We had such an amazing time on our boat tour in Ketchikan! This was easily one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and being out on the water gave us a completely different view of Ketchikan and the surrounding mountains and coastline. The crew was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the area. They made the experience fun and relaxing, and you could tell they genuinely wanted everyone onboard to have a great time. We also really appreciated how they shared information about the local wildlife, history, and community along the way. If you're visiting Ketchikan on an Alaska cruise and looking for something memorable to do, I would definitely recommend taking a boat tour. Our cruise line unexpectedly changed the departure time, making it almost impossible for us to do the pre-booked duck tour. Kody and the team went above and beyond to make it work, even arranging a special drop-off back at our cruise ship so we could return well before departure. That level of customer service alone was exceptional, but the tour itself exceeded all expectations. Great experience!!!! Booked with them directly instead of the cruise ship. Yes, I'm like most don't want to risk getting left.... however, if you plan it right by shuttling downtown shortly after docking and book an early tour, it certainly works out and saves you money. Stacy called me first thing in the morning and wisely moved my tour up 1/2 hour since NCL was casting off ridiculously early. That was very kind of her and shows the forethought of the company, because they didn't have to do that. Could've reasoned... "that's the time you booked, oh well." If you have a disability of any kind this is not a trip for you ! The boat is not designed for people with any disability. Loved watching older people trying to climb 8-10 metal steps. Town tour was cute stories driving around 3 miles. The water tour was floating around the dock basin. Wow look at the eagle ! You did not go into the open water. We landed early and spent 15 minutes listening to BS stories in the boat dock. Back to the starting dock to unload wow. What a waste of money. This was a waste of time and money. read more

Even though it was raining, this 90-minute land-and-sea adventure turned out to be the perfect way to explore Alaska's First City without getting soaked. The tour winds through the charming, rustic streets of Ketchikan before making a splash--literally--into the harbor for some incredible waterfront views. The live narration was fun, informative, and full of puns that kept us laughing the whole way. Our guide shared interesting facts and trivia about the town's history and culture, and we were lucky enough to spot bald eagles soaring overhead. The mix of entertainment and sightseeing made it easy to decide where we wanted to go next once the tour ended. This was a new one for me and an informative tour of the city. So odd to be able to launch right into water, then leave the steering wheel for a rudder! The only drawback was the sun beating down on the clear roof made it unbearable hot and we couldn't open the porthole because the speakers were mounted above it! Highlights/Tips: + You can easily purchase a ticket via your cruise ship, via their website, or possibly their location near the cruise port, but I would highly recommend pre-booking if you wish to take a tour at a specific time. +This short 1.5 hour tour provides a drive through the Ketchikan area, including near Creek Street, and a brief tour driving in a harbor area. + Seats are relatively comfortable, however, if your on the taller side, I opt for an aisle seat. +Tours are rain or shine. during rainy days, they will put down a plastic barrier, with little circles that you can open up to get some air/take pictures out of. +The guides provided commentary/info on a bit of the "punny" side on not only the local area, but Alaska in general during the tour + The tour provides a great option to sit back and get a brief highlights of the area. We actually walked just about the first half of the tour 2 hours before it started but it was nice to sit down in a bus style vehicle and see new sights from new heights. The host Isabelle was great and so was the driver/Captain. For how much the tour was , it sure would've been nice if something such as the duck whistles were included but, oh well. This was my third Duck Tour with Boston and Halifax as previous experiences. I enjoyed them so much I booked one in Ketchikan as I thought my Mom and Brother would love it too. They had never been on one before. We were coming in on a cruise and before we got in we were notified our tour was pushed back an hour. Ok. The new time is approaching so we get in the correct line and wait. We follow someone to a bus as the tour starts somewhere else. Ok. 10-15 mins later we're being dropped off at the amphibious vehicle, which is right in front of a different cruise boat. Lesson 1: Find out if you are at the pier the tour starts from or if you need to be shuttled there as it's way too far to walk. We board and are on our way. The banter is alright, John is way too young to be doing Dad jokes, but my family is enjoying it. We get into the water. We boat past a pier and a little into the open water - but not much, not really; it could still be considered the pier area. We return to the area we boarded and disembark. It's now spitting rain, windy, and cold. There's no van waiting to pick us up. There is a driver with a full van calling "the boss". He literally stands there with his phone for 10-15 mins waiting to hear from "the boss". He could have dropped off the group in the van and have maybe been on his way back at that point. We're now getting directions that we can walk to a different pier to catch the regular shuttles. He points in the direction of the pier but it's so far that we can't see it. 10 min walk we're being told. Not at all a big deal except we're not local and since we can't see it have a fairly high chance of getting lost. Lesson 2: Not only are they confused and uncoordinated, they really don't care. Time is going on by. Since the tour was pushed back an hour we already had very little time to maybe look around the stores in the area. Now it's totally out of the question as we're just concerned about getting back to our ship in time for departure. Another van finally arrives but again there are people already in the van so a family of 4 didn't fit and were left standing and waiting in the wet cold for an indeterminate time. Prior to being left out in the rainy windy cold for probably the better part of an hour the tour was a 3 to 4 star experience. 3 for me comparing it to the other duck tours I had been on, and 4 for my Mom who enjoyed it. But after being left outside with no information the entire excursion really dropped to a one for all of us. We wouldn't have gone if we knew it would have ended that way, the excursion wasn't worth what we had to put up with afterwards. Lesson 3: Chance it if your cruise line happens to be at the dock the actual tour runs from. If not, best of luck to you. I want to give them one star. But we're giving it 2 stars because... my 76 year old Mom says so. Lesson 4: Listen to Mom even if you vehemently disagree. read more

Friends booked this 90 minute duck tour since some haven't gone on a duck tour before... very similar to other duck tours - tour of the city by land and by water. Unlike other duck tours I have been on, they gave everyone their souvenir duck calling bill at the start of the tour vs the end...yes, there goes the quacking...LOL Good tour for a rainy day, however it was hard to see out the windows for the most part.
