But none of these places are as dangerous as going to a hospital or doctor.... The frightening thing was that the nurse was caught because the new doctor who arrived at the hospital. ... the new doctor was horrified to realize that the staff in the hospital were all aware of these murders The nurse was killing people by the scores and the hospital staff, both doctors and nurses did nothing to stop. The slaughter of patients. The truly frightening thing is that this isn't the only hospital.... The odds of being caught are very low. Similar murders may be occurring at every hospital in the United States with hundreds of thousands dead. we just don't know. Believing the slaughter is not occurring into other hospitals ... is like reading in your newspaper that someone was murdered in your hometown and thinking your hometown was the only place in the world with a murder Murder is obviously occurring in other cities and murder is obviously occurring in other hospitals, and probably all of them But it's like in the horror movie. Be afraid. Be really afraid. ... it's not necessarily an intentional killing (at least part of the time it isn't). The medical errors... It just means that the doctor didn't pay attention to what he was doing.... No diligence or care... and the patient unnecessarily died just as though the doctor had beaten him with a ball peen hammer ... to death When you go to a hospital or a clinic be grateful if they do some good... you MUST always check carefully what they prescribe ... Doctors commonly make mistakes, many of them aren't intentional... and many of them get kickbacks from manufacturers prescribing drugs, including those you don't need ... take a look at the congressional investigations dealing with doctors in the United States that make more than $100,000 a year prescribing medicine that's useless and getting paid to do it... So at the end of the day I have a big smile on my face knowing I have a great Doctor who has my best interest at heart and has probably kept me alive more than once and more than a few times I am grateful to an incredible extent every day I see her. AF Williams has a number of really good doctors and I have seen a few of them as well. I like to stick with the same doctor... I've never had my own doctor until I became seriously ill... it's difficult to explain this, but when that happens, you became very dependent upon your nurse and your doctor... my nurse was promoted to bigger and better things but... it doesn't get better than being a doctor and so there's no promotion from there. Doctors don't have the time to explain everything to you that they should explain... just like we as human beings don't do and say all the things we should do and say to others. For example, I recently had a procedure done to take a look at my bladder stone; huge, 1 inch in diameter stones ... I wasn't told that the unintrusive Sonic cannon was as good as the very intrusive stick a camera up my urethra... a painful and very strange experience... it wasn't explained to me that the shot given was not given in the muscle, but simply down the urethra. I thought I might suffer some horrible malady as a result I realized later that I'd be OK. I still resent not being told alternative treatments. There were less intrusive and just as effective treatments. read more

The most inefficient physicians' office that I have ever been in. You will sit and wait and wait in one of the spartan exam rooms for 10 mins after ur appointment; Than 20 mins., Then, 30 mins. or more. If you need additional services like an X-ray, you can expect to sit there for another 30+ minutes before finally having to remind them that you are still there - waiting! Just the worst! read more

I saw Ashley McGee, DO after my car accident. I was in a horrible car crash that totaled my car. McGee is fresh out of med school and is completely incompetent. I had to force feed her working medical knowledge like baby food. After she had committed macroagressions at me (defaulting to racism because she is not knowledgeable), during my appointment she tried to play off my symptoms as normal depression that was unrelated to my car crash and pre existing conditions... pretty sure asthma isn't the result of a car crash.. frustrated, I told her to write down in my notes that she refused to help me or evaluate my previous patient history from my car accident. The craziest thing too, my emergency room stay was literally in the same hospital system so McGee had no excuse not to even read my hospital notes. She didn't. She showed up completely unprepared, and her nurse tried to get me to sign a form that signed my rights away if I needed to be put it in a psychiatric facility. This is medical racism at its finest. Deeming people of color to be "crazy" and automatically assuming judgement without doing a proper evaluation. After I had expressed my frustration, McGee updated my notes with her own diagnosis after not even doing an evaluation on me. She simply just made up something and entered that into the appointment notes. If you are not white, do not see McGee. McGee wouldn't even do an evaluation on me, thank god I have a lawyer who found me a better doctor and I was informed I had three herniated disks and punctured nerves from the car crash. Save yourself from a horrible provider, and do not see Ashley McGee. read more

