever to respond IF the do respond! As soon as my loan is done with them or moved to a different company we're done banking with them. Horrible! read more

We have had an account with Adventure C.C. (Michigan Bell C.U.) for years, and we just closed our accounts with them because they are not friendly people. I have tried calling them twice today, and was on hold for 15+ minutes, and then finally when they answered it went to a dial tone and I was disconnected. this bank is horrible they took my vehicle because I was unable to pay due to me not having a account number to pay to no one could verify who I was because the dealership sent over the wrong bday and phone number to my account so they couldnt find me I now have a attorney general involved and I'm going to sue them I have never received any paper work from this bank in regards to showing me how to pay ! so with that being said don't bank with them or get a loan through them these bitches are horrible read more

This is the WORST CU!! They hold your CASH deposits at the ATM, they say no to every loan attempt no matter your credit, job, housing history, or money in account. Truly the most awful place to bank. This credit Union used to be fabulous. With every change that has taken place since it was initially Bell com credit Union it has gotten worse. I spent 7 months trying to get a safe to win certificate of deposit straightened out three or four different people try to get this to work correctly for me money was going everywhere but where it was supposed to be. In addition to that for 4 years now our insurance company has sent proof of insurance on a vehicle we have a loan on. I have proof of communication from our insurance company to the credit union email address they provided and every year we get letters saying we need to provide insurance information. I emailed it insurance emailed it I took it over physically and they still took out a loan for insurance for my husband. We just got that letter again. I had been with this credit Union for 50 years but just cannot do it anymore so I have left, my husband is now seriously thinking about it too. Find yourself someplace else to do your finances. read more

I've been a member of Adventure Credit Union for 20 years, that means NOTHING to them! Customer service sucks and the new directors running the bank, since it changed from Option 1, suck even more! They'd better start caring about their members before they don't have any. read more

We were sitting in line before 5p, we watched them turn off the closed lights on and they would not serve us even though we were in line prior to close. We drove 45 minutes to access the bank, because their other locations close earlier! read more

I have been part of this credit union for about 23 years. Bell com was great as with as optionone. Adventure is not that friendly and I mostly will be leaving this credit union. Some times a smile goes a long way. I would agree with the other if you want to apply for a loan, this credit union will be rude. read more

I am giving this place 1 star, simply because the one woman I spoke with was nice and was pleasant. Otherwise, they're a disaster. Do yourself a favor and for the love of all that's holy, DON'T get involved with them. DO NOT get a mortgage. They paid a portion of my taxes out of MY escrow and didn't pay the whole thing. I am now being threatened by the county that they will take my home. Can't reach a person on the phone....no one knows anything about anything. They're an absolute nightmare, to say the least. I went in to the bank today to apply for an Edge Checking account. I was excited about the 4% interest rate and the staff was nice. I finish getting the account and go to deposit my check and they wouldn't let me. I spent an hour with the online form and an hour in person just to get an account that I can't use. I would highly highly not recommend using this bank. read more

I would stay far, far away from this credit union. We have been trying to work with them getting my deceased mother-in-laws car payed off. The check was mailed out 20 days ago and according to adventure they have not received the check yet. Very hard to believe. So we keeping getting the run a round while they send us past due notices. When my mother-in-law was alive and she needed to contact them they were always very rude to her. read more

If you want a bank with an online banking experience and all of the security features of the 90's bank here. And dont even bother with trying to pay your car loan online. They will just ignore your externally linked account and then charge your adventure savings and overdraft it and then make you pay late fees and overdraft charges. Have to pay online as I have moved out of state. I think they actually want to give me my money back.... im just not sure they know how. read more

Definitely going to report this company to BBB. They send you letters in the mail saying you are qualified for an account then when you go to open one you get denied. Terrible service on the phone. They use one number for every branch and you can wait for ever to even talk to someone. If you need to replace your debit card, they charge you $10. Fast loan applications. good apps and online banking services. 4% interest on checking is awesome! read more

I have been with them since the Bell Com days....no complaints. I tried to get a Mortgage there, that was kinda difficult, ended up with my original company. I don't like the name changes, but overall they do a nice job. The online banking is perfect for me, I can check balances and make transfers as much as I want. read more

I would run away from doing business here. I was a customer for over 20 years, 5 accounts, home and car loans. They unjustly charged over $150 for me to close an account and not once did I hear anyone ask how they could keep me as a member. The 'fraud' department is a joke and customer service is unheard of. originally I would have given Option 1 five stars. I was considering a mortgage through them at one time. I put 50.00 in an account. Worked with a very helpful person, but then went on to get a privately funded mortgage. I had planned to move my money to Option 1 and today, finally squeezed out the time to do so, only to find my 50.00 turned to 30.00 and I had received no notification. Although they said I had received electronic messages. Of course they said it was in the fine print. But the whole thing is unethical and they lost someone who was planning to move their money to Option 1. Sad. read more

Got an auto loan through them in my name because my boyfriend has no credit. He went in and set up a savings account and signed the paperwork for automatic payments for the truck to come out of his account. He made the first deposit and double checked everything was ok-the lady couldn't find it so I had to go in again and THEN she found it. First auto deduct payment was fine. Boyfriend checks his account and the 2nd payment had not been deducted and it was a day late so he called and the bank transferred the money but said the automatic withdrawal payment was only set up for a time time withdrawal! Are you kidding me-who would make a one time auto payment? He could have made the payment when he deposited it in his account-why would they only set up a one time payment? I was having money direct deposited in my savings there for 2 months but I'm taking that all out today and moving it to one of my other 2 banks where they are not incompetent as I spend a THIRD Saturday there trying to get this BS straightened out. The loan can't be paid off before 6 months without penalty but you can bet I will be transferring the remaining balance to another bank and NEVER doing business with Adventure again as well as warning all my friends and family. read more

We were attracted to Option 1 because of the Yes! To Mortgage product they're currently offering; good rates, no PMI, discounted closing costs because of my employer. My on-boarding experience with Eric was great, he took the time to explain the process to me and answered all of my questions. We made an offer on a home and the offer was accepted on 3/16/16, starting the loan processing journey. We were assigned to one of the loan processors and the very first call I received from her, she advised she wasn't able to answer questions because she had not looked at our file yet. Why would you call without reviewing my file first? Moving forward, she was our only contact. Her emails were not clear, I had many follow up questions, she requested the same documents several times (which I sent repeatedly), she used poor grammar/short hand, and was not great at customer service. At the beginning, she did not provide us with a complete check list of the documents needed, so, every other day I was asked to retrieve a document that was never previously asked for (in addition to sending documents I had already provided). She miss-spelled my name, the list goes on, pushing our closing date further into the future. Here we are a month later and we just got our clear to close today. Our purchase agreement had to be amended because the set close date of 4/15/16 could not be met. We will close 4/25, 10 days after schedule and 40 days after we started the process. I feel like there is a huge learning opportunity here and hope to receive better customer service from Option 1 in the future. I am grateful that this process is almost over. read more
