This guy Ethan Chin a joke of an attorney. DO NOT let this clown do your BK . I was dumb enough to let him do mine . It was. 13 . He didn't get the schedules done correctly . He had some guy I never spoke to never seen before do my 341 hearing . Which got his but handed to him but the trustee about all the things they did wrong . I told Ethan to file my new income with the court which was double what I was making when I hired him . He never did . I forgot to mention his famous words of " don't worry we will correct the numbers just sign the schedules ". He's a liar. To sum up how bad this guy is . I actually spoke to someone from the court who said " all I can say is get a different attorney ". That said it all . Should anyone want proof please feel free to email me . I will send you proof . I have filed a formal complaint with the state bar . This is not a case of a distraught client . This bozo messed up me chapter 13 so bad they dismissed my bk because he did nothing correctly. I initially chose Mr. Chin because in search for an attorney, he was the first to respond to me and seemed to be hungry for my business. I did consultation and he looked at my full situation. I was told that I may be paying a higher number per month, as my situation was a little complicated. I was ok with that. I payed the $1000 retainer fee. When it was presented to court, the number I was to pay was much lower than what we discussed. Ultimately, the court rejected everything. Now I have a bankruptcy file on my credit report and am not even in a bankruptcy! We later discussed being able to refile with different terms. I sent all the paperwork he requested and emailed him. Then there were crickets!!! He never called me back!!! It was like he took my retainer knowing they would reject the plan he presented & disappeared. I might as well handled my financial situation on my own, because nothing was done. I just gave $1000 away! If I should decide to file bankruptcy later, I will most certainly choose someone with more experience and who is more responsive to their clients. read more

I contacted Mr. Chin three days ago. I was impressed that he called me back later that same evening. I explained that I am recovering from a stroke, and that my speech is a bit halting. He was patient with me, answered my questions without hesitation, and actually seemed very knowledgeable. Toward the end of our conversation he inquired if I was ready to get started; I explained that I was interviewing other attorneys, and promised I would be in touch the following day, one way or the other. I ended the call saying he had a nice voice (it was strong, confident, and reassuring). i called him the next day and left a message that I had chosen him to take my case, and left my full name and cell phone number for his convenience. He didn't call me back. So I called again later on in the same day, and expressed my eagerness to get started. He didn't call me back. So, one full day later, I called one final time and left a message that if he were interested in representing me, I would need to hear from by close of business that evening. It has now been three days. I never heard back from Mr. Chin, which leads me to believe that, nice voice notwithstanding, he is at best unprofessional and at least unreliable.
