My college aged daughter reserved a spot online today, adding her insurance information to register. She paid for an uber from campus, checked in and waited in the waiting room for over 45 mins. When she approached the desk to check on wait times, she was told "Oh, we don't take your insurance anymore. We'll cancel your copay. You can just leave." This very sick young woman left in tears. Unacceptable to let her sit right in front of you for almost an hour and not tell her she could not be seen. Outrageous, callous front desk behavior. Strongly suggest you go somewhere else. read more

They were close to my home. I was very sick. They took me right in and quickly diagnosed my problem. Quality of care excellent. The office staff extremely helpful. Type of care was diagnostic and once they knew my problem they prescribed Rx to make it go away! They are my go to emergency. Best to check out services before you need them. I am a lung care patient. I am 79. I use a nebulizer machine three times a day. I left my home on PA for a 2 week holiday vacation. When leaving my home I took everything I need for all my meds including my nebulizer machine. I forgot my mouth piece for the meds that I inhale three times a day. I am now 6 times with out my mouth price which means I cannot inhale all thes meds. I went to the afc urgent care on black rock tpk. In Fairfield to see if I can get a mouth piece to buy. I WAS TOLD NO!! My question is what is urgent care for if not to help with the most basic of help. After driving all around I found a place called Collins med supply on kings Hwy. We took our toddler here last night after he hit his head and got a cut over his eye. The staff was kind and moved things along quickly. Dr. Gabriel was AMAZING - so patient and reassuring with us (worried parents) and also wonderful with our very upset two year old. Walked in because I was having difficulties breathing and was dizzy. I walked in and they checked my oxygen levels and told me they were normal....I've had asthma since I was a child and I know how things work. They refused to give me treatment because I didn't seem "sick". I waited nearly an hour wasting my time to get treated. They looked at me like I was crazy. That was rude as fuck! They were so quick to take my money though... I had to pay first BEFORE the doctor saw me. DISGUSTING! After the doctor saw me he left me in the room again as if I was okay and didn't need anything...I ended up walking out and having to go to hospital to get treated. Such a big circus JUST to get albuterol administered when I needed it and told them that my inhaler was not working for me anymore. DO NOT GO TO THIS URGENT CARE. I used to come here after hours, or whenever something simple and semi-emergent would come up. We had some frustrations with this spot during COVID, but everywhere was slammed, so I chalked it up to that. Today, my son complained of an earache (he was getting over a cold, not Covid) so we whisked ourselves off to AFC Urgent Care. What a mistake. 50 minutes after arrival, we were still waiting, and they had taken others in ahead of us. For a simple ear check, 50 minutes is absurd. We decided to leave. With no apology or explanation, from the people working there, it took another several minutes and multiple to secure a refund for my copay. I understand places can get busy. But a little customer service (a warning when we had registered, for example, or an update at any point), would have gone a lot farther than ignorant silence. read more

My wife sprained her ankle last week pretty badly and I took her to the AFC Urgent Care in Fairfield. It was about 7 PM. My wife was unable to walk and so someone very quickly greeted her with a wheelchair and they checked us in within a few minutes. Already, we had a good feeling about the experience. Soon they x-rayed her ankle to see if it was broken, and the good news is that it was not. They sent out the x-ray to a radiologist who was offsite and they came back within minutes with the results. It was amazing. They taped her up, gave her a support boot (exactly her size) and some crutches that they adjusted for her. I was so impressed that I had a time they were finished, my wife was able to walk out of the facility on her own. Stephanie was the healthcare provider on duty, and she gave my wife excellent treatment from start to finish. She explain to my wife everything that the radiologist said in the report. Everyone else on the team was very good as well, including Amber, Crispin, and Tiffany. Thanks to everyone on the team! We will definitely go there next time we have a medical issue. The best walk in clinic in fairfield. You can call in ahead of time and they'll let you know how long the wait is. Front desk staff is wonderful, welcoming and polite. Wait time is usually less than 15-20min. The nurses are knowledgeable. I've been there 4 times in the past year and the 3 different dr I've seen were always spot on. Because you don't pay at the time of service, I was worried about the cost but it appeared to be the most affordable dr visits I've been to in years, which for an urgent care center is surprising. Could not get through for a while, just got a busy tone. Finally got through (gatekeeper was as rude as she could possibly be btw) and was put on hold for an HOUR AND 5 MINUTES. When Nurse Kathy finally got to me she told me they had no idea what type of Rapid COVID tests they administer and would not check. Can't speak to the bad reviews I can only speak of my super easy experience and the things I witness that Sunday morning when I went . There were other people ahead of but still everyone got seen in a timely manor , all the staff I encountered that day were extremely friendly . I was new there but the registration was simple . If I ever had a needed to go back I would. They even called a few days later to check on me, I thought that was really kind . I am someone that hates going to the doctor , but they made having strep throat easy ! :) definitely would recommend to a friend or family if they couldn't get in with their regular doctor for some reason . Can't even get them on the phone - most of the time you get a dial tone after a few rings with no answering machine, when you DO manage to get someone on the phone they put you on hold for more than 10 minutes over extremely simple questions. "Are you available for DOT tests? Let me check - hold please." And thats the last you hear from them. Oh oh, and the hold tone explains to you how they do unscheduled DOT tests at ALL locations. Do not go here. I went in with what I knew was a bad case of bronchitis (I get it often). The Doctor basically dismissed me and told me it was viral and couldn't be treated with any medicines. Within 36 hours I was incredibly sick and managed to get in with my primary care doctor who was shocked that the Dr. here hadn't prescribed me with anything. It took me over 3 weeks to recover. Now I have a $500 bill from them - when they literally spent 10 minutes with me and did absolutely nothing. Do not go here. read more

