Some friends of mine had posted that their kids attended here - one of which has had 3 children come through! I knew when I was pregnant with my son, I wanted to try to get him enrolled, especially since I would be going back to work just down the street - but initially I wasn't sure if they allowed infants. Upon learning MS@11th accepted infants, my son was enrolled and under the absolute best care by several teachers who loved him so well! By his 1st birthday, he was able to understand some Spanish and eventually began saying some words thanks to Mrs. Yovana, Ms. Betsy l, Mrs. Darla and Ms. Karla! When he moved up to the pre-primary class, it was clear that we would love our school even more. Mrs. Karen & Mrs. Hannah have been so wonderful. They know exactly what each child needs and when they need it. The exude peace and create the perfect learning environment for young minds. My guy will soon move up to the primary class and we know that he will learn so incredibly much from Ms. Sara and all of his friends in class. One of my favorite observations is how the older kids help guide the younger ones and Ms. Sara always has a watchful eye. Helpers like Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Sonya and Ms. Jen are always filling any gaps as well. And Mrs. Jamie is always keeping everyone on track and informed! The montessori approach truly meets each child where they are; helping them build boundaries, confidence, knowledge, manners, patience and skills. I'm so thankful for our Montessori family and the love my boy has been shown since the start.

She was sick for weeks after this. They made it seem like my daughter was a problem and needed medication (not even 1.5 year old) she attended primrose school of atascosita immediately after this school with ZERO ISSUES. We moved states and she's at another daycare now again with NO ISSUES. Clearly she was just used to being treated better than they did. Lost my daughters clothes then when I received them back they clearly smelled like another child I watched them let my 1.5y.o. grab a tiny infants milk bottle, drink it, and then without even wiping it off they put it back in the infants mouth Watched a toddler walking with a teacher EATING a pool noodle while the teacher let them... My daughter would cry at this school "unless in a crib" so they left her in a crib most of the time When speaking to the director they do not believe in cameras (clearly because they don't want to be held accountable)

I didn't have a good time at this YMCA. It makes an effort considering it's a smaller town YMCA, but considering the membership price that I pay and considering that people from Port Arthur are allowed to go wherever they want to and travel anywhere within Texas, I found a kind of ridiculous that I wasn't allowed to use the Port Arthur gym during the pandemic. I can use the Houston ones, but not Port Arthur. Membership prices are no lower though, in fact i'm getting billed when I asked to be on hold. Very annoying too. One of the main reasons I pay the YMCA prices is to be able to visit gyms in other cities. It's less than an hour from where I live. It's closer to my door than some of the Houston area locations, drive time wise. And when I was here, it wasn't a good experience. Some not very friendly associates. In any case, some of the weights are so run down and old that I got a severe injury to my thumb just trying to lift them. That's never happened to me at any gym before. They're clunky and unstable and uneven, and the weight rack is a nightmare. I saw a female employee come around and severely condescend and reprimand several male staff members and also a couple of patrons, and she was loud and nasty. One of them because he wasn't working hard enough, spraying enough, cleaning enough. The spray in my face while on equipment was too far. I'm not sure what the others were doing wrong but it was a little embarrassing. There are various other issues as well such as the shower, slippery floor, treacherous, so very dangerous, things not working properly (especially in the locker rooms and plenty of weight machines), and somebody was checking me out in a creepy way the whole time I was nekky in the shower rooms. Some of the employees are really friendly and others not so much. All in all I definitely would say it is a YMCA that I would avoid in future if possible. Also I called to ask about using the facility and they promised to call back. I was never called back. Instead I got added to their mailing list and now I receive all the promotions. Nah fam. I should give them 1 star but 2 is just for a couple of employees that were okay. And of course this Y is in Port Arthur. Not to be confused with Sport Arthur (which is at the Olympics), Snort Arthur (a cokehead), or Court Arthur (when you are trying to get Arthur to date you).

Parents are not privy to information about incidents where their child is hurt by someone else unless it's undeniably obvious like a broken bone. Even then they alter the truth.