I notice AF WILLIAMS has many 1 and 2 rating along with 4 and 5. it's been my experience that this means people who work there rate themselves high, patients have lower opinions. We go to a fast food restaurant because we're in a hurry. No time for gourmet. Our dream when we go to a doctor... good medicine. Careful examination. Remedies for our woes. . and I have learned from experience that nurses are often more important to our care than doctors. At AF Williams, I have had super nurses. They called me to remind me of appointments. They explained the care. One of them was promoted to a nurse manager. Wow. She was amazing. The others ... so persistent and caring ... also seem to be gone. I have a number of serious health issues ... and the nurses always gave me detailed paperwork. They went over the paperwork with me carefully. They set me up with my next appointment. The doctors at AF WILLIAMS seemed wonderful too. Thorough. Observant. Attentive. Caring. Brilliant. My last visit was very different. Navigating the health journey can be very confusing and frightening. We all want to be as healthy as reasonable. We want to live as long as possible. We all look for hope. We want to be secure; we hope receive the best technology, but not all doctors are equal, and certainly not all technology. My last visit to AF Williams was a huge disappointment. My doctor spoke to me five minutes. The doctor got up and began to walk out, without saying anything else... the doctor said"see you in 6 months! ". Confused, I asked "Is that it.?" I was surprised. The doctor didn't tell me someone would come in and bring me my paperwork. . She left me uncertain. Sitting on the chair. I found my way out. No one came back and escorted me. No one set up an appointment. That was it. I got up and left, wandering down the hall, finding my own way. No appointment was set up. No instructions. No paperwork In the past, I had always gotten a survey of satisfaction from an independent agent on behalf of UCH ...Not this time. Today I called to see if I had an appointment. I didn't. Whatever had been great about UCH was absent. In fact, I felt I didn't have a doctor or nurse. The magic there is gone. On 9/15/23 I had an appointment with Dr. Billstein. Her MA JOSH A. was assigned to me. I have never in my life been treated so awful by a medical professional until JOSH A...From the minute he walked into the room he was a class A jerk to me. He kept insisting that I feel out the form for depression and I told him that I wasn't there for depression. But he kept on insisting!!! I told him no not today!! Had he even bothered to read my chart he'd known that I suffer from PTSD!! And I wasn't going to discuss it with him. And again that's not why I wasn't there!! I was there because I'd been suffering from an undiagnosed illness for the last ten months and that I was transferred to Dr. Billstein as my doctor moved away. The entire time I was there he never took any vitals. Every time he'd ask me a question he got so annoyed and would roll his eyes at me when I answered!! Then he'd go back to me not filling out the the form for depression!! And again I said no not today. Then in an angry tone he said well we can just refuse to see you if you won't fill it out!! I then said Nope I'm doing this today!! We are done here!! I then stood up and started for the door and JOSH A. Stepped in front of the door and blocked it. And kept me from leaving!! I then told him to get the F out of my way!! This is the real story Josh!!! NOT THE LIES YOU PUT ON MY CHART!!! YOU NEVER SAID ONE KIND WORD TO ME AND YOU KNOW IT!! AND YOU NEGLECTED TO SAY THAT MY ADULT DAUGHTER WAS IN THAT ROOM THE ENTIRE TIME AND WITNESSED WHAT A TOTAL JERK YOU WERE TO ME!!! THEN JOSH A. Ran from the room to his boss yelling, it was all her it was all her, she started it, she started it!!! LIKE YOUD EXPECT FROM A 2 yr OLD NOT AN ADULT!!! When I ask him what his name was he grabbed his name tag and said Josh, LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE IN A VERY SNARKY TONE!!! Since when is it ok to block a patient a patient from leaving a room?? I was so physically sick that day and no one seemed to give a crap!! Then they let this punk write a bad review filled with lies in my chart!!! I've been going here for 10 years and have never had a problem. Great facility, almost always on time, and very friendly staff. My doctor is Aimee English, but everyone I've seen has been great. I'm on CU Health insurance. The people who are complaining that this place is expensive must be on crappy healthcare. And they almost certainly would pay as much or more somewhere else for the same services. read more

