This is the first daycare my daughter was excited to attend but also began to thrive quickly. This is her home away from home while we work. One very important this to me is also that they let your child be who they are. That is different than I've seen of the other good daycares in the area. They also have a fantastic learning program for the kids to make it fun and interactive. They have great communication when something doesn't go as planned (falling, etc). They also go way out of their way to make things better if they can. Here's an example of how they go above and beyond: When several kids went through a biting stage, they changed up the classroom size to 4 or 5 kids to 1 teacher to allow more focused time with the kids. They implemented plans for playtime to prevent biting incidents. I wouldn't trust any other daycares else with my precious child again.

I didn't have a good time at this YMCA. It makes an effort considering it's a smaller town YMCA, but considering the membership price that I pay and considering that people from Port Arthur are allowed to go wherever they want to and travel anywhere within Texas, I found a kind of ridiculous that I wasn't allowed to use the Port Arthur gym during the pandemic. I can use the Houston ones, but not Port Arthur. Membership prices are no lower though, in fact i'm getting billed when I asked to be on hold. Very annoying too. One of the main reasons I pay the YMCA prices is to be able to visit gyms in other cities. It's less than an hour from where I live. It's closer to my door than some of the Houston area locations, drive time wise. And when I was here, it wasn't a good experience. Some not very friendly associates. In any case, some of the weights are so run down and old that I got a severe injury to my thumb just trying to lift them. That's never happened to me at any gym before. They're clunky and unstable and uneven, and the weight rack is a nightmare. I saw a female employee come around and severely condescend and reprimand several male staff members and also a couple of patrons, and she was loud and nasty. One of them because he wasn't working hard enough, spraying enough, cleaning enough. The spray in my face while on equipment was too far. I'm not sure what the others were doing wrong but it was a little embarrassing. There are various other issues as well such as the shower, slippery floor, treacherous, so very dangerous, things not working properly (especially in the locker rooms and plenty of weight machines), and somebody was checking me out in a creepy way the whole time I was nekky in the shower rooms. Some of the employees are really friendly and others not so much. All in all I definitely would say it is a YMCA that I would avoid in future if possible. Also I called to ask about using the facility and they promised to call back. I was never called back. Instead I got added to their mailing list and now I receive all the promotions. Nah fam. I should give them 1 star but 2 is just for a couple of employees that were okay. And of course this Y is in Port Arthur. Not to be confused with Sport Arthur (which is at the Olympics), Snort Arthur (a cokehead), or Court Arthur (when you are trying to get Arthur to date you).

We are not given many choices here but I was fortunate enough to get him enrolled and I am very thankful for the service Chad and Kelly provide. It's clean, well organized, and they have been working tirelessly to help children with their studies and zoom meetings. They're not teachers so I can only imagine the stress this has caused on top of hurricane after hurricane but they pulled through. My son has had to deal with bullying a lot. He's a very sensitive child. We have had zero problems with him fitting in. He gets along with the other kids and he loves playing in that gym my son hasn't uttered a single complaint. They put fun little field trips together for them during the Summer time too. Chad and Kelly will be patient and work with you. You're definitely getting your money's worth. Our family endured a devastating blow earlier this year and they were both very caring and supportive. I have friends whose children also attend and they haven't had a single complaint. By far the best daycare in Beaumont.

The Hospitality Center is open all year round helping the local community…read more Serving lunch daily from around 10:15 a.m. through half past noon, the Hospitality Center helps anyone in need. Whether you are temporarily needy, out of work, disabled, on a fixed income, homeless or whatever your case may be the Hospitality Center is there to help however they can. Outside organizations stop by to further assist those in need. The center is part of Southeast Texas' Catholic Charities and has one employee, Christina Green, the director, the rest are volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer, you are more than welcome to. They are open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and need help cooking, cleaning and serving. Rain or shine, the Hospitality Center is open and there to help those in need.
