I went to see Dr. Cundiff about options and he thoroughly assessed my situation and gave me options in a language I could understand. He answered all my questions, I decided to go with the somewhat new procedure that involved stents being placed in the sinuses. He did an amazing job and for the first time in years I can breathe again! His follow-up visits after the surgery were reassuring and I never felt rushed. The last time I saw the Dr we agreed that I would call and get an order for a CT if this recurring sinus issue came up again, that way he could get a better look at what was going on to treat me. So as instructed I called last week because the sinus problem came back, and they are telling me that the doctor won't treat me without seeing him first. I explained that I was doing EXACTLY what he told me to do by calling, they said it didn't matter and that I had to go in first. I wasted an entire day on the back and forth over this discussion. I can only surmise that they are doing this to maximize their income through as many visits as possible, there was no disadvantage to treating my case by ordering a CT first, except then they could not bill me for two visits instead of one.

My initial visits were for sinus testing; however, during follow-up appointments, my test results were never reviewed or explained. At my most recent visit, Dr. Saidha did not appear to recognize me or be familiar with my medical history. She had only a single sheet of paper and seemed confused about my prior visits. When I requested to go over of my last three test results, she reacted as if the request was unreasonable. She also acted like it had been a year since my last visit, when in fact I had seen her less than 2 week earlier. Additionally, she was rude and became defensive when I asked questions about the next steps in my care. This lack of familiarity with my case and unwillingness to communicate clearly made me very uncomfortable. It is difficult to trust a physician with surgical care or any type of care when they do not seem aware of the patient in front of them. Additionally, she often seemed rushed during appointments and appeared to make assumptions about the next steps rather than thoroughly explaining the treatment plan.

Recently, I needed to find a new audiologist. I was in need of replacing my hearing aid with a…read morenewer one with better features and technology. I located Joe Pacer through a browser search of audiologists near me. After meeting with Joe we determined what I needed in a new hearing aid. I had been considering a make/model that would allow me to wear a crossover hearing aid. Joe gave me a quote for the new hearing aid and explained that I would have a 30 day trial period and could return it, without cost, if I wasn't satisfied. Because of the expense I asked if I could purchase the crossover after trying out the single hearing aid, which he explained was fine. Once I received my new hearing aid Joe worked to try and make sure I was completely satisfied and he made several adjustments during my follow-up visits. Once I was satisfied with the new hearing aid Joe ordered the crossover hearing aid. Again Joe explained that I had a 30 day trial with the crossover and I could return it without cost, if needed. Wearing a crossover was a new experience for me, as I had severe hearing loss in one ear and the crossover transfers the sound to my "good ear" hearing aid. Joe was very patient in helping me adjust to it and again making sure I was completely satisfied, which I am! My last audiologist retired and changing to someone new was difficult, but I am so happy with Joe. I highly recommend Joe to anyone in need of a caring and knowledgeable audiologist.