Had the unfortunate experience of needing to find an urgent care on Christmas and AFC was the only place open- the staff is so, so nice and they were able to do X- Rays on site. I actually went back here for a follow up a week later after such a good experience. It's busy on weekends, but the weekday wait was fairly quick. It's also incredibly reasonable in comparison to other urgent cares and everything can easily be done onsite, which is rare. The providers are a mix of NPs, MDs, PAs, but didn't matter to me they were all super knowledgeable and caring and would totally recommend going here. read more

The lady at the counter was very nice and fast, the 2 nurses that did the initial check were very professional and courteous. And the doctor gave me a detailed diagnostic, easy to understand. My son went there for a physical last year. I was with him. We both had our insurance cards but they told us to pay it and they would submit it for reimbursement. When I realized that wasn't happening, I got the run around from them for months. Now the office manager Joe never returns my phone calls. Every time I call he's either on the phone or just stepped out. They always promise he will call me "right back" but he never does. Tiffany there was very helpful and the Doctor was good but they are not upfront with their billing process. I am a teacher in Fairfield and I can not believe the way I have been treated by AFC. They charged me $125 but they submitted my claim finally after months for a higher amount. Then the claim was denied for untimely filing! All I wanted was the money that was owed to me. Yes, it is hard to get through by phone because it's a revolving door in there, but I was in and out in 20 minutes! I did not have an appointment. I walked in asking for a rapid test. The lady at the front (Nicole maybe?) was so pleasant and friendly. The place was packed with people waiting inside and outside for covid tests and non-covid related issues. I was called back after a short wait, got swabbed, and left. 15 minutes later I received a call with my results. It was the best covid test experience I've had since the start of this pandemic. I called in advance that I'd be coming in for an employer drug screening. Once there, they had me wait a half hour before telling me that they didn't have the appropriate cups to take a sample. I was the only person in the waiting room, by the way. They apologized and gave me the name of a place nearby and that they had called in advance and I was expected. They didn't call- when I got to the second place, they were no longer testing for the day. Yep, they lied to my face. Walk ins in general are hit or miss. This one is to be avoided. Staff is not friendly. Dont explain things. Cant handle a urine culture professionally. Prescribed a medicine that caused a reaction. I came here after injuring my ankle playing pick-up basketball. I was registered and brought back to a room in a timely manner. One of the PAs came in and evaluated my ankle and decided to order an Xray (which they have ON-SITE!!!). After my diagnosis, I was placed in a walking boot (which, again, they had on-site) and given very thorough discharge instructions. All in all, I was in and out in under 60 minutes, which is INCREDIBLE, considering I had Xrays done! My last ankle injury, I spent over 6 hours in the ER for! From the front desk, to the back desk staff, everyone was extremely friendly and professional. I could not have asked for a better experience and will be returning here for all of my urgent medical needs! read more

I had an excellent experience here last weekend when I had to bring my son in due to a week of nausea and vomiting. The Nurse Practitioner, Sarah, was very thorough in her work up and reassuring.