I just had my first visit here. Medical assistants were very friendly and I was called back right on time. It took about an hour to get my history down and then talk to the doctor, but I think that's acceptable for a first time patient. They seem like a great team and I like that it's an all in one facility. It always annoys me when you have to have like eight different offices for your various doctors. As I was leaving, the waiting room was packed, so I think I will continue to try to book early appointments. read more

My mom was rushed in the emergency after I found her unresponsive at 230am. It took me till 9:00am to finally get some information on what floor and room she was in and if she was even alive. I've been coming to AF Williams for a few years now and have been pleased. I've seen about a half dozen of the physicians who work here and all have been excellent. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I've seen my PCP proper... I really like the doctors here. It is a teaching practice so there are resident doctors and attending doctors. The doctors are always very up front with who is a resident and who is an attending. Sometimes it takes a little bit longer than at a non-teaching practice, but on the other hand I feel like I get better care here than at a practice with only one doctor because the doctors at AF Williams take time to listen to the patients and answer their questions. I've had resident doctors who came up against something that they weren't sure about, and rather than guess or just try something, they'll get their attending doctor and they'll figure it out together. If speed is super important for you, I'd maybe look somewhere else, but I've been very happy with the care here. I've seen several of the doctors and they have all been first class. My primary care provider is Dr. Kimberly Insell, and she is excellent. read more

This place is a joke. The doctors are kind and that's where the nice experience ends. Their billing is outrageous! I've been to UCH for all other doctor appointments and haven't received bills from my oncologist for cancer treatment as high as these guys. When our family was passing around a sinus funk, I was charged over $800 for an xray for me, while my daughter got an xray at urgent care for $41 (same insurance). Apparently they bill under the hospital instead of under physicians like a normal PCP office. You might get good care, but beware of the insane sticker shock when you receive your bill. read more

I have been going to AF Williams for a couple of years. I rad the reviews and called the general manager to talk about them before choosing the office. He assured me that the extra charges, treating this strip center doctor's office like a hospital, were not true and I would have no such charges. Not true. It is extremely costly. And, everytime you visit the office, they generate a new account number. So, don't think that the statement you just got is a statement of all of your charges. Be sure to check. It took 5 visits to have my first wart ever removed - that was crazy alone - but each time insurance was being charged almost $500 and there was a separate account number. Sadly, the wart remains. When I had an injury after a trip on a flight of stairs, the ortho guy said it wasn't a big deal and would probably correct itself. Wrong. My toes have continued to grow apart and I will now have to have surgery, including wearing a boot. It is a disaster and the ortho guy had as much empathy and patient care as a cold fish. There is an awful lot of prescribing - about the 5th prescription in..that was for precautionary methods...I wised up and quit taking. Felt better than I had for the last 5 months within a week. Now I have an entire bag of unused prescriptions that I will be turning over and I had to call my pharmacy to cancel 3 more that I'd chosen not to fill. The PA I chose was kind, empathetic, listened and was pretty great - but it's not worth the rest. Changed insurance and am paying extra so that I don't have to stay within the UC System - headed back to Rose Medical. read more

