Right on the ocean Adventure Land has been here as long as I can remember. One great thing about this place is that over the years that i have been going to SouthEnd this place has grown and modernized. Plenty of things to do for kids of all ages from coasters, sk8board ride, arcades, small kiddie rides, gokarts, souvenirs. They also have a great food stall serving fresh espresso based coffee which was welcome on a frosty morning. A fun and entertaining theme park perfect for all the family. A good range of rides, some more for young children and some for your adrenaline junkies. My cousin and I had so much fun there, there is so much to do and so many rides to go on. Highlights are Mini Mega, The Rage, The Axis and the water slides. All staff are lovely and good for a chat. My only problem is the food from Feelgoods as it wasn't up to the standard. All in all a fun family experience, loved it. read more

I took my little girl for her 8th birthday and she loved it. It's not your typical theame park it's more like a fair ground it's main aim is at the kids with lots of rides they can go on by themselves but there are a few great rides for adults to like razor and claw . I would gladly go back again it's not to expensive ( cheaper if book online) for your bands and if you just want to go and watch the kids have fun it's free, if you don't want to go on the rides don't buy a band and you can just walk around in there, also there are things like go-carts and bumper cars which the bands don't include that you can just pay to go on. Over all it's a great day out for the kids, the staff are brilliant with kids and adults, there are plenty of places to eat and drink which are a bit on there dear side but they always are in these places, good all-round facility's and lots going on outside the park like the beach and amusements . It's a great day out at a seaside town. They have lots of great attractions and it's not a bad price either

I always think the particular stretch of seafront near the town centre is a bit tacky, even a little seedy but Adventure Island is its saving grace. Admission to the park is free so you can wander around, see the rides and mix with the characters. If you want to go on any of the rides you can buy wristbands for the kids, allowing unlimited access. The pricing is based on height (which will dictate how many of the rides kids can go on) for mini under 1 metre tall, junior 1 metre to 1.2 metres tall, and big adventrue for over 1.2 metres tall. The mini band costs £10 for peak visits and £7 for off peak + there is a £1.50 discount for advance online bookings. Also, anyone over 14 years old who accompanies a mini or junior band wearer gets free rides. Not a bad deal. There are rides for everyone here. There's a good selection of gentle rides for little ones and bigger, nervous ones right through to fearless thrill seekers. They have a new rollercoaster, Rage, which has a vertical drop then goes straight into a loop. I have watched from the sidelines a number of times but haven't plucked up the courage to give it a go yet. read more

This was the best day I've had since being on holiday. The rides were great even the little ones, and my fiancé and I had an amazing time. It's kid friendly, and even the food was pretty good. The Arcade is fun as well, we got distracted for a little over an hour arrived at 12, stayed till 5:30 just wish they closed later. Think of a cross between those visiting theme parks where the fear is, they're soo dodgy you might actually die, and Thorpe park type place where its just so big and cheesy and everything's so high. It's tacky and wonderful. It really is fun for all the family, good roller-coasters and big rides as well as water catapults and tea cups for the littleuns. The wristbands are actually really reasonably priced, buy them online and you save a BOMB. Big time. On a cold, windy weekday Adventure Island looks like the sad, similarly faded brother of New York's famous Coney Island, all rusty charm and weirdness. But glance over the expanse of rides and everyone's still having the time of their lives. It's impressive how much is packed in to a relatively small area, from go-carts to rollercoasters to those sickeningly scary rides that stick a vertical drop on you with no warning, to those freaky chairs that rotate wildly in the air. I'm not much of one for rides, as you might have guessed, but I can appreciate a whole heap of fun when I see one, even if it's other people who are going to have it. If you're heading to Southend for a chilled out weekend of hanging in your hotel room and gazing at the sea just make sure you stay somewhere further along the seafront, otherwise Adventure Island may prove a bit of an eyesore. read more

If you want a theme park with a lot of rides and very little queues Adventure Island is the place to go! Surrounded by arcades, the beach and numerous pubs and reastaurants you'll never run out of things to see and do in this area. Rides are seperated into sections such as kiddies, teenagers, and the hellriders and there is plenty of choice for all. There's even a huge mini golf (which is an extra to ticket price) and water slides that you don't often find in theme parks. I would say this theme park is a brilliant and friendly park, the staff are friendly and if you ask for something they will help you for example if you ask 'where are the rollercoaters' and they would show you. Its a great family day out with the kids, however not so good for older ones. read more

For a small amusement park this is a great place. There seems to be new rides each time we visit. There are rides which are suitable for all ages plus sideshows where you can win prizes (if you are lucky). It isn't bad value either as the wristband is half price after 6o'clock in the summer months. A good place for family fun - as long as you've got the money to spare. This place is gettin gbetter and better - and they are regularly introducing new, bigger rides - but they are a bit more expensive than they should be. The best way to visit is to go after 6:30, which is when they make the wristbands half price. Obviously if you're taking small children this might not be appropriate, but if you want a bit of fun and to go on more than 2 or 3 rides then it's worth waitin gfor the wristbands to become cheaper. read more

When I was younger I used to visit here almost weekly as it was Southend's answer to the bigger attractions such as Alton Towers. And I can't wait to take my son here when he is slightly older. There are a great choice of rides as they target most age groups, and every few years they bring out a new ride to keep it up to date and fun. It is always busy and you can't drive by it without seeing another coach of visiting tourists. It has however got more and more expensive, and I think they are beginning to push their luck with what they are charging. The onsite cafe/restaurant is average tourist quality but again is over priced. read more

