This store was a overcramped store near Alexanderplatz, but it has transformed into a gorgeous and spacious store that leaves you wandering around and staring at different items. It's not the best one in Europe, that's not the 5 stars are for. It's just to tell you that you won't feel like you've stepped into an asian jungle of madness that you won't be able to get help or find your way out. Typically this is the case with the other stores. The fresh area has great imported (I assume imported, maybe locally grown) veggies, cheap tofu, and a fanciful array of veggies (including chilis). There are also roots, such as taro, tubers, etc. The frozen section has great selection of frozen Dim Sum and other scary looking / but yummy things. There's definitely a selection of rice, but I always go with Thai Elephant Brand. I'm thai and I love jasmin rice. You can get your sushi making stuff there and be happy they've organized the items in a single area. (if you really want sushi making stuff, go to Smartdelic in F'shain instead . . .it's a japanese restaurant / grocery market) Anyways, you'll find cute thai desserts often offered near the cash register. This will make you salivate if you've had them before or make your tastebuds wonder for what can it entail. The ladies are nice and I love eating my fortune cooking on the way out. Thank goodness the asians love giving out bright yellow grocery bags. Have fun, it's at Hackescher Markt located in the back near the tram ending (south side) towards the Bang Bang Club alley way.

This is also the only place that I have found that sells the super delicious and healthy Pate di'Arachide variety of peanut butter. They don't have a very large produce section but what they do sell is usually fresh looking and relatively cheap. The coriander bunches from here are always more fresh than at the other Asian markets near me. Also the store is always very clean and well organized. Most of all, the location is great. It is right off of Alexplatz, close to an U-Bahn entrance, and next door to Alexa shopping center so you can stop in for a Starbucks on your way home!

And I've tried them all as I cook a lot of Asian dishes and have shopped at every Asian store in Berlin since I've been here over the last 5 years or so. They also carry a very good selection of quality pre-packaged tofu. They manage to get in quite an international array of products in this shop - Thai, Korean, Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Taiwanese, Nepalese, Malaysian, etc. They carry a good selection of Asian staples and some surprisingly reasonable speciality items, spices, spice mixes, sauces, noodles, teas, dried and canned goods, frozen and refrigerated products, etc. They have all the standard Asian fresh produce such as Daikon radish, Bok Choi, Napa cabbage, spring onions, bean sprouts, Achiote, plantains, fresh coconuts, etc. They even have yummy Asian snacks and drinks to grab and go. There is an extra room behind/past the register with more products (Ramen, large bags of rice, etc.). They also carry some Asian cookware, rice cookers and health/beauty/personal care. The store is clean, organised, average prices and decent enough service by Berlin standards. It's in a great location (very central, right next to Alexander Platz).

It was incredibly frustrating until we reached Atix. What appeared to be owners were restocking with the door slightly propped open and the store was also closed. However, one of the owners smiled and invited us in anyways. The store had a large variety of items and we were able to finally grab not only the important items that we needed but a few additional items as well. While the friendly gesture by the owner(s) was genuine and highly appreciated, the variety and presentation of the store were also spectacularly done and merit a five star review. I would recommend stopping in here if you are in the area.