I really should have paid attention to the previous reviews, but I was swayed because this office was so close to my home and had evening hours. I've had plenty of PCPs in my day, but this by far has got to be the worst office. While I liked Dr. Shannon Langner personally, the office is worse than the pits. 1. They NEVER sent referrals as they indicated. This resulted in MULTIPLE hours, 3-way calls between the insurer and their office and large direct pay bills that I was responsible for simply because they didn't submit the referrals. I would email, call and make follow up calls just to make sure a simple referral had been processed. They would always say that it had been admitted and then when I would show up at the specialist, miraculously, there was nothing. Time after time they consistently didn't submit the referrals despite saying they had. I even met with the office manager to bring resolution. Nothing worked. As I sit here type this now, I have been on hold for 30 minutes with the office waiting to determine why yet again (for the 3rd time in 2 months) they emailed me confirming they had sent the referral and the specialist and insurance company are both indicating they have not received anything. 2. Thankfully, my husband and I have flexibility on our jobs because we always had to wait for at least 45 minutes to be seen. Despite the little marker board out front which indicates that the physicians are running on time, there was always an extended wait -- even in the evenings. So, be prepared to tack an additional hour on top of the appointment time. 3. And last but not least, simple diagnoses were misdiagnosed resulting in multiple visits, multiple medications and just an overall headache. The one positive is that their records are electronic so you can easily access whatever information you need online. Other than that, prepare your mind for great disappointment. My daughter went in for a single blood test. Prior to going to this family practice, she went to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood was going to charge her $200 for the test, upon which, she decided to go to her primary care physician at AF Williams, thinking she would be charged less. In fact, she was pressured into a variety of tests and she came out with a whopping $2000 bill. Never did they mention what the costs would be because as the office manager at AF Family Practice states that they don't know the costs when they perform the procedures. After this experience, we are no longer with Denver Health or this family practice. They are only interested in lining their pockets. We have returned to Kaiser where there is concern for their patients' pocketbooks. read more

I've been going here since I moved to Denver in 2008. I have no complaint about the doctors I've seen, but the office staff and policies makes it the worst PCP experience I've ever had. I've been meaning to switch for a few years, but it's so close and I'm generally healthy so I just didn't bother before now. In June, I had a minor procedure done in the office. They screwed up the billing to my insurance. After a lot of phone calls, thought it was resolved when I got a bill in the mail. I called and got the run around. It was only $150 so I just finally paid it when they threatened to send me to collections...4 months later I was sent a refund check so I guess I was right about the billing issue all along? Then last week I really sick and had an ear infection. I managed to get an appointment for the next day which was a pleasant surprise since it usually takes 3 to 4 days to get an appointment when I'm sick. I got there early despite feeling horrible because the ear infection had gotten worse and was happy to see the chart in the lobby showed that every doctor (about 8 of them) was running on time. After checking in and sitting in the lobby for 15 minutes, my name was called. Rather than being taken back to see the doctor, I was informed she was running at least 40 minutes late. After more questioning I was told actually, it might take an hour and a half before she was ready to see me! I asked if they could call me when the doctor would be ready to see me since I live 5 minutes from the office. No, they couldn't do that. I could either reschedule or sit and wait. I asked if another doctor could see me since all of them were running on time and was told that would not be possible either so I left without rescheduling. Today, I got a letter in the mail from them. Silly me, I was expecting an apology. No, It was a nasty letter about how any appointment not canceled an hour before scheduled is considered a missed appointment, and if the situation happened again they might "discharge" me from the practice...needless to say I've already decided to discharge myself. TL:DR - Good doctors, but I do not recommend you subject yourself to their awful office staff and policies. read more

My appointment was for 5:40, I didn't see the doctor until 6:45. After 15 minutes the Doctor told me to go to the store and buy some Mucinex or an over the counter allergy medicine. Two weeks later I received a bill for $555, they discounted $222, amount due $333. I chose this clinic thinking the charge would be a lot lower than a private physician. Long story short, you can go to a private Doctor for the same amount or less and receive better and more personalized service. So when we complain about the high price of healthcare, it's not just the insurance companies that are taking advantage of the public. The nurses were so kind & helpful & really made sure my questions were answered before the DR came in. My DR was also wonderful - she was knowledgeable & professional. Again, yet another negative experience. I'm out of state for a 13-wk work contract and have been calling them back and forth for two weeks now. There is no explanation for how ridiculously awful the lack of concern and untimely nature of taking care of patients is. I don't know who is responsible for it, as when I've spoken to the nurses in charge of filling rxs, they have been rude, even though I have previously been an RN at UCH. I took off of work for an appointment today. Arrived, and told the appointment had been cancelled by their staff in error. Then I was told that there were no appointments the rest of the day, could I come in tomorrow morning? No, I can't, my husband is having surgery tomorrow morning. Sorry, nothing available for the rest of the week. Which wouldn't have mattered anyways, I am a physician myself, and have to request my time off well in advance, and between my husband having surgery, and the holidays, I won't have time, or PTO hours, to come in anytime soon. I asked to speak with a manager, they were not in their office, I was told there was no person to talk to, that they would call me. In my own primary care clinic, if the appointment was cancelled in our error, we would find a way to have the patient seen, even if it meant overbooking. I hate to poorly review a clinic of my colleagues, but this was a ridiculous way to be treated. I was coming in for an acute visit for severe pain that is affecting my ability to work. I will be seeking care elsewhere, as I cannot use my precious time and PTO hours to come in and not receive care. read more

