It was not easy Making the decision to go Bankrupt, so I started my journey researching all aspects and avenues I could think of. I called about 3 separate attorneys and almost went with one that was pretty cheap but got the feeling that I was going to get what i was paying for, so I ended up cancelling my meeting with that Attorney. I then placed a call to the AAG, and the real attorney Rob answered the phone himself, that's right I was talking directly to the expert. I could not have asked for a cooler more down to earth guy. He truly did make everything that much better and you will be glad to have a stand up lawyer like him on your team. I did one initial meeting and was given a to do list to bring back with me for the next visit which we scheduled about 2 weeks out from the first meeting. I also had to leave a small deposit (about 10%) of the whole payment which makes sense since he was already working on my case. I came back for the "WORK" meeting where we went through pay stubs, assets, Loans, etc. and he put all the numbers in his system. He asked very educated questions which made my confidence within him as my attorney grow. It took about 3 hours of his time to complete my case and then I paid him in full, right then and there. Next step was the actual court date, which I felt pretty good about having Rob on my side. I showed up early and started some paperwork for the hearing. Rob strolled in looking sharp in the suit and was saying hi to everyone on the floor, you could tell this was not his first rodeo. We sat and talked for about 15 minutes going over what was about to proceed in the hearing. We went into a courtroom which had about 100 seats in it and it was full of about half attorneys and half debtors. There was one guy who was representing the creditors and talked really fast. When my name was called i walked up with my attorney and the creditor representative asked me 10 yes or no questions and that was it. I got up and walked out, shook his hand and all the hard stuff was over. You do have to take an online course before and after you file which is standard procedure. Now you wait a few months and your fresh start finally begins. My credit score has already gone up 80+ points because of the burden the debt was causing has been lifted. He was honest, understanding and professional. He spent a lot of time answering my questions during the free consultation. And to my surprise, I get new credit card offers in the mail almost daily. However I'm just going to stick with the one card for now. Bottom line: Robert makes this process so easy and simple. Deciding to file for bankruptcy can be stressful and scary. I took the decision very seriously and with a very heavy heart because of the impact I knew it would have on my credit report. Do not try to file a bankruptcy by yourself. You make one mistake and it can be denied and then you will still owe all your debt AND have a bankruptcy on your credit report.
