Scratched our bathroom door (see pics), additional charge, left a mess, and questionable customer service. This is our experience for our bathroom redo. I was directed to Affordable Granite by our builder. If selecting a remnant, you may not have the opportunity to see the whole slab, only the edges if it is behind other remnants, so you are taking a gamble on the piece. Upon arrival, the granite looked more green than grey and had a black central circle. I was never offered an opportunity to see the remnant slab in its entirety, so learn from my mistake. I'm not sure they will allow you to see it before making a deposit. I am confident that they would not allow me to refuse it, at least not without charging us. Do not make a deposit without seeing the whole slab. Their customer service is lacking, so buyer beware. When the slab arrived, it had been cut but they used a machine on our deck to adjust it which left our painted deck covered in a layer of white dust. Before they left, the worker asked if he could use our hose to wash it down. After they left and the water dried, there was still a residual white film over our outdoor furniture, fireplace table, and our brown deck. When they came into the bathroom, the workers immediately contacted the office. I had been told by the builder to remove everything from the existing surface which I did. However, they understood that the original counter top would be removed. I did not know this so I had a choice to make. I could reschedule for more than 2 weeks later for the install or I could pay a counter removal fee and complete the install that day. The removal fee is understandable but it felt coerced. You really don't have a choice unless you want to delay completion of your project by weeks to a month. When they carried the granite counter top into the bathroom, they scraped the paint off our master bedroom door. When the guys finished, I asked about the scraped door. He went out to the car and got a paint pen. It was not the color of the door paint. Obviously, if you have a paint pen in your vehicle, this isn't the first time that this has happened. Then I'm panicked and I am looking for the door paint in the basement. I find some paint and they watch as I try to touch it up. It looked awful and still does. The builder is going to repaint the door. The whole purpose to the bathroom redo is to make upgrades in order to sell the home, not incur more projects. The workers were nice but they left the deck covered in white granite dust and a marred door. In addition, they left hand prints of white dust on our newly painted walls, plus two silicone spots. Our wall with the silicone and hand prints has to be repainted. Which brings me to the final straw. We had paid Affordable granite the deposit, around a thousand dollars to secure the remnant granite. After the installation, I received a bill for $237. They called to ask when I would pay it.I had just received the bill. I considered running it by there but we were about to head out on a vacation and other errands got in the way, so I told them that I would put it in mailbox and I did. Upon returning from our vacation, I get a call from them stating that they had not received payment. It had been two weeks. This was very concerning since multiple bills had been placed in the mailbox. They agreed to check their mail run that day and see if it showed up. They suggested that the holiday weekend could have delayed the delivery. They called me back late that afternoon and told me that it had not arrived so I told them that I would bring a check by the next day. The next day around noon, I am having lunch with my husband when they call to ask if I brought the check by yet, which they know that I haven't since they are at the office. They are calling me form the Affordable Granite office. They then proceed to threaten me, stating that they will turn us over to collections the following day if they do not receive the check by the end of the day. I immediately left my lunch with my husband and drove over to Affordable Granite and provided them another check for $237. The bill is due upon completion. I offered to pay the workers the day they completed the job but did not remember how much they had added. They said that they would send a bill. I don't think they remembered either, so it was prudent to receive a bill. I fully expect that they will receive the original check; the other checks that were placed in the mailbox 2 weeks ago were cashed and cleared on this day. As they suggested, the checks were delayed by the holiday. I predict they will get the original check and that there will be another immediate hoop for me to jump through, another trip to obtain the check that I just delivered, etc. Presently, we have to have our door repainted, our wall repainted, and our deck cleaned. Our experience was not positive. read more

Had a bathroom countertop installed. I didn't think the stone installed looked like the stone I originally saw. The faucet hole was also cut too far from the backsplash in my opinion. I needed a bigger sink. I didn't get to see the stone before installation so didn't have the option to make changes before installation. It wasn't what we wanted. I have already removed it and will have to start over. read more