Im a teacher and its hard for me to get to the doctors office before most close. So, I was thrilled when I found out this clinic has after hours several days a week until 7pm. Made an appt over the phone, about a month in advance. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The MA gave me a flu shot and was so nice. The doctor was pragmatic and efficient. Doc gave me a referral to a great hand specialist, but the hand specialist gave me the same response (no surgery necessary, recovery is proven to be better with just physical therapy and rest - I had a torn medial collateral ligament in my middle finger)...anyway, loved the experience. My first visit so what they call an "establish care" visit. The doctor barely made eye contact and clearly didn't have time to talk about any of my health concerns. I take thyroid meds daily, she sent a prescription for one month (hello? i need to take them every day for the rest of my life!) and they had no sense of urgency when I called for a refill, so I ran out. To top it off, the bill came and they had charged an inordinate amount for my appt, despite the fact that I wasn't even sick and nobody had to even put in the effort to diagnose anything. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! Summary: 1. Went for a preventive visit, and was charged a regular visit. based on services received (according to them) 2. You will get charged for using their facility and equipment as a separate bill (not fully covered) 3. You have about 15 minutes to talk to your doctor. Also, you might be limited on how many things you can talk. (will pay more for a longer visit) Details: I scheduled a preventive visit and was charged a regular visit. They informed me that the services performed during the visit changed the type of visit. They claimed that because I had a prescription made during the visit, that it was no longer a preventive visit, but a treatment visit. The doctor changed my current medicine for my blood pressure (not a new issue). I had blood drawn for preventive care, a preventive vaccine. These are covered by my plan, but the office claims that the service received was not preventive. This will cost you about $300 when not billed as preventive. I was informed that YOU have to know what is covered on each type of visit. It is not their responsibility nor the doctors. During your visit you have to stop your doctor of conducting a test, writing a prescription if you are not sure if this is covered by your visit. Facility fee: The university of Colorado will charge a separate bill for the use of their facility/equipment during your visit. In my case the insurance gets charged an extra $126 for this. All of it, or part of it might not be covered. Ask how much time you have with your doctor. Thy might charge you a regular visit or a long visit. The difference will be about $100 for the long one. You spend about 15 minutes with the assistance answering questions about your visit, current prescriptions, address, history, etc. Then you have to repeat to the doctor most of the things covered with the assistant read more

I have never had a worse experience at a health care facility as I did recently at AF Williams in Stapleton. DO NOT see Ms. Przekwas, a PA employed here. I went in for an annual women's exam and was completely astounded by her incompetence. For starters, I had an 8am appointment and was told she would not be in the office until 8:30am. Why book an 8am appointment then? After waiting 30 minutes, an assistant knocked on the door and stated she had arrived and I could now change into my exam gown. As I was in the middle of changing, Ms. Przekwas barged into the room without knocking. I had not gotten the gown on and had to quickly cover myself with it as she entered to check something in the room. No hello, no apology for barging in, nothing. Next, she fiddled with the exam light and stated it was broken. Instead of moving me to another room or saying their equipment was broken and I needed to reschedule, she decides to grab a front desk worker who has a key chain flashlight and says she will just use this. A 50 cent key chain flashlight! Like one you would get out of a cereal box! So now I'm stuck in stirrups with another person in the room shining some tiny useless flashlight at me while she does her "exam". Again, no apology, apparently this is standard of care to her. I receive a call 3 weeks later stating my exam results were inconclusive because her tests were done incorrectly. Really? How surprising! You mean you can't do a proper exam with a dollar store key chain flashlight? She says I'll need to come in again to have this re-done. Ms. Przekwas has a complete lack of clinical judgement or care for patient comfort. She knew conducting an exam in this manner was below the standard of care but continued anyway. Now I am inconvenienced to go to another office (there's no way I would ever go back here), have this re done, and pay out of pocket since they have the audacity to still charge my insurance for this "exam". Beware and don't trust unqualified, inconsiderate and incompetent people with your health. read more