I can't believe in all my 36 years I have never been here. We went as a family outing with our two daughters - one 5 and one 1. Wristband suitable for my short 5 year old was £22 (green) and some of the rides were quite fast, I think surprisingly so for a green wristband. More concerning were the number of rides (especially rollercoasters) that were in the red band. Red meaning 90cm +. The red band was £17 but not worth it for a young toddler, so few rides you would realistically put a little one on. It was a fun day. Wish the bands were a bit cheaper - especially for the bands aimed at the younger guests who can't go on everything. My parents were with us - neither of them would go on a ride if their lives depended on it but it was nice that there was sufficient seating outside each ride so you can see your family members actually on the ride. My dad who is disabled was pleasantly surprised by the fact that each ride says how disabled friendly it is and says if there are any specific disabilities that will prevent you from riding the ride. We only had a few hours on this occasion to spend at Adventure Island but we'd definitely return with a view to spending a whole day there. read more

Adventure island is a local theme/fun park, it's more for the whole family but there are a few rides that thrill-seekers might like. The rage includes a 90 degrees vertical climb at the very beginning which turns in to a 90 degrees vertical drop, however the ride is extremely short and it'd be over before you knew it. There's also the world's longest pleasure pier that runs through the middle of the park (although it's a separate attraction and requires admission charges). Overall it's still a good day out for the whole family if you live nearby or are in the area. I personally wouldn't travel too far just to see this. read more

What can i say about South End on Sea's Adventure Island apart from wow? Its a wonderful place for the whole family. You've got the pier amd the sea right next to it, along with the long roads of arcades. The rides are just amazing, especially the new rollercoasters. There are rides for the whole family, with excellent donut stands where the donuts are made right in front of you. There is go karting too. Adventure Island has great prices too. You get a wristband which can get you on all the rides apart form the go karts and dodgems, but theres are plenty more rides to choose from. You can go on the rides as much as you want. I recommend it as a day out for definate! read more

Southend Seafronts main attraction is Adventure Island, with free entry to the park you only need to pay if you want to play! Opening Times Opening times vary throughout the year and its always best to check either by giving them a ring or checking their website to find out what times they are open before heading down there. When the park is open they open at 11am but there closing times do vary between 5pm and 11pm, depending on the time of the year. Prices Allthough the prices vary quite dramatically throughout the year again it would be best to check before you leave. The best advice i could give you would be to hold out until they have an offer on which they do quite regularly as it can become a very expensive day out. Some of the promotions they have done in the past have included Ultra Save Bands, Winter Wonderbands and Big Day Bands, these can give you massive savings on wristbands which are usually full price £19 for a Super Saver or £14 for a Tiny Tots. You shoulod also watch out for special offers at C2C and One Train Stations and Stephensons Coaches as they often offer promotions where by if you pay in advance for your Adventure Island tickets you get free travel. SuperSaver wristbands are reccommended for those over 1m tall and Tiny Tots are reccommended for those under 1m tall. There are 18 Tiny Tots rides which you can use with either wristband although if there are children under 1.2m tall they will need to be accompanied by someone over the age of 14yrs before they can go on the ride. The person accompanying the child can ride free even if they dont have a wristband. The Super Saver gives you access to 31 rides in the park. There are other rides where the prices seem to vary from year to year these have to be paid for seperatly and are not included with the wristbands, these include dodgems and miniature golf. Restaurants Within The Park There are several restaurants within the park including The Jungle Jive Cafe. Which do what i suppose you would call the normal sort of foods you would find in a theme park, burgers, chips etc. There are many smaller stands around the park including home made fudge and candyfloss! All in all although this can work out as quite an expensive day it is great fun for adults and kids alike, and it is well worth a visit. I will warn you by the end of the day you will be exhausted!! This is an amusement fair located in southend on sea, it is FANTASTIC day out for children, the entrance is color coded arm bands based on height restrictions ranging from £18 to £11 for ALL RIDES all day, except for the Go KARTS & Bumper cars. The place is well run, clean, with lots of food outlets. Its a GREAT day out with the kids. I like Adventure Island when I have the kids in tow the value then can be brilliant and you can certainly spend a good half day here. A word of warning however when a group of adults recently visited and only wanted to go on a couple of rides they were bound to buying a £22 wristband each, which made the visit short as they would not pay this. Mr Millar could you consider selling a limted wristband that gives you a 5 or 10 ride maximum. Still we did stop off for a game of mini-golf which never fails to entertain for all ages. The park changes every year, it is clean and you do feel safe within it. The prices for food and drink are as to be expected, so if you begrudge paying theme park prices then take your own. read more

Anyone in the famil will be able to visit their as their are rides for more daring people, less daring people and small children. I'm visiting from U.S. and while the wait at the lines aren't too long I was disappointed that the park does not accept the chip and sign form of payment, thus ruling out any U.S. credit cards. To top that off there are no ATMs inside the park. I would have given this place a higher rating and spent more money on my kids. But not this time and possibly never. read more

I have been going here since I was very little and I love it just as much as I did then, if not more. I enjoy rides and the adrenaline rush that roller coasters bring however I am a naturally worried person so other slightly more popular theme parks in the UK aren't really my scene as even the younger rides seem to be thrilling! I took my cousin who was 3 at the time last year and she loved it. Some staff are friendlier than others but I guess you don't have to be over the top and particularly engaging when communicating with a teenager! Either bring your own food or go elsewhere outside of the park as the food on site is incredibly overpriced and rather greasy! All in all, fab place. read more

They say they are the UKs number one free entry theme park and I have to say that I agree. You can just go with the kids and get in for free and they can ride all the rollercoasters, etc. that they want while you watch for free. They have a great new coaster that is fast, has loops and is just fantastic! Other rides are great too. £20 for a wristband gievs you unlimited rides! And signup and buy online and it's cheaper!
