Steve was tremendously helpful with the technical setup, but also gave some important suggestions along the way which made the three sessions much easier than expected. Within about 4-5 hours after the last session, I received a zip file of mp3's of all of the recordings. That was much quicker than expected. Getting to the studio was wonderfully relaxing, and the studio property is impressive, on a hilltop, set far away from a country road. Steve is very personable and relaxed, and he helped set a good tone for the sessions. We'll be returning in December for a second session. I can't wait!

Low stress, high quality, and super affordable. Seriously, like crazy affordable. It's the perfect place for bands on a budget who are still looking for that professional, big sound. Steve's a fantastic producer/engineer, very flexible with how you want to approach the record too. Want to record everything live and get that gritty authentic sound? sure. Want to layer everything individually and shoot for perfection? no problem. Driving from the city with a bunch of people and need a place to stay for the weekend? There's guest rooms, comfy beds, and a kitchen for cooking meals. The only downside I can think of is that this place is pretty new so it probably won't stay incognito forever. So I'd take advantage now before everyone else wises up and the prices go up to reflect the product they're putting out.

**More valuable than my college experience in music performance/education**…read more I found myself in need of a world-class mentor when I unexpectedly took possession of a marimba recently. I hadn't played in over a decade but already had a degree in music. I stumbled across Simon in a marimba group on Facebook and saw how HAPPY he was playing. I live in the Midwest but decided to begin online lessons with him. After a few months here's what I can tell you: Teaching virtually doesn't hold him back and we make incredible strides during each lesson. I have "qualified" teachers locally but Simon's philosophy, ACTIVE status as a PERFORMER, and ability to help me as a serious freelance musician mean that he's the right choice even if it's on Facetime. He's SO MUCH MORE than a technical skills teacher! Look, I'm not doing this as a hobby or playing at coffee shops - I'm making this my CAREER through paid public performing and studio recording. That means I need an experienced mentor that can guide me through the minefields of being an independent musician: we spend our lessons going over anything from how to strike a marimba bar to get the best sound, posture, to how to run a music business. I'm not in a cookie-cutter program with Simon, he teaches to MY level, MY goals, and has MY best interests in mind - things that college failed miserably at doing. Much of his website states "the only __in Westchester" but really there's no one ANYWHERE doing what Simon's doing in a way that's accessible worldwide. I WISH I was one of his teen students that have access to his approach so early in life!! It was important to me that she learn rudiments , how to read drum scores, etc. Since I also wanted her to learn a melody instrument and become proficient with scales, chords and reading melody lines etc. I knew I needed a teacher who was trained in all aspects of percussion (especially mallet instruments like vibraphone, marimba etc.). To make a long story short, I was running out of options, than I found Simon. My granddaughter has progressed beyond my wildest expectations. She now wants to audition for NISMA and the "all state band ". She is learning drums and marimba. Simon keeps it interesting but is demanding (in a good way), my granddaughters talent demands this, she takes her music very seriously as do I. My Chosen Piano Dealer for Life…read more It has been 7 years to the month (Sep. 2016) since I first patronized Allegro Pianos. I started my piano journey with a digital upright Kawai; upgraded to a 2016 Estonia 168 baby grand; and finally acquired my dream piano, a 2023 Bluthner Model 6. I also took piano lessons at their school for two years. My progress was rapid, and I am looking forward to enjoying my Bluthner until my dying day. Given my long acquaintance with the owners of Allegro Piano, Ori and Rebecca Bukai, I could write a voluminous review; but to be concise, I'll recount my most memorable experiences that make me so grateful that I happened on their company given the sea of competitors in the piano business. First, Ori spent so much time explaining the factors of piano selection and listened carefully to my goals and preferences. I spent about 2 hours each time I selected a new piano, and Ori fielded many follow-up emails to finalize my purchases. Second, Allegro always gave me a great deal on my pianos. Like cars, new pianos rarely sell for their MSRP; however, the "street price" that Ori offered usually was far better than the discounts at other physical or online dealers and the guidelines in Larry Fine's Piano Buyer Book. Furthermore, Ori always gave me *full credit* without adjustment for depreciation toward upgraded purchases. Third, Allegro did an outstanding job with all my deliveries. I did one move without them and later discovered that I was overcharged more than double what Allegro would have charged. In my latest move from CT to TX, when the national mover refused to cover some damage to the lid because I could not prove at what point in the move the damage occurred, Allegro made sure that I was made whole even though the damage was definitely not their fault. For these and many other reasons, I regard Ori and Rebecca not only as trusted piano experts but also friends; and should I ever need another piano or am asked to recommend a dealer, they will always be at the top of my list.

Great selection, and a super knowledgeable owner. Even though a trained pianist, I learned something about the materials and manufacturing processes of the pianos the store has.