When I first started coming to this office back in 2007/2008, I was so pleased. Dr. Swingle (who is no longer with the practice - because she is wise beyond her years) was amazing. I even referred my mom who had a pleasant experience with her as well. Flash forward to 2013. I have to see Julie Przekwas. Stay as far away from this woman if at all possible as I do believe she got her physicians assistant certification out of the fruit loops box (yes people she's not even an MD but acts as if). You have been warned. Her appearance is obviously not a priority of hers. Neither is her bedside manner. She is extremely discriminatory and talks down to people meaning her ego is taller than she is. She is ALWAYS late and she really does give the entire practice a bad look. My mom has since moved on to greener pastures and me? Well I am still in search of a doctor that can leave their neuroses at the door and get to what really matters- the patient. I'm surprised UC Health would allow them to be part of their network. The doctors and nurses are very friendly but it seems that no one wants to take responsibility and will end up referring you to UC Colorado hospital when all said and done. Scheduling an appointment takes forever, your doctor never seems to be available, they are usually always running behind schedule, and when they will "call you back" - don't hold your breath. I was having abdominal pain and asked to be seen but they couldn't get me in for at least a week and then when they did they called that day to tell me the dr was not seeing patients today but they had other appointments available with a different doctor and to call back and reschedule, I called back within 5 minutes and all the appointments were booked and they would call me back. Still waiting on that phone call over three months later - no worries I went to UC Colorado hospital where they saw me almost immediately, diagnosed me, performed out patient surgery, and did a post op check up. The Techs and Reception staff are excellent. I would make sure in the future to avoid Julie Przekwas PA. She made me feel terribly unwelcome and seemed to go out of her way to make sure I never see her again. Worst bedside matter I've ever seen and I work with doctors. read more

Not happy with this place, being I had to wait for an hour and I still wasn't seen. I eventually had to walk out because I had to pick up my child from school and that's why I scheduled for an earlier appointment. The markers stated the doctors were running on time but that was a lie!!! I tried telling the nurses I couldn't wait but they couldn't hear me from all the laughter between them...... watch the billing as well!!!!!! read more

If I could give them zero stars.. Or -2 million, I would. This place is awful. I came here for a quick check up on a minor issue. I was asked to come in 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. My appointment was at 230pm. I waited in the waiting room until 3pmish. They finally called my name and took me into the exam room. the assistant asked a couple of generic questions and advised me the dr would be in soon and she left the room. I was in the exam room for 20 minutes before the assistant came in and said "the dr should be with you soon"... I waited another 20 minutes until the dr came... The dr was clueless. She told me to go to the store to buy medicine for my symptoms.. Wtf?! Then a month later, I get a bill for $270 + $90 facility fee. Probably the most pointless and expensive visit... Terrible for so many reasons....total costs are unclear when services are provided and amounts billed to insurance companies are so high, you couldn't imagine your copay being so ridiculous. No one seems to know how much things costs and they don't refer to you anyone who can help you determine it ahead of time. Physician not helpful and sent me on my way with a "good luck with that" attitude. Four weeks later, nothing resolved and $260 in copays. read more

This clinic has horrible and deceptive billing practices. Not only do you have to pay for the dr visit, which is your co-pay, but 2 weeks later, they will charge you for the "facility", which will be over $100, even with insurance. It is total bullshit and highly deceptive. Until I went here, I had no idea that an "office visit" did not include the "office" and was charged separately. It also appears that they apply the facility charge inconsistently as I did not receive the charge when I went, but both my daughter and husband did. However, I will never go there again. read more
