August 15, 2023 Affordable Dentures and Implants Yakima WA Re: Termination of Dental Care This is an open letter to formally terminate care with Affordable Dentures and Implants located in Yakima, as well as a formal complaint against Dr. Noozhan Karimi. On Tuesday, 8/1/23 my father an 83-year-old man had a full mouth extraction. After the extraction he was immediately discharged and sent home with a few gauzes, mouth rinse and the dentures which had been previously made for him. All this paid cash. He was told to keep the dentures in his mouth and to sleep with them in his mouth that first night. He bled that whole first day as well as being in unbearable pain, but he followed the instructions he was given. The next morning 8/2/23, the bleeding continued, he removed the dentures, and the bleeding just got worse and did not stop, the gauzes were not absorbing the blood, as the bleeding was to quick and excessive. My brother called and spoke to Emily the receptionist several times, we were told to put the gauze in ice water, and he should hold it in his mouth for 15 minutes or more with pressure. We did that for several hours, but the bleeding was excessive, and the gauze was not enough, we were using paper towels and washcloths. We called back and we were made to feel like we were overreacting and that the bleeding was normal. However, it had been about 24 hours since the extractions and the bleeding was profuse. My dad absolutely refused to go back to Affordable Dentures and Implants anymore, he felt that he was just pushed out of there so fast after the extractions that Dr. Karimi was more worried about pushing people thru than the care and compassion that she should have been providing to the patient. Our poor father was miserable to say the least. At this point he wanted to go to the hospital, so we took him to Prosser Hospital. He was treated for about 5 hours until they were finally able to stop the bleeding. My Dad was weak and pale, it has taken him several days to start being able to move around or drink or eat anything. As my father continued trying to recover from this ordeal, this week, he noticed there was a piece of tooth stuck in his gums! Dr Karimi left a piece of tooth or bone in his gums! And they wanted him to put the dentures on and apply pressure! This was probably causing even more, harm, pain and bleeding! My father's plan was to get implants at Affordable Dentures and implants and was willing to spend the thousands of dollars to pay for them. However, after this horrific experience, he will no longer be getting implants. He will have a brand-new set of dentures made at another Dental facility and will focus on recovering from this traumatic experience. I live out of town and had to take two weeks off from work to be able to be there and take care of him. I feel that the under minding of concern that the family was communicating each time we called Emily very unprofessional and put my father's health at risk and endangerment. I called Emily on 8/14/23 to let her know that I wanted to file a formal complaint about this situation, she once again made what my father went thru seem very normal and even the fact that they left teeth or bone was normal. She said all the precautions were taken as far as his medical heath etc. She did not seem to understand that that was not the issue. The issue was that they did not take our concerns seriously. They need to realize that all people are different, and all patients are unique and can have different reactions. We are realistic and understand that there are always risks but we trusted them, and our father trusted them with his care and when the bleeding was so prolonged, and we went to them with our concerns we were basically shaken off. I asked Emily who was above the Dr Karimi, and she told me that she is the Office Manager and that the only people above her is Corporate and that she could give me their number. That is ridiculous, because there is always a Risk Management department that is in charge and handles these kinds of situations in a healthcare environment. She was not very helpful. So, for starters I write this letter and am posting it everywhere that there are websites associated with Affordable Dentures and Implants in Yakima. My hope is that no other patient or family goes thru the ordeal that my father has had been put thru. This is a private pay Dental Clinic, my father paid for this service out of pocket and the service and care he received was very poor. They really need to improve the care they provide patients, but most importantly they need to have compassion for the patients they serve. WORDS OF ADVICE: SAVE YOUR LIFE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY! I've just had a molar extraction by Dr. Lewis and although it's still the "night of", I'm very impressed. He walked me through the process step by step telling me what to expect and gave me alternative options. I still chose the extraction and he and his assistant were very open to waiting until I felt totally numb beforehand. I didn't feel pressured to hurry up and get on with it. The prior dr. here was rude and very quick to just get it done. The numbness is totally gone and I feel absolutely NO PAIN at all (so far anyway)! Maybe this is just a patient to patient experience, but to have a molar pulled and feel no pain within just hours? I hope I never have to go back obviously, but if I do, I hope Dr. Lewis is still there! Thank you to you and all of your wonderful staff! read more

