The first estimate was approximately $10,200 mostly because they said I needed 122 yd.² (1100 sf). All their line item estimates on their bid were extremely high compared to industry standards I am in construction and I felt like this was ridiculously high. I had the girl that did the estimate take out all the fluff and it was still $6650 dollars. It's only two small bedrooms, a hall, and a closet. I measured them and figured the square footage to be 460 ft.² with no waist. I consulted a carpet installer and he agreed with me that I needed approximately 68 yd.². I purchased slightly more expensive carpet from a competitor and hired that carpet installer and I am getting the job done for $3400. I would not trust AFW! Beware, I'm not sure if they are just inexperienced or if they are just looking for huge paychecks from unsuspecting people?? I am not going back there for anything! read more

If you want screwed up floors, you might as well save yourself some money and do it yourself. This used to be a reputable company, but sold in 2024-2025. Don't believe that reviews from before then are valid anymore. They installed floors which warped almost immediately, and refused to fix it until I paid them in full. Told me I had two days to pay regardless, and sent me to collections within two hours. If you want shoddy workmanship and worse customer service, this is the place for you! AFW's professionalism, communication and highest quality install make me wish I had been able to use them in my past flooring replacements. We added to existing tile installed over 5 years ago. They did an excellent job of matching it during the installation. Chris was available and easy to work with, answering our questions and concerns. His crew worked a few long days to complete the job in our time frame. They cleaned up when finished and moved the furniture back into position. I am pleased with the finished results and will not hesitate to work with them again. read more

"Wow" describes my experience with Affordable Flooring Warehouse! Our circular, 10 foot tall, 6 foot in diameter, circa 1995 master bath shower looked intimidating to several contractors until Manny took a look at the space. His hard working crew were on the job everyday (including some weekends) until the project was completed. I can't say enough great things about our tiler Claudio, who is extremely talented. And Emily in the showroom helped us choose the perfect tile and grout to work within the round space. First of all, they want the entire payment up front even though the job wasn't finished for 3 weeks. It was 9 days after they assured me it would be installed before work was actually completed. The installers left the entire length of the loft not nailed down. They obviously measured wrong making it too short to tuck under. It seems they were going to leave it that way. I had to call manager Bill numerous times (hard getting him to return calls) to get them to come back and fix it. Their fix was 1 1/6" stair nosing which does not look good. Then they had the gall to charge my credit card (with no authorization from me) an extra $146 for the stair nosing and an 1 1/2 hours removing tacks at $75 an hour. The floor they replaced was glued down with the exception of the stairs, which we had removed the vast majority of the tacks. There's much better choices in Steamboat!!! read more

Affordable Flooring did an excellent job. We had a tight schedule to get the floor laid and the got it finished right on time.

I'll preface this by stating that the floor we had installed looks great and if I could rate the subcontractor separately he would get 5 stars. That said, the experience of communicating and coordinating to have the floor installed was quite frustrating and enough to look elsewhere on future projects. We went with this company because they stated it was a 1-day job. The job ended up requiring a follow-up visit which we tried to have scheduled ASAP since the room could not be setup until everything was done. We received radio silence for 4 days, and then an email stating that the installer was on their way, with no prior warning or consideration for our schedules. It eventually got done and thankfully the floors look great. But to pay full price for a 1-day job that took 5 days and lots of hand holding wasn't worth it. Also when we brought this frustration directly to them (Bill) we received zero response and just had our card charged for the remaining balance. I hope they pay their sub contractors fairly because they were the only silver lining in this experience. We'll be shopping around for any future flooring projects. read more

Fast, Professional Service Working with Manny Dias and his team has been the best home improvement experience we have had in Steamboat Springs. He offered guidance on design ideas. Showed up everyday, on time until the job was completed. Manny took pride in his teams work and came back a week later to review the job. First, let me say the staff at Affordable Flooring Warehouse in Steamboat is very nice and helpful. The owner, however, is very rude and dismissive. In response to questions I asked about a quote they provided, the owner basically told me they have a lot of customers, they do a lot of estimates, they know what they're doing, and I can take it or leave it. I explained that I am doing a remodel on my own and trying to understand how it works. In response he was even more rude. I assume he would not be o.k. if his wife, girlfriend or daughter were treated this way when asking for help. I am a local professional who grew up in Steamboat so I know a lot of people. Steamboat is still a small town in many ways and word gets around. After my experience I have heard from a number of other people in the industry who had similar experiences. Needless to say, I chose someone else to do my carpeting. read more
