Although, there was an initial mixup where the office had a wrong number for me so when I showed up they said my appointment was cancelled but they were unable to contact me. That's why I'm not giving 5 stars. The next appointment they were very apologetic and kind, though. They made sure all of my info was corrected. Dr Malta was awesome! She took the time to listen to me and offered suggestions. I didn't feel rushed like I have in the past with physicians. Her suggestions were very helpful and she ordered my multiple meds without giving me a hard time. So glad that I found her!!

Last year, my primary care physician (Dr. Knight, who is top notch) moved to the Mecklenburg Medical Group's Museum location on Randolph Road. At first, I was bummed that they were going to be further from Uptown... but then I realized her new location is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my house in Cotswold... so her move was a win for the home team! I've always received exemplary service from the office staff, lab technicians, doctors, and nurses at Mecklenburg Medical Group. I've had two instances where I needed appointments quickly and Dr. Knight had a conflict, so I was seen by another doctor. Both of those instances have been 100% positive experiences and I was totally comfortable with the doctors. The best thing about the doctors that I've seen is they're not big on pushing antibiotics or unecessary medications... which is hugely important for me and my family, I only want to pop a pill if it is absolutely necessary! I'll be honest, I don't like being sick, the sight of blood makes me faint, and I don't like needles... so no doctor's office is ever getting 5 stars from me, but Mecklenburg Medical Group is as good as it gets!

From the moment I walked in, everyone treated me with kindness and respect. The young ladies at the front desk were so patient, and the medical staff actually listened instead of rushing me out the door. The place was clean as a whistle, and although there was a bit of a wait, they kept everyone informed, which I appreciated. The provider explained everything in plain English, and I left feeling much better than when I came in. It's hard to find people who genuinely care these days, but this urgent care reminded me that good customer service still exists. It seems if you tell these people your condition over the…read morephone or why you need to see them, or god forbid you're a couple and share the same insurance or address, they can't seem to process anything and require you to repeat all your details per person, mere seconds after you just told them. I told them my husband's condition, and the lady called him my "boyfriend"; I told them exactly where his pain was, and their next question was again, where is his pain; I told them he just had an MRI, and she follows up by asking if he had any x-rays or MRI's. It felt as if talking to an AI would have been easier. Good luck scheduling. Additional: It seems the same lady who gave us such a difficult time scheduling then scheduled us for the wrong time, we had to call her back, and she put us on hold + transferred us to someone else to fix her mistake. Let's start off by saying I only write reviews if I've had exceptional service or the opposite…read more This review falls under the opposite category. The two stars represent the administrative staff and the nurse I interacted with. Both were friendly and helpful. I've been dealing with chronic neck/back pain since 2011 due to a car accident in which I had 10 broken bones in my back and 2 in my neck. My primary physician had prescribed me muscle relaxers and a low dose of hydrocodone and I take them whenever my pain flares up. I would get three months worth of prescriptions and most of the time one months worth will last me half a year or more because I take it ONLY WHEN I'M IN PAIN. Kind of like extinguishing a fire. I was referred to this facility due to the crackdown on narcotics because my primary physician can no longer prescribe them, in which I fully support. I told the nurse I was not interested in cortisone injections. I am not comfortable in needles being anywhere near my spinal cord..nor am I interested in getting the procedure done over and over. After reading and doing my due diligence about the injections I decided it was too risky. The doctor who came into the room (I'm not going to put his name down because that's not my way) strolled in and and basically said because I was not interested in doing injections he wouldn't charge me for my visit and I could leave. Never asked me why I wasn't interested, never tried to offer any other form of treatment, never tried to reassure me of the safety of getting injections. Just said, "that's what we do here" over and over. Didn't even try to talk about my paperwork or how my pain was or has changed over the years. Even after explaining to him how my pain has been managed he just kept referring back to injections and saying "that's what we do here". It's funny...I remember seeing the same doctor years ago in which I left with two new prescriptions (one being a time released narcotic which I tried once and could not take because of the grogginess and another for sleep which I also could not take because it made me sick in the morning) and a date to have injections. It was at that time I did my own research on injections and decided that for me, it was too risky..so I cancelled the appointments and have managed my pain with intermittent medication. After the blatant rudeness I encountered at this visit I walked out feeling like I was treated like a druggie AND I left with no help for continuing my pain management. I was in tears because of the way I was treated. All in all, it was a bad experience...just like the first time. Some things never change.