Wish I had checked reviews before I went. I still have the stitches in that were put in 4 weeks ago and they keep canceling my appts. You have to pay up front, but don't get the care you need. Is there anyone honest anymore? read more

these people gave me my smile im not from here i had mine done in austin tx , and i swear i had a smile like gary busie. the bottoms would not stay in ,, too big had trouble closing my lips together , so while visiting my husband in yakima wa , there is a affordable. dentures across from our hotel , decided to see if maybe they could help me , and oh my god i love these people , i've. been unhappy and in pain when i ate , not now , staff and dr are a blessing , i cried. cause im soooooooooooooooo happy , i look normal , too the staff and dr of yakima , god bless you , truly read more

ontract Issues Problem: I recently had a number of tooth extractions and fillings and was referred by my dentist to affordable dentures in yakima washington for my partials..I was finaly able to get an appt. 8 weeks later on dec. 3rd at 8:30 am...I actually saw the licensed dr. (Dr. Goosse) for less then 3 mins during the entire process which continued until almost 5:15 that evening..(.the office was full of people like herds of cattle at a stock sale the entire time.) I witnessed several heated arguments during this course of time between various staff and disgruntled customers...which should have been a clue!! By the time I received my partials, (5:00pm) the dr. At the facility had left for the day so he wasnt even able to oversee the resualts or fit...the top partial DID NOT even come close to the palate of my mouth..there was an obvious gap of almost a full 1/2 inch between palate and top partial...I expressed concern but was told by his asst. That I needed to wear them and give them a chance and that I would be able to get them adjusted up to 2 times...well...I tried..I could not drink anything because the fluid would fill between my dentures and palate ,and it would rush out after swallowing and choke me with an unexpected rush of the fluids being expelled towards the back of my throat...then trying to eat with them was even worse with food packing and sliding under the entire plate!! I was whistling when I talked.. ( and before this, I COULD NEVER WHISTLE...and I am over 60 years old! ) I called the office and was told that the earliest I could be seen to address the issue would be dec.14th at 10:00a.m....I took that appointment!! I arrived an hour early and at 11:15 I finaly was escourted to an exam room where the issues were addressed to the dental asst. Who then went and got dr. Goosse...he entered the exam room with QUITE an attitude! He began yelling at me and had the nerve to say.."you people" think you are so "entitled"..with YOUR insurance, "you get what you get!"...I tried to explain what my issues were but he was NOT having it...again, he had the ignorance to refer to me as being "entitled"...(a term I feel is full of hate and uncompassion...extremly judgmental and degrading) I asked about the advertsed free adjustments and again was told I was lucky to get what I got and that my insurance had already paid for them...I informed him at that point, that if he wasnt going to even look at them or THE FIT (lack thereof) that I wasnt keeping them!! He reached for my mouth to remove them and take them back...I told him not to touch me (at that point) I instead removed them myself ....he reached to take them and I said "no, not without something from him stating that they had been returned and accepted back by him! He lost his mind!! I was yelled at called humiliating names..called me a" welfare rat" and told me he didnt have to give me any thing to acknowlege receipt of the dentures! At that point I requested copies of the bill and payment by my insurance to his business...he yelled and stomped out of room then started yelling from back of building that the request was absolutly none of my business that he did not have to give the requested info to me...I replied back .."what?? It's MY insurance!" I went to front desk (and of course everyone in the place had heard at least part of this hummilating ,degrading , ignorant , unprofessional conduct...) I got a statement from the front asst. Acknowledging the receipt and acceptance of the dentures...with dr.goosse still carrying on ..(.I still want to express that he NEVER DID even look in my mouth to even see first hand the issues ...and he blatantly refused to try to fix...adjust...or even see or address the problem...) he did finally tell his asst. To give me the insurance information I had asked for...and sure enough, they were paid in full by my insurance on dec. The 11th..I have NEVER experianced such a tramatic experiance ....I was humiliated...yelled at...refused service to...degraded by prejudices and called hateful names full of contempt and intended to "cut me down"... this place needs to be put out of bussiness, just this week dr goss licance was suspended, when asked what do i do was told you can go ssomewhere eles for your bottom implants and for your perm top dentures by a rude gal at the desk feel sorry for the densurisit and his nice asstintant goss is a bucher thank god i found out before i let him touch me. was told i may get some money back not they r going to refund it all .i paid 250.00 for a xray insurance would not cover for goss to make a plan think not goggle yakima denist suspened read the sh*& he has done that was just this week first week in march 2019 i am so damn mad and upset i cant even type or spell so her i am hung out to dry like many many more i am sure was told they had a provider on site but were not doing implants at this time and if that didnot suit me go some where eles!!!!!!!!so by by to my permanate tops i am sure out the $$$$, insurance gone for the year not to mention what it takes for people to have to go thru this to begin with its a very hard step to take life altering . this has to stop and not the only afd office with horrible storys please do your research better than i did!!!!!!! read more
