He rarely was upset with drop offs but when he was the teachers did a great job redirecting him and providing him love. My son also made some great friends at the Sandbox that have been a strong foundation to his confidence and happiness and I owe this to the wonderful teachers and staff at the Sandbox Early Learning Center. The program director and teachers have really gone above and beyond to help support our son's development. We were especially appreciative of their support during potty training and learning to use gentle hands with peers. I have loved the emphasis on building independence and our son does a great job with putting on clothes/shoes, mealtime routines, cleaning up messes, etc. The students have "jobs" they select and complete, and these tasks have helped our son with his focus, problem solving, and fine skills (just to name a few). Our family also loves that the toddler program is Spanish immersion. Our son is currently 2.5 and is talking more and has such positive things to say about his teachers, classmates, and experiences at school. She potty trained there first, and her pediatrician commented on how advanced she seems with her speech and general knowledge. After the last request, I was told that we could meet in 3 weeks, after stalling for a week. Incident (accident) reports have not been completed until I've asked for explanations for bruises. My child has been bitten twice by other children, in a 3 week span. My child was taken into the facility, by his other parent, with a golf-ball sized bruise on his forehead, without it ever being documented. The corporate office has been just as uncooperative. I have picked up my son with a soiled diaper many times. I would not, by any means, recommend this location to anyone.

The school strongly emphasizes academics and kids are given letter/percentage grades like high schools do. Yes there's pressure but nothing we can't handle so far. My complaints: 1. De-prioritization of physical activity. You have to put your child in an after school club (more money) for dance, bowling, and other movement-based activities. I had the opportunity to volunteer to help with hot lunch once. I learned a lot. Like just how short lunch is; it explained why my daughter was hungry but had uneaten food in her lunch last semester. Volunteering has opened my eyes and I started packing her lunches a little differently 2. It's a charter school so they have to raise money. However, the fundraiser updates in the app are ridiculous. Class vs class, grade vs grade. Everyone hurry and donate before the deadline...use the AZ tax credit...oh the deadline has been extended so you can donate more (no surprise) None of the issues I mentioned are major to me. Why? Because my kindergartener is reading, can read digital and analog clocks, she can add double-digit numbers, etc but her friends who are in 1st and 2nd grade in TUSD schools aren't there yet. The academic advantage Basis provides is unparalleled without attending an expensive private school But there are pros and cons to each school and I've included a couple for potential parents considering the school

I just had a concerning conversation with her regarding her science class today. Now this sounds a lot like bullying to me from the teachers to student. If a student concerns, uncomfortable, and would like to leave the room they should, am I wrong? Now this has been going on all year and I've been quiet about it. I'm not pleased with the staff nor the faculty on how they pursue my daughter into wanting her to change instead of developing her strengths the way that needs to be done and I feel really awful and shameful for bringing her to the school. I will never recommend Basis. I hope you guys change the way that you view your students they are not robots. They are human beings and if they feel uneasy about a situation, they have the right to speak up.

Her teachers take excellent care of her and the other children in her class, she has fun and learns so much every day. This is so much more than just a place where she's safe while her dad and I are at work: it's a nurturing learning environment, with caring teachers who she loves like family, in classrooms with minimum 4:1 ratios. She gets both English and Spanish, is fed healthy meals, given consistent naptimes, and is building real friendships with kids she's known for a long time. Miraculously, it's also less expensive than other places where we'd inquired. I was so lucky to get her in here. We're going to be moving out of state in the coming months, and taking my daughter from CAC is the hardest part of the move. I know we'll probably never find a place as good for her where we're going, and that breaks my heart.

They support breastfeeding which you can do at the center while visiting your child or bring the breastmilk ready to go. The meals are healthy and diverse and they can work with dietary requirements. Overall, I love this place and know my son is learning in a safe environment when he's there.
