I think this is the tour company that organize the Adventure Kart Expedition tour. I booked the excursion via our cruise line. I highly recommend this tour to others. The tour is about $200 a person, it's a couple hours long. First, there's a boat ride with a tour guide that took us to the island where we can drive the go-kart. FYI - Ketchican is the world rainiest city-but we got lucky that it was a sunny day for us. Second, you got to drive-off road through the mountains for about 10 miles in the ATV like go-kart. It was totally AWESOME....it was a great way to see the nature in Alaska. At last, you will get bus back after your go-kart experience to the port. The bus driver also did a great job telling us more about Ketchikan. Tips: 1) It is quite a bumpy ride...you may want to skip it if you have back problem. 2) Wear something you don't mind getting dirty...cuz it gets pretty dusty driving off-road. 3) For couples/groups that are going together - you have to pay the tour fees even if you are not driving. I was going to be the passenger while my bf drove. But I changed my mind and drove on my own. It was so much fun. If you don't want to drive all 10 miles, you can switch w/ ur partner half-way when the tour stopped for scenery photos. See link for more information: http://www.capefoxtours.com/karts.html

This was indeed an adventure! The guides were friendly and very informative about all things Alaska and the karts were a blast with spectacular views at the middle of the expedition and a snack and beverage are enjoyed as well. Great photo opportunities so bring your camera (but cover it well) as EVERYTHING will be covered in dirt and/or mud once you get there! They supply gear to protect your clothing and provide eye goggles, helmets, and such.We had a great time and all ages were participating from couples in their twenties to about mid fifties or so. If you love the outdoors then you will love this expedition!

There is roughly a 30-40 minute ride through the town and up the mountains to reach the Go-Kart destination. I really enjoyed it since the driver also gave us a history tour. It's a little expensive since the whole drive is only about an hour over all. We switched drivers at a halfway point. You're given clothes go protect the ones you're wearing since you will definitely get dirty. I don't suggest wearing nice shoes unless you don't mind wearing shower caps over them. It was a fun drive but you can do more if your group isn't too big. My cousin got one of our tires stuck in the rocks and our engine started smoking and died. The worker was super nice and gave us her kart. She managed to start it back up again. The people of Alaska are really good natured and friendly.

When I couldn't find the eagles nest on my own they directed me towards the correct area. We saw sooo many eagles it was breathtaking! We drove by the totems, couldn't get too close so if that is your goal, you might choose another tour. We really went for the eagles so we were not disappointed as we saw tons! They also pointed out some seals and other wildlife. Much to our surprise they served us a delicious little snack with salmon dip, smoked salmon, crackers and locally made chocolate...as well as some pickled kelp I believe (I'm not a fan of pickled things so I tried but didn't pay attention lol). Well worth the price of the excursion in our opinion. Another surprise was they had a few locally made gifts on board, one of the deck hands is also a very gifted artist so he had designed some of the stickers and tees for sale. It's great to support locals! The captain was very knowledgeable about the homes along the shoreline as well...who knew there was a home featured in architectural digest in Ketchikan!?!

We walked casually through the forest while learning about the surrounding area and wildlife. We saw some eagles on our walk and eventually came upon the boardwalk near the salmon hatchery where we happened upon a black bear with its recent catch of salmon. After being mesmerized with the bear we walked further on the boardwalk to spy a ton of eagles perched in the trees and along areas in the low tide. Many full grown and juvenile eagles were spotted. Next we headed to watch a totem being carved them onto the blacksmithing area. Because we spent extra time with the bear we had a tad less time to wander around the grounds before boarding the bus again and heading back to the port. I thoroughly enjoyed the educational aspects of the excursion as well as the live appearances from the wildlife. It was an intimate tour with 11 of us total plus Ella. We really enjoyed the beautiful day outside along with wildlife spotting!

The entire trip was three hours. It was educational, funny, enjoyable with lots of interesting information: the history of the boat, the area; the ability to hold different types of crabs and other sea life, eat some fresh crab, all provided by the exceptional crew of the.Alutian Ballad. We saw a ton of eagles by Annette Island, and were given plenty of photo opportunities throughout the trip. Really cannot say enough positive things about the trip, and the entire crew, specifically, David, the big D, and Captain Ron. Also, the nicest restrooms I have ever been in on a boat, other than a cruise ship lol I would definitely go back on this trip again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the entire crew.

They were both extremely kind and made the experience truly one to remember. We traveled to Ketchikan on the Disney Wonder. This tour is perfect for adults and families alike. Although we chose this tour because of the connection to the TV show "The Deadliest Catch", I do not think knowledge of that show is necessary at all to enjoy the experience. Date of tour: July 18, 2025…read more Really enjoyed this all-women(!) crew on our visit to the Dawes Glacier. The boat was clean and spacious--there's nothing worse than being on a boat that is packed to the gills with people--with two levels to enjoy and outside areas as well, including a third level that was opened when the boat was not in motion. Everyone was friendly and the snack and drink options were plentiful and for the most part, affordable. Given the captive audience, I appreciated that they weren't outright gouging us during our journey. They also offered up some free items as well, which was also quite unexpected. Crew interacted well with the passengers, asking them how their cruise has been and where they were from. The collection of glacier ice to be used in the making of drinks at no additional cost was a nice touch, even giving the kids cups of glacier ice without a charge was something you rarely see in this day and age! There were some things that could be improved, though: - The captain scolding the crew over the public address system was unnecessary. Apparently the other boat forgot their net and we needed to pass it over to them but the crew was busy helping passengers and didn't want to make the lines longer by going to fetch the net and pass it over. Confident that this could have been handled better. - The free donut holes were awful. Like puffs of stale bread that sat next to sugar, hoping the wind would blow some sweetness onto them. I know, it's free, but still something that should not have been served. - Hearing a crew member awkwardly navigate the tipping section of the credit card machine literally 50 times the exact same way. Saying, "You can just hit skip. If I do it, I'll get talked to about it." There are so many other ways to handle this that don't come across like she's going to be beaten at the end of the cruise.
